Eric Robinson Leads Columbus To Victory With First Hat Trick
Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Eric Robinson became a surprising hat-trick hero in Tuesday's contest against Buffalo, helping the team to a 5-3 victory. He netted twice in the second period and wrapped up the first three-goal game of his career with an empty-netter. Robinson became the third Columbus player with a hat trick this season, joining Kirill Marchenko and Patrik Laine. It was a very memorable outing for the 27-year-old, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect to see Robinson repeat it anytime soon. He's on only eight goals and 18 points in 54 games for the season, and he's never had more than 27 points in a single campaign.

He helped Columbus build a 3-0 lead with two first-period tallies past Jaroslav Halak. The first was set up by Alexandre Texier just 4:25 into the game. Then, the second goal came after some more brilliant work by the duo at 16:18. Robinson had three shots on goal and three scoring chances while playing almost 15 minutes in all. The left-winger now has six points in his last five games as Robinson could be on the cusp of some power-play time if this keeps up.
