Predators
The Nashville Predators have acquired defenseman Justin Barron from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Alexandre Carrier (upper body). Barron has seen very little action lately with the Canadiens, and the team has decided to move on from him, replacing Barron with a more experienced player in defense. The 23-year-old, who was acquired from Colorado in the Artturi Lehkonen deal in 2022, skated in 109 games for the Canadiens, registering 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) with 129 shots, 121 blocks, and 132 hits. This season, Barron made only 17 appearances in Montreal, sitting out 11 games as a healthy scratch.

Justin Barron, Kaiden Guhle Back For Canadiens Thursday
Montreal Canadiens defensemen Justin Barron (upper body) and Kaiden Guhle (upper body) will rejoin the lineup on Thursday versus Washington. Barron returns from a three-game absence, while Guhle has been absent for five games. The two will provide a good boost for the Canadiens backline. Guhle, who boasts four points (one goal, three assists) in five games this season, is the more attractive fantasy option of the pair. He will skate with Mike Matheson on the first defensive pairing. Barron, who has been limited to one assist in seven outings, joins Jayden Struble on the third pairing.

Justin Barron Hurt In Tuesday's Loss
Montreal Canadiens defenseman Justin Barron was unable to finish Tuesday's game against the New York Rangers due to an upper-body injury. He exited the action in the third period after taking a big hit from Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba. Barron spent 15:01 on the ice but didn't register any stats in the contest. The 22-year-old has posted one goal, eight shots, eight blocks, and 13 hits through seven games this season. With Montreal off until the weekend, Barron gets some time to recover, but it might not be enough to face St. Louis on Saturday. Arber Xhekaj is in line to hop back into the lineup if Barron isn't available. Xhekaj has sat out a couple of games as a healthy scratch. He has gone scoreless in five outings this season, recording five shots, five blocks, and 10 hits with a minus-four rating.
