Brandon Carlo News
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo (personal) will be a game-time decision for Monday's series opener against Florida. Carlo and his wife, Mayson, welcomed their second child in the early hours of Monday morning. He's traveling to join the team in Sunrise, but it's not fully clear if Carlo will be in the lineup. "We're very hopeful. I don't have a determination on that yet," Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery told reporters after Monday's morning skate. Carlo has averaged over 21 minutes a night in the 2024 postseason, picking up two points (one goal, one assist) in seven games with 11 shots on goal, 16 hits, and 16 blocks. Derek Forbort could see his first action since March 2 if Carlo isn't good to go.

Brandon Carlo, Matt Poitras Could Return Thursday
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo (upper body) and center Matt Poitras (shoulder) could both be options for Thursday's matchup against the visiting Colorado Avalanche. Carlo hasn't appeared since getting hurt in a Jan. 8 contest against these same Avalanche in Colorado. The physical rearguard has registered two goals and 10 points in 39 games but also has 51 hits, 71 blocks, and 22 penalty minutes on his ledger in 20:17 of average ice time per game. Poitras injured his shoulder in a Jan. 9 overtime loss to the Anaheim Ducks and did not return after skating 8:34 in the contest. The rookie pivot has been solid with five goals and 15 points on the season as part of his 13:46 of average ice time per game.

Brandon Carlo Exits Loss With Injury
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo sustained an upper-body injury in Monday's 4-3 shootout loss to Colorado. He saw 11:50 of action and grabbed an assist before leaving. Carlo reached the 10-point mark on Monday, and he's registered an impressive plus-15 rating in 39 games to lead all Bruins skaters. The 27-year-old should be regarded as questionable for Tuesday's action against Arizona. Mason Lohrei could make his way back into the lineup as Carlo's replacement on Tuesday.

Brandon Carlo Good To Go Sunday
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo (lower body) will play Sunday against San Jose. His status for the game was initially in doubt after he exited Thursday's clash against the Rangers with a lower-body injury, but Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery has confirmed that Carlo is ready to play Sunday. The 26-year-old carries very little value offensively, with only seven points posted in 47 games, but he has been very good defensively with 76 hits and 67 blocks, and Carlo sits among the team leaders with a plus-23 rating.

Brandon Carlo Exits Saturday's Win With Injury
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo suffered an upper-body injury Saturday night against Arizona. The 25-year-old blue-liner took a hard hit by Liam O'Brien along the boards late in the first period. Carlo ended up logging 6:40 and 10 shifts without contributing anything to the box score. The severity of Carlo's injury currently remains unknown, the Bruins should provide an update prior to Monday's tilt against Florida. Should Carlo miss any action, the team's blue line would look very thin, as Matt Grzelcyk (shoulder) and Charlie McAvoy (shoulder) are already unavailable. Connor Clifton would greatly benefit in such a situation, and he already logged over 24 minutes on Saturday, finishing with an assist, three shots, three hits, two blocks and a plus-two rating.

Brandon Carlo Exits Tuesday's Loss With Injury
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo sustained an undisclosed injury in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to St. Louis, leaving the game after skating for just 4:48. He's set to be re-evaluated on Wednesday before the team provides an update. Carlo boasts only 15 points for the season, but he's a big presence for the Bruins on the defensive end. The 25-year-old has recorded 128 hits and 93 blocks in 71 games. His absence will be a painful blow, especially with Hampus Lindholm (lower body) and Matt Grzelcyk (upper body) also dropping out of the lineup lately. As a result of all the injuries, Derek Forbort has teamed up with Charlie McAvoy on the first defensive pairing and Mike Reilly is also getting a heavy dose of action.

Brandon Carlo Will Be Sticking Around In Boston
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo will remain in New England after signing a six-year contract at $4.1 million per year. Through 27 regular-season games in 2021, the shutdown defenseman compiled three goals and one helper. He is a plus-58 in 324 contests in his career. The shorthanded specialist should be a key component for the Bruins future for many years to come.

Brandon Carlo Gets Back Into Action On Tuesday
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo (oblique) will return from a month-long absence in Tuesday's meeting with the Devils. Mike Reilly will also be back in the lineup after sitting out Monday's 3-0 win over New Jersey. Kevan Miller and Jakub Zboril will make way. Carlo has had awful luck with injuries throughout the campaign, as this will be only his fifth appearance since March. He has logged 23 games for the season, posting three points with 33 blocks, 32 hits and 31 shots. The 24-year-old will skate with Matt Grzelcyk in the contest.

Brandon Carlo Returns From Injury On Tuesday
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo will make his long awaited return to his team's lineup prior to a matchup with the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night. The 24-year-old has been sidelined with an upper-body injury since March 5th. Carlo should immediately jump back into the Bruins' top-four defensemen group and help stabilize a team that has lost five of its past nine contests. The hulking blueliner isn't too relevant in fantasy circles due to his limited offensive production (three points in 21 games) but could provide value as a streamer in deeper formats with his 29 shots, 30 blocks and 27 hits in 2020-2021.
