Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said running back Leonard Fournette will not be disciplined by the team after his arrest last week for driving with a suspended license. The NFL is unlikely to discipline the running back either, so he won't face a suspension to begin the year. Fournette ended 2018 on a sour note with the Jaguars coaching staff and his fantasy owners, and he did nothing to shed his injury-prone label, playing in just eight games. Fournette is an RB1 when healthy, but he's played in 21 games his first two seasons and also averaged just 3.3 yards per carry on his 133 totes in 2018. His fantasy stock is down after hitting the 1,000-yard mark in his rookie season.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette was arrested on Thursday for speeding and knowingly driving with a suspended license. He paid $1,500 bail and was released. Fournette's fantasy stock was already down heading into the 2019 season after being an RB1 bust last year while playing in just eight games and rushing for 439 yards and five touchdowns. He was also suspended a game late in the year for leaving the field during an altercation with the Bills. The incident is unlikely to draw Fournette a suspension to open the 2019 season, but he'll be more of a low-end RB1 this year due to his risk of injury.
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone is optimistic on running back Leonard Fournette's outlook after he met with the second-year back last week. Marrone called the meeting "encouraging" and said, "I think he's in a really good place." Fournette missed nine games due to injury in 2018 and was also suspended in Week 13 for his involvement in a fight the week prior. He finished with just 439 yards and five touchdowns on 133 carries. Executive vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin also wasn't happy with Fournette's behavior on the sidelines in a meaningless Week 17 game. The Jags brought in Terry Robiskie as the new running backs coach for 2019, hoping he'll have a positive influence on Fournette. He'll turn 24 on Friday, but his injury history in two years in the league isn't good, so fantasy owners won't be so quick to grab him in the early rounds of 2019 drafts. Consider him a risk/reward low-end RB1 for next season.
