Sebastian Aho Notches Two Points In Game 6 Loss

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho led the charge in Game 6 against the Rangers on Thursday, but his efforts weren't enough as the team got dumped out of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 5-3 defeat. Aho recorded a power-play helper when Seth Jarvis scored early in the second period, and he put the Hurricanes 3-1 up in the middle of the frame. However, the Rangers roared back with four third-period goals, meaning Aho's 2024 postseason ends with 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in 11 games. He can be happy about his contributions after also enjoying a career year with 89 points (36 goals, 53 assists) in 78 games during the regular season. With him turning only 27 in the summer, Aho looks set to be a top-tier fantasy asset for years to come.

Sebastian Aho Joins Exclusive List With 10th Postseason Point

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho bagged his 10th point of the 2024 playoffs in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rangers, becoming the 10th player in NHL history to reach the mark in at least six consecutive postseasons. He's the third active player in the group, joining Boston's Brad Marchand and Colorado's Mikko Rantanen. Aho has logged his 10 points with three goals and seven assists in nine games. Following a quiet start, he's put together a four-game scoring streak with a total of seven points (one goal, six assists).

Sebastian Aho Dishes Three Helpers In Tough Loss

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho did his best to tie up their second-round series against the New York Rangers, but even his trio of assists couldn't put the Canes on top in a 4-3 double-overtime loss in Game 2. Aho assisted on all three of Carolina's goals in this one and was dangerous all night with the puck. The Finn is up to eight points (two goals, six assists) in seven postseason games so far, doing his part to give his team a chance to win. He'll have to continue to dominate and get some help from his teammates if the Canes want to come back in this series.

Sebastian Aho Delivers Two Assists In Game 1 Loss

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho finished Sunday's 4-3 loss in Game 1 against the Rangers with two assists. He helped Jaccob Slavin get an equalizer early in the game and collected his second assist when Seth Jarvis scored the final goal late in the third. The Hurricanes star broke a mini-slump with the effort, having gone scoreless in the final two games of the first-round series against the Islanders. Aho also celebrated a franchise record on Sunday, passing Ron Francis for the most points in series-opening games in Hurricanes/Whalers history. He's on two goals and five points through his first six postseason appearances in 2024.

Sebastian Aho Posts Goal And Assist In Game 2 Win

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho was instrumental in the team's comeback 5-3 win in Game 2 over the New York Islanders, scoring the game-tying goal and assisting on the empty-netter that iced the game. Aho tied the game up with just 2:45 remaining in the third period, and the Canes scored again just nine seconds later to put themselves ahead for good. Carolina's top scorer showed why he is one of the most underrated players in the league in Monday's win and is part of the reason why the Hurricanes are a decent bet to go deep in these playoffs.

Sebastian Aho Leads Hurricanes To Victory In Toronto

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho recorded two goals and one assist as the team gave Toronto only its fourth defeat in 16 games on Saturday. Carolina won 5-4 in a shootout after Aho's goals late in the third period pushed the game past regulation. Two of Aho's three points came in power-play situations. Aho's scoring has been quite inconsistent in recent months, but he will still be delighted with his work, as the Finnish forward is on track for a career year. In 64 appearances, Aho has contributed 27 goals and 44 assists.

Sebastian Aho Makes Franchise History With Another Four-Point Game

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho dished out four assists in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Canadiens, becoming the first player in franchise history to register four-plus points in back-to-back days. After notching a goal and three assists in Wednesday's clash with Nashville, Aho helped Andrei Svechnikov get a hat trick and also collected an assist on a Jesper Fast goal. It's the first time in the 21st century an NHL player has posted at least four points in consecutive days. Aho's work this month also includes two three-point efforts. He's riding an eight-game scoring streak at home and has collected 39 points (14 goals, 25 assists) overall in 33 games.

He started the scoring with a power-play goal and amassed three assists, with two of the helpers also coming with the man advantage. It was a very special night for Aho, as he reached the 500-point mark with the outing. He's the fourth player in franchise history to record 500 points with the team and the second fastest behind Ron Francis. 35 of Aho's points have come this season in 32 appearances. He's lit the lamp 14 times while delivering 21 assists.

Sebastian Aho Notches Three Power-Play Assists In Tuesday's Win

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho had his second game of the season with three-plus points on Tuesday, completing a 6-3 win over Vegas with a hat trick of assists. All of his assists came in power-play situations against a team that boasts one of the best penalty-killing units in the league. Aho had a four-game run without points earlier in the month, but he's bounced back with four goals and four assists over a five-game span. The Finnish centerman continues to lead his squad in all the major offensive categories. With 29 games played, Aho has registered 12 goals and 18 assists.

Sebastian Aho Ends Dry Spell With Three-Point Effort

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho ended a four-game scoring drought on Tuesday with a very productive performance, logging two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over the Senators. His goals came in the second period and a power-play marker from Aho broke a 1-1 tie. The four-game drought marked Aho's second-longest stretch without any points since the start of last season. He's typically very consistent but ran into a wall, with the team also struggling to perform. Despite the drop in form, Aho has remained Carolina's top scorer and is averaging a point per contest, with 10 goals and 15 assists posted in 25 appearances.

Sebastian Aho Lands On Injured Reserve

New York Islanders defenseman Sebastian Aho (upper body) was placed on Injured Reserve on Monday. He sat out Saturday's clash with Philadelphia due to an upper-body and is now set to miss at least a couple of more games. The move is retroactive to Nov. 24, meaning Aho won't be available until the Islanders matchup against Florida on Dec. 2. Aho is sixth on the team with 26 blocks and has contributed four assists across 19 outings. The team also lost Adam Pelech (upper body) from the backline last week, giving Grant Hutton a chance to enter the lineup. Additionally, the Islanders claimed Mike Reilly off waivers, who is primed for his debut Tuesday versus New Jersey.

Sebastian Aho Could Be Back For Hurricanes Tuesday

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho (upper body) could be back in action Tuesday against Tampa Bay. Per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site, Carolina head coach Rod Brind'Amour has said "it's possible" Aho or goaltender Frederik Andersen (upper body) can play Tuesday. The Hurricanes have been without their No. 1 center for three games. Aho skated with Michael Bunting and Seth Jarvis to start the year, posting a goal and two assists in three games before getting hurt. Bunting has since then been accompanied by Teuvo Teravainen and Martin Necas on the top line.

Sebastian Aho Considered Doubtful For Saturday

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho (upper body) looks set to miss a third consecutive game Saturday versus Colorado. He's considered doubtful to play despite skating on Saturday morning. Teuvo Teravainen has centered the Hurricanes first line in Aho's absence, with Michael Bunting and Martin Necas flanking him. The Hurricanes are expected to insert Callahan Burke into the lineup Saturday. The 26-year-old made his first two NHL appearances last season with the Avalanche and posted 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists) in 70 outings with the franchise's AHL affiliate, the Colorado Eagles.

Sebastian Aho Dealing With An Upper-Body Injury

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho wasn't in the lineup in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Sharks because he is nursing an upper-body injury. Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour noted after the win that Aho "did something at the end of last game." Aho had a tough time against the Ducks on Sunday, finishing a 6-3 loss without any points and with a minus-two rating, but it's still been a strong start to the campaign for him. Across three outings, the two-time All-Star has tallied one goal and two assists. The injury forced Brind'Amour to mix up his lines Tuesday, and he had Teuvo Teravainen centering the first line, with Michael Bunting and Martin Necas on his wings. The trio worked well and combined for five points.

Hurricanes Lock Up Sebastian Aho With Eight-Year Extension

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho has signed an eight-year extension, general manager Don Waddell announced Wednesday. The Finnish star forward, who celebrated his 26th birthday on Wednesday, will be paid $78 million over the course of the deal, giving him a $9.75 million cap hit. "Sebastian has developed into one of the best two-way centers in hockey," Waddell said in a statement. "He's a tremendous leader on and off the ice who sets a great example for our younger players. We're grateful that he's decided to stay in Carolina for the foreseeable future." Aho, whose new deal will start in 2024-25, has spent his entire seven-year NHL career with the Hurricanes, collecting 468 points across 520 regular-season appearances with 218 goals and 250 assists. He had his fourth 30-goal campaign in five years last season, notching 67 points in 75 games overall.

Sebastian Aho Closing In On Long-Term Extension With Hurricanes

Carolina Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho is closing in on a long-term contract extension with the team, according to general manager Don Waddell. The Finnish star has one season remaining on a five-year, $42.27 million contract he signed in 2019 when Carolina matched an offer sheet he received from Montreal. Aho has been killing it throughout the deal, leading the team in goals every year and also topping the scoring chart every campaign until Martin Necas pipped him in 2022-23. "We're working on it, getting close," Waddell said. "Not there yet, but we are talking on a regular basis, almost daily, so I'm hoping that we can get this to the finish line here in the next week or so." Waddell added that Aho wants to be a Hurricane player "for life". Since making his debut in 2016-17, Aho has totaled 218 goals and 250 assists in 520 games with Carolina, developing into an elite fantasy asset.

Sebastian Aho Keeps Point Streak Going With An Assist

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho extended his points streak to four games with an assist in Wednesday's Game 1 victory over New Jersey. Aho failed to match a franchise playoff record with a four-game goal-scoring run, but he kept his overall scoring streak going with a helper on Brady Skjei's first postseason goal of the year. The Finnish star has been kept off the score sheet just once in seven playoff games this season, and he's totaled four goals and four assists.

Sebastian Aho Leads Hurricanes To Game 4 Victory Over Islanders

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho amassed three points as the team defeated the Islanders 5-2 on Sunday. Aho registered the game-winning goal and dished out two assists, including one on the power play. With his 20th career postseason tally, Aho became the franchise's all-time leading goal-scorer in the playoffs. He is also holding the record in assists (31) and points (51). It was Aho's 13th postseason multi-point game and that's a franchise record as well. He is the team's main offensive catalyst, especially in a situation where the Hurricanes have lost multiple top-six forwards to injuries. Through the first four playoff games this year, Aho has tallied two goals and five points.

Sebastian Aho Completes A Hat Trick In Overtime

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho ended a seven-game goal drought with his seventh career hat trick, finishing it off in overtime for a 5-4 win against the Flyers Saturday. He reached his fourth 30-goal campaign and only Eric Staal (5) has had more of them in a Hurricanes uniform. Aho also boasts 28 assists in 61 games. His scoring pace has dipped massively over the second half of the season and he was stuck on only three points for the month before Saturday's explosion in front of goal. The poor production has been a massive letdown for fantasy managers during a pivotal time of the season.

Sebastian Aho Tallies Three Points Against Arizona

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho had two goals and an assist for a nice three-point night in a 6-1 win over the Coyotes Friday. His first goal ended up being the game-winning tally and two of his points came with the man advantage. Aho now has nine points from his last seven games, although he continues to blow hot and cold, as he has grown his account with four multi-point efforts. Injuries have robbed Aho of seven games this season, but he still leads the Hurricanes with 27 goals and sits second in overall scoring with 55 points in 53 outings.
