Jordan Staal News
Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal (personal) will be back in action Thursday against Minnesota. He's returning from a one-game absence after not dressing Sunday against Vancouver for personal reasons. Staal's scoring pace has been below his career average in 2022-23, but he's done reasonably well as Carolina's third-line center, picking up 11 goals and eight assists in 43 games. He's a big force in the face-off circle with a 53.5 percent success rate and has handed out 88 hits this season.
Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal (upper body) is set to return to the lineup Thursday against Winnipeg. He was unavailable for Monday's meeting with Arizona after getting hurt on a hard hit from Colorado's Cale Makar last weekend. Staal joined Nino Niederreiter and Jesper Fast on the third line at the morning skate. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on the line because they have been very productive together in recent times and Staal has been benefiting from it the most, scoring six goals in his last eight appearances. The veteran forward boasts 16 goals and 34 points in 74 games for the whole season.
Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal (upper body) is considered day-to-day after getting hurt over the weekend against Colorado. He took a massive hit from Cale Makar in the third period and wasn't able to complete the game. Staal was, however, on the ice Monday morning, and it appears that he isn't badly hurt, although it looks like he won't play in Monday's game against Arizona. The veteran forward scored twice against the Avalanche on Saturday and has been very sharp in front of the net lately with six goals in four games. He's managed 16 markers overall for the campaign in 74 games, adding 18 assists to his tally with 206 hits.
Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal led the charge against Anaheim on Sunday with a hat trick and set an NHL record in the process. He last scored a hat trick on Nov. 11, 2008, and the 4,898 days between his two three-goal performances is the longest span between regular-season hat tricks in NHL history. Staal also rocked the Sabres with a two-goal game last week, and he now suddenly boasts seven points across his last four appearances. The veteran forward has managed 31 points for the whole season, adding 200 hits in 71 contests.
