Gabriel Landeskog Remains Without A Timeline

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog (knee) remains without a timeline for his return. The Avalanche captain hasn't played since the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals. He was expected to return to action in 2024-25, but with nearly a quarter of the campaign gone, it is still unclear when Landeskog will be ready to lace up his skates again. Injuries have decimated the Avalanche attack this season, but hope is around the corner. Jonathan Drouin (upper body) and Miles Wood (upper body) each could be ready to return on Friday against Washington. At the same time, Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar has confirmed that Valeri Nichushkin (suspension) will be back in the lineup for Friday's game.

Gabriel Landeskog Expected To Return Near Start Of Season

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog (knee) is expected to make his long-awaited return to action early next season. "He's trying to make a return here sometime near the start of the season and if that goes well, it would be a really big boost for us," Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said Saturday. "So, that's something we're all a little anxious about, but really excited about as well. He hasn't played for us in two years." Landeskog last saw action in the 2022 Stanley Cup Final, helping Colorado defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2. The Avalanche captain was a point-per-game player before running into health issues and should still produce at a high level once he finds his feet following the lengthy absence.

Avalanche Hope To Get Gabriel Landeskog Back For Playoffs

Colorado Avalanche left wing Gabriel Landeskog (knee) will miss the 2023-24 regular season, but the team hopes to get him back for the playoffs. "We're hoping," Avalanche general manager Chris MacFarland told The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun when asked about Landeskog possibly returning for the playoffs. "There's still so much that needs to be gleaned in this, so it's hard to put a timeline on it." The Avalanche captain has had multiple knee surgeries in recent years and already sat out the 2022-23 campaign. With Landeskog missing, Artturi Lehkonen saw a boost in playing time last season, and Jonathan Drouin could be the big beneficiary this time around as he's set to be reunited with junior teammate Nathan MacKinnon on Colorado's top line.

Gabriel Landeskog Ruled Out For Entire 2023-24 NHL Season

Colorado Avalanche left wing Gabriel Landeskog (knee) will miss the entire 2023-24 NHL season as he will undergo a cartilage transplant in his right knee on May 10, the team announced on Tuesday. It is an unfortunate situation for Landeskog, who missed the entire 2022-23 season due to a knee injury that he suffered last season on the way to the Avalanche becoming the Stanley Cup champions. Landeskog had arthroscopic knee surgery in October and was expected to miss 12 weeks at the start the campaign, but the recovery did not go as planned and he was later ruled out for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. Landeskog has six years remaining on the eight-year, $56 million deal that he signed prior to the 2021-22 season, and the captain will be placed on long-term injured reserve to allow the Avalanche to make free agent additions this summer.

Gabriel Landeskog Ruled Out For The Playoffs

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog (knee) will miss the entire 2022-23 NHL season, the team announced on Thursday. The Avalanche captain underwent arthroscopic knee surgery back in October and was initially slated to miss 12 weeks, but he sat out the whole regular season and Colorado has now announced that Landeskog won't play in the playoffs either. It's awful news for the defending champions who got 11 goals and 11 assists out of Landeskog in 20 playoff games last year.

Gabriel Landeskog May Miss The Entire Season

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog (knee) has resumed skating but may not be able to return this season. Colorado head coach Jared Bednar is even worried that the Avalanche captain might not be able to play on an elite level again. Landeskog, who has yet to play in 2022-23, had two knee surgeries in seven months last year. The two procedures weren't related and Colorado hoped to have him back for the playoffs after his second surgery in October, but Landeskog remains without a timetable for his return.

Gabriel Landeskog Out For 12 Weeks After Surgery

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery and won't be able to play for 12 weeks. Colorado's captain has already missed the start of the season and sadly we won't be seeing him for a while now. Landeskog's injury has opened up first-line minutes for Artturi Lehkonen, who has taken full advantage of the opportunity by averaging a point per game through the first four matches of the season. He's gone pointless in the last two games, but Lehkonen did produce a team-high five shots in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Winnipeg, and he won't be dropping out of the top six anytime soon.

Gabriel Landeskog Will Miss The Start Of The Season

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog won't be available at the start of the season because of an unspecified injury. Head coach Jared Bednar has said that his captain won't skate anytime soon and the injury dates back to last season. Landeskog sat out the end of the regular season last term after undergoing knee surgery. He returned for the playoffs and appeared in all 20 games, collecting 22 points. Hopefully, this isn't anything too serious and the 2019 All-Star won't miss a lot of time. Health issues robbed Landeskog of 31 games last season, but he was still able to register his second-ever 30-goal campaign and put up 59 points in total.

Gabriel Landeskog Scores Two Power-Play Goals

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog scored both of the team's goals in Monday's 6-2 loss to Tampa Bay. He opened the scoring 8:19 into the game on the power play and also lit the lamp with the man advantage early in the second. Cale Makar and Mikko Rantanen bagged the assists on both plays. The latter has already collected seven helpers against the Lightning, which marks the most ever through the first three games of a Stanley Cup Final. Landeskog has opened the series with three goals and one assist. He missed the end of the regular season following knee surgery, but the Colorado captain has fully recovered and put together a very nice playoff campaign with 11 goals and 21 points in 17 appearances.

Gabriel Landeskog Has Four-Point Outing In Game 3

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog recorded a playoff career-high four points in Saturday's 7-3 victory over Nashville. He had two goals and two assists, with half of the points coming with the man advantage. Landeskog finished with six shots in total and produced three blocks and three hits as well. The Avalanche captain has started the playoffs in very good form after missing the end of the regular season with knee surgery, going for three goals and six points in three games. Colorado has scored seven goals twice in the series and Jared Bednar's team looks set to complete a sweep Monday night.

Gabriel Landeskog Returns For Start Of The Playoffs

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog (knee) will return to action on Tuesday in the team's playoff opener against Nashville. Colorado's captain has missed 22 games after undergoing knee surgery on Mar. 14. Landeskog was killing it with 59 points in 51 games before going under the knife. He's lived through a lot of playoff disappointment in his career and will try to finally make a deep run. The Avalanche also hope to get Nazem Kadri (illness) into the lineup for Game 1. He's officially considered a game-time decision but is expected to play.

Gabriel Landeskog Set For Knee Surgery

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog is set to undergo knee surgery on Monday, head coach Jared Bednar said Saturday. Colorado's captain won't have a timeline for his return, but the team is hopeful of getting him back before the regular season is done and dusted. Landeskog is having a very fruitful campaign with 30 goals and 59 points posted across 51 outings. Alex Newhook has been benefitting from various injuries throughout the season and could get promoted back into the top six again. Life without Landeskog starts for the team on Sunday against Calgary.

Gabriel Landeskog Sustains A Lower-Body Injury

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog extended his point streak to 10 games with an assist in Friday's 7-3 victory over Detroit, but he was forced to exit the game with a lower-body injury. The Colorado captain suffered the injury in the second period and the team hasn't provided an update on his status just yet. It's a shame if Landeskog is forced to miss any time, as he's currently on the longest point streak of his career and it's been a great campaign for him overall with 27 points in 22 games. Colorado was also without Nazem Kadri (lower body) on Friday, so that's a third of the top six missing again and there are opportunities for others.

Gabriel Landeskog Hit With Two-Game Suspension

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog has received a two-game suspension for boarding Chicago's Kirby Dach in Wednesday's 4-2 win. The incident happened near the end of the game with 3:34 left on the clock. The Avalanche will be without their captain for Saturday's game against St. Louis and for Tuesday's trip to Washington. It's a bitter blow for the team as Nathan MacKinnon (COVID protocol) is already out, although there are hopes of him returning at the weekend. This is Landeskog's fourth suspension of his career.

Gabriel Landeskog Staying In Colorado

Veteran forward Gabriel Landeskog and the Colorado Avalanche agreed on a contract hours before he was set to become an unrestricted free agent. The team captain received a max-term deal at eight years worth $56 million. It will have a cap hit of $7 million per season. The 28-year-old left-winger was selected second overall by the Avalanche in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He's spent 10 years at the NHL level and has 218 goals and 512 points in 687 career games. He also has 45 points in 49 playoff games. Last season, Landeskog scored 20 goals and added 52 points in 54 games. He's scored 20 goals of more in seven of the past eight seasons and is a strong fantasy option especially with his supporting cast which includes some of the best offensive players in the game.

Gabriel Landeskog Gets Three Points In Sunday's Win

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog posted a power-play goal and had two assists in Sunday's 4-1 win over Anaheim, becoming the eighth player to collect 500 points with the franchise. Nathan MacKinnon extended the league's longest active point streak to nine games with one goal and one assist. Colorado's top line is having another wonderful season and Landeskog hit the 40-point mark on Sunday. He boasts 16 goals and 24 assists with 111 shots and 55 hits. Landeskog and the Avalanche will hit the ice four times next week, completing the schedule with a pair of very favorable games against Los Angeles.

Gabriel Landeskog Nets Milestone Goal On Power Play

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog scored a power-play goal in Monday's 6-2 loss to San Jose, moving past Peter Forsberg for third on the team's all-time goal-scoring list. Nathan MacKinnon and Nazem Kadri set up the Avalanche captain for his 203rd career goal. Samuel Girard also scored for Colorado, who ended up blowing a two-goal lead. Landeskog now has goals in back-to-back games ahead of Wednesday's rematch with the Sharks. The 28-year-old sits on five goals and 10 points for the year in 17 outings, which marks a disappointing scoring pace, but he should improve once the team gets going again.

Gabriel Landeskog Sidelined On Sunday

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will be out of the lineup on Sunday. Landeskog is on the COVID-19 protocol list. The Swedish forward has three goals and five assists through 11 games played. He typically plays on the team's first line. Brandon Saad will take Landeskog's place on this line skating with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.

Gabriel Landeskog Added To COVID-19 List

Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog is among the latest set of players who have been added to the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list. The Avalanche had a great start to the season, but it's suddenly looking very bleak as Nathan MacKinnon (lower body) dropped out of the lineup ahead of this week and now Landeskog won't be able to help his team either. Colorado's season is set to resume at the weekend with a back-to-back set against St. Louis. Landeskog has three goals and seven points in 11 games this season with a plus-one rating, eight penalty minutes, 32 shots, 20 hits, and six blocks.

Gabriel Landeskog Scores Two Goals In Victory

Colorado Avalanche left wing Gabriel Landeskog found the back of the net twice in Friday's 8-0 victory against the Blues. Landeskog was left wide open on his first goal of the game, and the forward's second goal of the contest beat goaltender Jordan Binnington for the 200th career goal of his NHL career. Avalanche forwards Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, Andre Burakovsky, Nazem Kadri, Joonas Donskoi and defenseman Devon Toews each scored in the victory. Landeskog should be started across standard fantasy formats moving forward.
