Jake Oettinger Shuts The Door On Wild On Monday

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped all 32 shots he saw en route to defeating the Minnesota Wild on Monday evening. The Wild held the slight advantage in the shot total, but Oettinger was able to lead the way. This outing extended Oettinger's winning streak to three games. During this stretch, Oettinger has held a .938 save percentage with a strong 1.65 GAA. However, before this recent stretch, the 26-year-old posted a much higher 3.58 GAA with a .883 save percentage over his last seven contests. Through 51 total games this season, the former 26th-overall selection has held a 33-15-1 record with a solid 2.49 GAA and a .909 save percentage. Fantasy managers should expect Oettinger to remain in the starting crease on Wednesday evening when they travel to Edmonton to face the Oilers.

Jake Oettinger Starting On Monday

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger will get the starting nod on Monday evening against the Minnesota Wild. Oettinger received the starting nod in their previous contest and picked up the victory as he stopped 22 of the 24 shots he saw against the Philadelphia Flyers. This evening, he will face a tougher task against the Minnesota Wild, who currently occupy one of the wild cards in the Western Conference. Over his past five contests, Oettinger has struggled to find consistency as he has posted a modest 3.59 GAA with a .865 save percentage and a 2-2-1 record. However, before this stretch, Oettinger held a strong 4-1 record with a .910 save percentage with a 2.99 GAA. DFS managers should consider starting Oettinger this evening, as the Wild have scored the ninth-fewest goals per game this season.

Jake Oettinger Sharp On Friday

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced en route to defeating the Los Angeles Kings on Friday evening. The shot totals were even throughout the game and Oettinger was able to lead the way. He allowed one goal in the opening frame to Warren Foegele and his second goal to Trevor Moore in the second frame. He would then stop all 10 shots he faced in the final frame. This was a nice bounce-back for the 26-year-old as he allowed five goals in his last start. Prior to this poor showing, Oettinger carried a 3-1-1 record with a .906 save percentage and a 2.97 GAA. Overall, Oettinger has posted a 28-13-2 record with a 2.42 GAA and a .910 save percentage. He has tallied one shutout. He will look to extend his winning streak on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues.

Jake Oettinger Starts Against Sweden

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger will start for Team USA against Sweden in Monday's 4 Nations Face-Off matchup. With a spot in the championship game already wrapped up for the Americans, Connor Hellebuyck will be rested on Monday, allowing Oettinger to make his first appearance in the tournament. Oettinger had a perfect 3-0-0 record when he last represented the USA, helping the team finish third at the 2021 World Championships. He is enjoying another solid season with the Stars, sporting a 26-12-2 record. The 26-year-old has allowed 2.35 goals while registering a .911 save percentage with one shutout. The Swedes have scored three goals in both of their outings thus far, so Oettinger should get a proper test on Monday.

Jake Oettinger Sharp On Sunday

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 33 of the 34 shots he faced on Sunday evening en route to defeating the Detroit Red Wings. Oettinger's lone blemish came in the final period when Marco Kasper beat him on a tip-in goal. The Stars got out to an early three-goal lead in the first period which set up Oettinger well to earn the victory. Since allowing four goals on January 7, Oettinger has allowed only two or more goals in one start and holds a strong 3-1 record with a 1.24 GAA and a .957% SV over his previous four outings. Through 34 games this season, the 26-year-old has posted a sharp 23-10-1 record with a .914% SV and a 2.26 GAA. He remains a must-start goaltender in all formats, playing behind a competing Dallas team. He will look to stay in the win column on Monday evening in Carolina.

Jake Oettinger Extends Winning Streak On Saturday

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced en route to defeating the Montreal Canadiens in a shootout on Saturday evening. This performance extended his winning streak to five games. Oettinger's lone blemish came in the second period when Patrick Laine scored on the power-play. He stopped all three shots he faced in the shootout. This was Oettinger's first time allowing one goal or less over his previous three games. During his five-game win streak, the 26-year-old has posted a .923% SV and a 1.94 GAA. Before this stretch, Oettinger lost his previous three contests and held a 3.41 GAA. Fantasy managers should continue to view Oettinger as a high-end option, as he plays behind one of the strongest defensive units in the sport. He should also be considered a solid option in all DFS competitions in all matchups.

Jake Oettinger Rock-Solid Versus Capitals

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger collected win No. 16 with 25 saves in Monday's 3-1 victory over Washington. An effort from Dylan Strome got past Oettinger near the end of the first period, but he frustrated the Capitals for the rest of the way, becoming the second-winningest goalie in the league this season. Oettinger carries a 16-7-0 record, putting him behind only Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck in wins. He has allowed 2.33 goals while recording a .913 save percentage and one shutout. Three of Oettinger's seven defeats this season have come in December. But he appears to have started to pick up form again, winning back-to-back starts and allowing just one goal in each contest.

Jake Oettinger Backstops Stars To Victory Versus Jets

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger put in an impressive performance against the Jets on Sunday, finishing a 3-1 victory with 26 saves. Oettinger was beaten by Adam Lowry early on, but he was then perfect with his work for the rest of the way, improving to 9-1-0 on home ice. Oettinger's overall record now stands at 13-4-0. He has allowed 2.38 goals while registering a .915 save percentage with one shutout. The Stars No. 1 is providing excellent fantasy value for managers again. We should see Casey DeSmith between the sticks Monday night versus Utah, with Oettinger likely returning to work on Wednesday against the Kings, who are riding a three-game winning streak.

Jake Oettinger Earns Second Victory Of The Season

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger earned his second victory of the season in shutout fashion as he turned aside all 34 shots he faced against the New York Islanders. Oettinger continued his hot start on Saturday evening as he tallied 30+ saves for the second straight game. In the season opener, Oettinger stopped 33 of the 36 shots he faced en route to defeating the Nashville Predators. The Islanders had the slight majority of shots but the 25-year-old was able to keep the scoresheet clean on Saturday evening. This is a nice start for the former first-round selection as he posted a career worst 2.72 GAA and .905 SV% last season. Jake Oettinger Nearly Flawless In Game 3 Against Colorado

Only Mikko Rantanen found a way to beat Oettinger as the Stars' goaltender improved to 6-4 for the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Oettinger collected his 19th career postseason win, which is the most in NHL history at age 25 or younger by goalies born outside of Canada. Dallas opened the postseason with back-to-back defeats against Vegas, but the team has been on a roll since, with Oettinger playing an important role. He's given up two or fewer goals six times in the past eight games.

He finished the series with a 1.95 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage. Oettinger will need to tame the Avalanche's fierce offense in Round 2. Jake Oettinger Tries To Bounce Back Wednesday

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger will aim to bounce back in Wednesday's Game 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights. He had a very rough start to the series, allowing three first-period goals in Game 1. The team eventually lost 4-3 on home ice, with Oettinger producing only 11 saves. The result dropped Oettinger's career postseason record to 13-14. Dallas will need a much better performance from him on Wednesday to keep pace with the defending champions. Jake Oettinger Shuts Out Seattle In 30th Win

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger posted his 30th win of the campaign in style on Saturday, registering a shutout in a 3-0 road win over Seattle. He needed to make only 17 saves to get his second shutout of the season. Oettinger has become the first Stars netminder with three consecutive 30-win seasons since Marty Turco had a six-year run at the beginning of the century. The 25-year-old is on a five-game winning streak, which has taken his record to 30-13-4. Oettinger's goals-against average has dropped to 2.87 this season, and he has a less-than-impressive .900 save percentage, but Dallas' No. 1 has been a consistent source of wins for fantasy managers. He will attempt to continue his current winning run in a tough matchup against Connor McDavid and the Oilers on Wednesday.

Jake Oettinger Set To Return Friday

Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger (groin) will return to the lineup for Friday night's clash with the Nashville Predators. The young netminder hasn't seen action since injuring his groin in a Dec. 15 contest against the Ottawa Senators. However, it's unclear if Oettinger will get the starting nod against the Predators on Friday, as the Stars are also in action on Saturday versus the Chicago Blackhawks. It's been a down season for the 25-year-old, who sports a 2.93 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage across 21 games, a far cry from the 2.37 GAA and .919 save percentage he turned in across a hefty 62 appearances a season ago. If he doesn't go Friday, Scott Wedgewood would get the nod with Oettinger going Saturday in Chicago.
