Jake Oettinger News
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 47-of-48 shots on goal in Tuesday's 2-1 victory against the Sabres. Oettinger's 47-save performance is a career high in the regular season, surpassing his previous high of 46 saves. The 25-year-old has picked up a win in four consecutive starts, while beginning the second half of the season on a positive note. Oettinger improves to a record of 17-9-2 to go along with a 2.96 goals against average, a .905 save percentage and one shutout through 29 appearances.
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger (groin) will return to the lineup for Friday night's clash with the Nashville Predators. The young netminder hasn't seen action since injuring his groin in a Dec. 15 contest against the Ottawa Senators. However, it's unclear if Oettinger will get the starting nod against the Predators on Friday, as the Stars are also in action on Saturday versus the Chicago Blackhawks. It's been a down season for the 25-year-old, who sports a 2.93 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage across 21 games, a far cry from the 2.37 GAA and .919 save percentage he turned in across a hefty 62 appearances a season ago. If he doesn't go Friday, Scott Wedgewood would get the nod with Oettinger going Saturday in Chicago.
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger (lower body) has moved from his week-to-week designation to a day-to-day state. Oettinger was skating during the team's optional practice Wednesday and is making good progress according to coach Pete DeBoer. Oetter hasn't played since December 15, but appears to be close to making his return. Although he hasn't been the same goalie he was last season, he is still a bonafide starter in fantasy and should be universally rostered and started when he returns. Scott Wedgewood will become just a streamer option when he returns to his backup role.
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger suffered a lower-body injury and left Friday's game against the Senators. Oettinger allowed two goals on four shots prior to exiting the contest, and the 24-year-old was helped off the ice at the 8:03 mark of the first period. Oettinger was replaced by backup goaltender Scott Wedgewood, who stopped 25-of-27 shots on goal to earn the victory in relief. Wedgewood is expected to get the start in Saturday's game against the Blues, while the veteran goaltender will be worth rostering in deeper formats if Oettinger is sidelined for an extended period of time.
