Jordan Staal Inks Contract Extension With Carolina

Carolina Hurricanes forward Jordan Staal has re-signed a four-year contract extension that breaks down to $2.9 million annually to stay in Raleigh. He logged two markers and six assists in 15 contests in the playoffs. The Hurricanes captain will return for his 18th NHL season in 2023-24, having recorded 645 career NHL points in 1173 games.

Jordan Staal Dishes Out Two Assists In Wednesday's Win

Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal notched two assists as the team opened the second-round series against New Jersey with a comfortable 5-1 win. Staal set up Brett Pesce for the first goal of the game and also played a part when Jesper Fast wrapped up the game with an empty-net goal. With the two-point effort, Staal doubled his scoring total for the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The veteran forward now has 18 postseason points in total as a member of the Hurricanes and it puts him sixth on the franchise's all-time list.

Jordan Staal Returns On Thursday

Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal (personal) will be back in action Thursday against Minnesota. He's returning from a one-game absence after not dressing Sunday against Vancouver for personal reasons. Staal's scoring pace has been below his career average in 2022-23, but he's done reasonably well as Carolina's third-line center, picking up 11 goals and eight assists in 43 games. He's a big force in the face-off circle with a 53.5 percent success rate and has handed out 88 hits this season.

Jordan Staal Ready To Return

Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal (upper body) is set to return to the lineup Thursday against Winnipeg. He was unavailable for Monday's meeting with Arizona after getting hurt on a hard hit from Colorado's Cale Makar last weekend. Staal joined Nino Niederreiter and Jesper Fast on the third line at the morning skate. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on the line because they have been very productive together in recent times and Staal has been benefiting from it the most, scoring six goals in his last eight appearances. The veteran forward boasts 16 goals and 34 points in 74 games for the whole season.

Jordan Staal Considered Day-To-Day

Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal (upper body) is considered day-to-day after getting hurt over the weekend against Colorado. He took a massive hit from Cale Makar in the third period and wasn't able to complete the game. Staal was, however, on the ice Monday morning, and it appears that he isn't badly hurt, although it looks like he won't play in Monday's game against Arizona. The veteran forward scored twice against the Avalanche on Saturday and has been very sharp in front of the net lately with six goals in four games. He's managed 16 markers overall for the campaign in 74 games, adding 18 assists to his tally with 206 hits.

Jordan Staal Makes NHL History With First Hat Trick In 14 Years

Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal led the charge against Anaheim on Sunday with a hat trick and set an NHL record in the process. He last scored a hat trick on Nov. 11, 2008, and the 4,898 days between his two three-goal performances is the longest span between regular-season hat tricks in NHL history. Staal also rocked the Sabres with a two-goal game last week, and he now suddenly boasts seven points across his last four appearances. The veteran forward has managed 31 points for the whole season, adding 200 hits in 71 contests.

Jordan Staal Has Multi-Goal Game Against Penguins

Carolina Hurricanes forward Jordan Staal scored twice in Friday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Penguins. The 33-year-old contributed both of his goals in regulation to bring his season total up to eight goals and 21 points through 53 games. Staal is worth rostering in deeper fantasy formats and leagues with faceoff wins as the veteran center has picked up points in nine of the previous 13 games, which includes seven goals and four assists.

Jordan Staal Notches Two Goals On Tuesday

Carolina Hurricanes centerman Jordan Staal and his teammates beat the Nashville Predators 3-2 in overtime to win their sixth straight. Staal scored in the second period then added the game-winner in overtime. He has been on a roll lately with five points in his last three contests. Through 23 games, the Thunder Bay, Ontario Native has recorded 10 goals and 12 assists, centering Carolina's third line. Carolina will hope to win their seventh straight on Thursday as they host Nashville again at PNC Arena.

Jordan Staal Extends Goal Streak

Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal stretched his goal streak to four games on Wednesday, opening the scoring in a 4-3 overtime loss to Florida. Sebastian Aho and Vincent Trocheck also scored for the Hurricanes, who blew a 2-0 lead. Staal didn't have much luck in front of the goal early in the season, but he has now found the net with six of his last 10 shots. The Hurricanes captain sits on seven goals and 15 points for the season. He is currently among the hottest forwards in the NHL and shouldn't be on the waiver wire in any fantasy league.

Jordan Staal Posts Two Assists In Tuesday's Win

Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal registered a pair of primary assists in his team's 4-3 shootout victory over the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center on Tuesday night. With the two helpers, the 13-year NHL veteran extended his personal points streak to four games and he also added a plus-two rating and four hits in 15:22 of ice time. Staal has been a pleasant surprise through his first five games of the campaign, sitting over a point-per-game (one goal, five assists). While Staal has hit the 50-point plateau just once in his NHL career, the Ontario native could be considered a strong depth add as he provides solid peripheral production (eight shots, 18 hits) in addition to points. He'll look to find the scoresheet once again in a rematch versus Chicago on Thursday.

Jordan Staal Extends Points Streak

Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal pushed his point streak to three games on Sunday with a two-point effort against Dallas. He had a power-play goal and short-handed assist in the game, which the Hurricanes won 4-3 in overtime. Brock McGinn scored the shorty and Nino Niederreiter found his way on the scoresheet as well. Staal now has four points through four games with 14 hits, eight shots, a plus-one rating, and two penalty minutes. He is looking to produce a bounce-back season after notching only 55 points across the last two campaigns, and the Hurricanes captain is certainly off to a great start.
