Colin White Earns Deal With Penguins

Forward Colin White has inked a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins. It's a two-way deal that comes with a $775,000 cap hit at the NHL level. Pittsburgh snapped him up after White spent the preseason with the team on a professional tryout agreement. With close to 300 NHL games under his belt, White has proven himself as a serviceable bottom-six forward, tallying 133 points (44 goals, 69 assists) with 411 shots on goal and 229 hits. He helped the Florida Panthers to the Stanley Cup Finals last season, contributing eight goals and seven assists in 68 regular-season appearances.

Colin White Returns On Second Line

Florida Panthers right wing Colin White (upper body) will be back in action against Boston on Monday, starting off on the second line. The 25-year-old has missed a couple of contests with an upper-body problem. White has averaged fewer than 12 minutes a night for the Panthers this season, but he has still found a way to contribute with five goals and seven assists in 29 outings. Teaming up with Florida's top scorer Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett will give White's fantasy stock a major boost.

Colin White Considered Day-To-Day

Florida Panthers forward Colin White (upper body) is considered day-to-day. He suffered an upper-body injury early in Tuesday's 4-0 win over Columbus and there were fears of him being out for a longer stretch, but White luckily managed to avoid serious injury. However, the 25-year-old still faces some time out of the lineup. White is currently in the middle of a poor spell, but he's done well for the Panthers in limited minutes, notching five goals and seven assists in 29 games across the season. Multiple injuries have even given him an opportunity to spend some time in the top six, but it's now White's turn to head to the shelf.

Colin White Unavailable Thursday

Florida Panthers forward Colin White won't play Thursday versus San Jose because of an upper-body injury. According to Panthers head coach Paul Maurice, White is carrying a minor injury, so he shouldn't be out for long and it's possible that he returns already Saturday against the Kings. White has quietly enjoyed a really nice start to the season, scoring eight points in 10 games despite averaging only 11:15 of ice time. He is third on the team in both goals (3) and assists (5). Nick Cousins will be taking over White's spot on the third line Thursday. He's still looking for his first points of the campaign.

Colin White Scores In Return From Injury

Ottawa Senators centerman Colin White (shoulder) returned from a long absence for Saturday night's game against the Montreal Canadiens after missing the first 50 games of the season with a shoulder injury. The 25-year-old center scored on the power play in his return to the lineup. He is known as a great locker-room guy and is loved by his teammates. He had a solid outing against the Canadiens with a goal, four shots on goal, two hits and a 57% success rate in the faceoff circle. White brings some stability to a Senators team hampered by injuries to some of their best players, including Drake Batherson, Josh Norris and Shane Pinto.

Colin White Out For 4-6 Months Due To Injury

Ottawa Senators forward Colin White will be sidelined for the next 4-6 months after suffering a dislocated shoulder in his team's preseason contest on Monday. White is expected to get surgery to fix the shoulder and will be out until at least February. The 24-year-old, who the Sens inked to a six-year, $28.5 million contract ($4.75 mil AAV) before the 2019-2020 campaign, has struggled to elevate his game to become a consistent second-line center. The Boston native posted just 18 points (10 goals, eight assists), a minus-six rating, 69 shots and 58 hits in 45 contests last season. Expect rookie forward Shane Pinto to make the Senators roster and center the team's second line at least to start the campaign.

Colin White Notches Power-Play Goal

Ottawa Senators forward Colin White scored the team's lone goal on a power play in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Montreal. Derek Stepan and Josh Norris collected the assists. Ottawa ended a nine-game slide against Montreal with a nice 3-2 win on Thursday, but quickly ended up taking another loss and they are set for a miserable year. White has done a decent job so far with four points in eight appearances, but only a handful of Senators players deserve the attention of fantasy managers this season and the 23-year-old isn't among them.

Colin White A Healthy Scratch Friday

Ottawa Senators center Colin White will be in the press box for Friday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. It is a surprising move, considering White makes $4.75 million per year, but head coach D. J. Smith said the younger forwards outplayed him throughout training camp. The biggest beneficiary is Josh Norris, who will serve as the team's top center against the Maple Leafs. The Senators may not win a lot of games this season, but their offense is certainly improved, making Norris an interesting sleeper in the early going.
