Canadiens And Flyers Named Among Martin Necas' Suitors

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas will have no issues landing a new job if he decides to leave Raleigh in the offseason. NHL insider Pierre LeBrun has reported that half of the NHL is interested in Necas' services, including the Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers. Necas has completed a two-year, $6 million deal and will be a restricted free agent in the summer. Multiple reports have suggested that he won't sign an extension with the Hurricanes. Necas, who just won the 2024 World Championship with Czechia, had a down year in 2023-24 with 53 points (24 goals, 29 assists) in 77 games. A move elsewhere could give him a new lease of life.

Martin Necas Ends Dry Spell With Pair Of Points

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas collected two points in Monday's 4-1 victory over the Rangers. He helped Jordan Martinook get the team's third goal and finished off the scoring himself with the net empty. Facing elimination for a second time in the series, Carolina exploded for four third-period goals. Necas had gone three games without any points before getting back on track Monday night. Despite the recent drought, Necas has remained among Carolina's top scorers in the postseason, producing eight points (three goals, five assists) across 10 outings.

Martin Necas Blows Avalanche Away With First-Period Hat Trick

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas looked superhuman at the start of Thursday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche, scoring three goals inside the first 16:51 of action. He joined Cory Stillman as the only players in franchise history to net a natural hat trick in the opening frame. This is the first hat trick of Necas' career. The Czech forward has been on a roll in front of goal lately, lighting the lamp seven times in as many games. It's boosted his numbers for the season to 16 goals and 34 points with 45 games played.

Martin Necas On The Cusp Of Returning

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas (upper body) could be back in action Friday versus Detroit. He has missed five games because of an upper-body injury. It's been an up-and-down season for Necas, which has so far culminated in a 26-point effort across 38 appearances. He's been kept off the score sheet in six of his last eight appearances. The Czech forward practiced with Michael Bunting and Jesperi Kotkaniemi on the second line on Wednesday.

Martin Necas Questionable For Meeting With Washington

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas (upper body) is regarded as questionable for Friday's tilt with Washington. He exited Thursday's practice early with an upper-body injury and could now miss his first game of the season. Necas has been slumping lately, but he has been among Carolina's top scorers with 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists) in 38 games. Stefan Noesen (illness) is also questionable, and Jesper Fast (upper body) remains out, meaning Carolina's attack could look quite different on Friday.

Martin Necas Scores Game-Winning Goal In Extra Frame

Carolina Hurricanes center/right wing Martin Necas scored his second overtime winner of the season in Tuesday's 3-2 victory against the Sabres. Necas connected with center Sebastian Aho on the winning goal as he redirected a pass in front of the net to give the Hurricanes their fourth overtime victory of the season. Necas is up to nine career overtime game-winning goals, including six over the past two seasons. Necas has totaled five goals and 11 points through 13 games, and the 24-year-old is a recommended option across all formats as he is coming off of a breakout season with 28 goals and 71 points during the 2022-23 season.

Martin Necas Wants To Take Another Step In 2023-24

Carolina Hurricanes center Martin Necas is eager to develop further in 2023-24 after enjoying a career year last term with 71 points. "It was a nice bounce-back season, I would say, after a year that was disappointing for everyone," Necas said at the NHL European Player Media Tour. "I was pumped to prove myself a little different than the season before. I had a great summer (last offseason). I had a great summer again this year, so ready to take another step and be better." Necas will enter the sixth season of his NHL career with 73 goals and 117 assists posted in 285 appearances. It's a contract year for the Czech forward after he signed a bridge deal in 2022. The Hurricanes have yet to discuss an extension with him, and Necas isn't thinking about it either. "It's just about me playing well and being good for the team," the 24-year-old said.

Martin Necas Shines In Stadium Series Win

Carolina Hurricanes right wing Martin Necas produced a game-high three points in Saturday's Stadium Series win against Washington. Carolina's second line combined for seven points in total in a 4-1 win and Necas had a power-play goal and two assists in the contest. The Czech forward has totaled 10 points in his past nine appearances and tops the team's scoring charts with 51 points in 55 games. Necas has previously been only a 40-point guy, so 2022-23 has been a major breakthrough campaign for him. With Carolina now set to face St. Louis, Ottawa and Anaheim, the stage is nicely set for Necas to continue his current hot spell for the rest of the month.

Martin Necas Moves Back Into Top Six

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas will be back on the second line Sunday against Anaheim. The 23-year-old is a wonderful talent who can fill spots throughout the lineup but is now reunited with Vincent Trocheck and Teuvo Teravainen. The two have combined for 105 points this season and their presence should help Necas to rediscover his offensive form as well. He finds himself on a six-game pointless spell ahead of Sunday's action. Necas' tally for the season stands at 35 points in 68 games.

Martin Necas Leads The Charge Versus Washington

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas was the main offensive catalyst in Monday's 6-1 victory over Washington, scoring twice and handing out one assist. He's now put together back-to-back multi-point performances to boost his tally for the season to 35 points in 63 games. Necas went through an ugly cold spell earlier in the month with only one point in 10 games, but he's hit form again ahead of the final stretch of the season. He'll be back in action Tuesday night versus Tampa Bay, against whom Necas has scored in both previous meetings this season.

Martin Necas Dealing With A Concussion

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas has been put in concussion protocol after he made an early exit on Saturday against the Kings. He was hurt after taking a hit from Sean Durzi and it's unclear when Necas can return to action. The 22-year-old Czech has scored seven goals this season and boasts 17 points from 27 games with 53 shots. He had a slow start to the campaign but has been in fine form since the start of last month. The Hurricanes are slated to resume their season on Dec. 27 against Florida.

Martin Necas Sustains An Upper-Body Injury

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas managed to log just three minutes of action in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Kings, leaving the game with an upper-body injury. The hits just keep on coming for the Hurricanes, who are already without Jordan Staal, Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov because of COVID-19 protocols. Necas had started to log very heavy minutes lately with all the absentees before getting hurt, but it looks like he'll miss some time now himself as well. The 22-year-old is having a strong campaign with 17 points, 53 shots and 20 hits across 27 outings.

Martin Necas Scores Lone Goal In Loss Sunday

Carolina Hurricanes center Martin Necas helped avoid his team from being shutout on Sunday. His goal 2:32 into the third period got Carolina back into the game but it was not enough. Necas converted a great feed from Seth Jarvis and was able to tuck one past Thatcher Demko. It was the Czech forward's seventh goal on the season and 15th point in 25 games. While Necas is not quite on the pace he was last season, his 0.6 points per game is slowing creeping upward nonetheless.

Martin Necas Collects Two Points In Sunday's Win

Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas had a goal and an assist as the team continued its perfect start to the season with a 2-1 victory over Arizona. He knotted the game up from the blue line 16:57 into the second period and picked up a power-play helper on Brett Pesce's first goal of the season with 2:27 left in regulation. Necas led all skaters with four shots and blocked one effort in 17:04 on the ice. The 22-year-old probably hasn't started the season as well as he would've liked and many fantasy managers have started to lose faith in him, but Necas produced a very nice campaign last term and should be able to up his productivity. He'll head into November with only four points to his name.

He skates with the red-hot Vincent Trocheck, who has recorded at least one point in 13 consecutive appearances. The duo should have another good outing in Monday's rematch against the Red Wings.
