Justin Danforth Expected to Miss More Than One Month

Buffalo Sabres right wing Justin Danforth (lower body) is facing a multi-week absence. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff told reporters on Friday that Danforth is dealing with a "significant" lower-body injury and is expected to be out for more than a month. The 32-year-old forward was injured in Wednesday's matchup against the Ottawa Senators. Danforth has no points in four games this season, holding a minus-two rating. Joshua Dunne will likely replace Danforth in the lineup on Saturday against the Florida Panthers. In his only previous appearance this season, Dunne finished scoreless with two hits across 6:25 of ice time.

Justin Danforth Set For Season Debut Versus Sabres

Columbus Blue Jackets right wing Justin Danforth (wrist) is poised to make his season debut in Thursday's matchup against Buffalo. He missed the first three contests of the season following offseason wrist surgery. Danforth will skate with Mikael Pyyhtia and Cole Sillinger on the third line, with Kent Johnson jumping to the second line. Kevin Labanc will make way in the lineup, sitting out the game as a healthy scratch. Danforth has 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) in 71 games with the Blue Jackets, including four points in the final two games. He certainly has some offensive ability and could do damage against a defensively fragile and tired team that played last night in Pittsburgh.

Justin Danforth Returns To Full Practice

Columbus Blue Jackets right wing Justin Danforth (wrist) went through full practice on Friday and should be ready for his season debut soon. The 31-year-old has been recovering from wrist surgery and missed Thursday's season opener against Minnesota. However, he could be back in action as soon as Saturday when the Blue Jackets face Colorado on the road. Danforth posted 10 goals and 26 points in 71 games last season. He practiced on the fourth line on Friday but could end up in a much more significant role, as the Blue Jackets have already lost multiple forwards to injuries.

Justin Danforth Remains Sidelined Thursday

Columbus Blue Jackets right wing Justin Danforth (wrist) will not play in Thursday's preseason game against Pittsburgh. The 31-year-old had wrist surgery during the offseason and only recently started to work on stickhandling. Danforth did a decent job on a struggling team last season, posting 10 goals and 26 points in 71 outings while being limited to around 14 minutes of ice time. He's previously been a scoring machine in Europe and could make an impact again in 2024-25 once he's ready to return. The Blue Jackets start their season against Minnesota on Oct. 10.

Justin Danforth Recovering From Wrist Surgery

Columbus Blue Jackets winger Justin Danforth (wrist) will miss the start of training camp. Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell has revealed that Danforth had off-season wrist surgery and is still having trouble stickhandling. He's scheduled for a doctor's appointment on Monday, which will determine Danforth's recovery time. Danforth broke into the NHL a few campaigns back after playing overseas. He has totaled 43 points (22 goals, 21 assists) in 122 career games. 2023-24 was by far his most productive season, as Danforth notched 10 goals and 26 points in 71 outings. He could play a decent role again in 2024-25, with Waddell openly admitting the team is short on forwards.

Justin Danforth Likely To Play On Saturday

Columbus Blue Jackets winger Justin Danforth (illness) is expected to play on Saturday against the Sharks. Danforth couldn't practice with the team on Friday due to an illness, but it looks like he will be good to go for Saturday's game. The 30-year-old has gone ice-cold lately by registering only one point in 14 appearances since the start of January, but he's done well overall to provide some depth scoring. In 52 appearances this season, Danforth has contributed nine goals and 10 assists.

Justin Danforth Sits Out Sunday

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Justin Danforth (upper body) won't be available for Sunday's clash with the Rangers. The 29-year-old impressed this week on the third line by scoring in back-to-back games, but he was injured in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Pittsburgh and hasn't been able to recover in time for Sunday's outing. Danforth's absence will allow Liam Foudy to make his season debut. The 22-year-old is a former first-round pick and will look to make a mark after failing to have an impact in the big league so far. Foudy has yet to score in the NHL in 27 outings and boasts only five points.
