Colorado Avalanche forward Martin Necas has agreed to an eight-year, $92 million contract extension with the team. This marks a significant pay raise for Necas, who is currently finishing up a two-year, $13 million deal. A source told ESPN's Emily Kaplan that Necas will earn $60.4 million in signing bonuses while having a full no-trade clause in the first seven years of his new contract. According to Emily Kaplan of ESPN, the Carolina Hurricanes have traded right wing Martin Necas to the Colorado Avalanche in a three-team deal. The Hurricanes acquired right wing Mikko Rantanen and Taylor Hall from the Chicago Blackhawks, while the Avalanche also received center Jack Drury. The Blackhawks received a third-round pick and are retaining half of Rantanen's salary.
