Jesper Wallstedt to Start in Goal for Minnesota on Saturday

Jesper Wallstedt gets the start in goal for the Minnesota Wild on Saturday evening against the Dallas Stars. Wallstedt has been the better of the two Wild goaltenders during the 2025-26 season. In 33 games started, the 23-year-old has a record of 18-9-6. He has four shutouts with a 2.61 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage. Wallstedt allowed two goals or fewer in eight of his final nine starts while posting a .930 save percentage since the trade deadline. The goaltender has a solid .830 high danger save percentage and Dallas scores more high danger goals than anyone in the league.

Jesper Wallstedt Picks Up Third Shutout of the Season

Minnesota Wild goaltender Jesper Wallstedt kept the Winnipeg Jets from scoring on Sunday, posting his third shutout of the season in a 3-0 road win. He has 32 saves in the contest, becoming the fourth-youngest netminder in NHL history with a season-opening point streak of at least eight games. The 23-year-old Swedish native has gone 6-0-2 to start the year. Wallstedt has won each of his last five starts, allowing only five goals. Incredibly, he has recorded all three of his shutouts this season over his last four appearances. Wallstedt is providing great competition to Filip Gustavsson, as the two goalies have alternated starts over the last couple of weeks.

Jesper Wallstedt Controls Flames

Minnesota Wild goaltender Jesper Wallstedt had a career-high 36 saves during a shutout performance in Sunday's 2-0 victory over the Calgary Flames. It was a busy night for Wallstedt, but he didn't flinch against the NHL's worst offense, becoming the fourth netminder in franchise history to pick up multiple shutouts as a rookie. Wallstedt, who is backing up Filip Gustavsson in Minnesota, has yet to lose in regulation this season, going 3-0-2. He has produced a 2.51 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. Gustavsson has not been great this season, which may lead to additional playing time for Wallstedt. He has started back-to-back games for the first time in his career.

Jesper Wallstedt Starts For Wild Sunday

Minnesota Wild goaltender Jesper Wallstedt will guard the crease in Sunday's tilt against Vegas. Minnesota finishes a back-to-back set, and with Filip Gustavsson (undisclosed) unavailable, Wallstedt will log his fourth start of the campaign. After getting lit up by Dallas in his NHL debut, Wallstedt has won two consecutive starts against Chicago and San Jose. He shut out the Blackhawks with 24 saves and stopped 27 of 29 shots in the matchup versus the Sharks. Vegas has much more quality than these two teams but also comes out with its backup in Ilya Samsonov, which should improve Wallstedt's chances of recording a win.
