Lukas Dostal Ruled Out for 2-3 Weeks

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal (upper body) will miss 2-3 weeks, the team announced Friday. He sat out a second consecutive game when the Ducks hosted the Los Angeles Kings. Ville Husso made his first start of the season, stopping 23 of 27 shots in a 5-4 shootout victory. Husso is set to share the goaltending duties with Petr Mrazek until Dostal returns. Mrazek is 3-3-0 for the campaign and holds a .881 save percentage with a 3.69 goals-against average. Both backups have struggled for Anaheim, but the team's hot offense may still keep them in the win column in the upcoming games. The Ducks have averaged 3.63 goals per game, ranking second in the league, only behind the Colorado Avalanche (4.00).

Lukas Dostal Out Wednesday Night

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal (upper body) won't be available for Wednesday's contest against the Vancouver Canucks. He is nursing an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day. Anaheim's No. 1 goaltender is having an outstanding campaign, sitting on an 11-5-1 record. He has logged a 2.81 goals-against average with a .904 save percentage. With Dostal out of commission, the Ducks will turn to Petr Mrazek on Wednesday night. Mrazek also holds a winning record at 3-2-0, but he is allowing nearly four goals a night this season (3.61) and holds a lowly .886 save percentage. Ville Husso, who was recalled from the AHL on Wednesday, will serve as Mrazek's backup.

Lukas Dostal Pushes Winning Streak to Career-Best Six Games

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal produced an impressive 23-save performance in Sunday's 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets, posting a new career high with a sixth consecutive win. Kyle Connor scored against Dostal early in the second period, but the Ducks offense, led by Leo Carlsson, once again proved to be too sharp for the opposing team. Anaheim has the league's most potent offense, helping Dostal put together an 8-3-1 record this season. He has logged a 2.66 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. While things look very rosy for Dostal right now, his winning streak will face a very tough test on Tuesday as the Ducks are scheduled to visit the Colorado Avalanche, led by NHL scoring leader Nathan MacKinnon.

Lukas Dostal to Start in Preseason Finale

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal (lower body) will be the starter for Saturday's preseason finale against the Los Angeles Kings, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports. This is great news for Anaheim and fantasy managers, as Dostal has recently dealt with a lower-body injury. His return to action on Saturday puts Dostal on track to be available for Thursday's season opener against the San Jose Sharks. Due to the team's lack of quality, Dostal has struggled to put together winning runs; however, his individual performances have been good. Over the past two seasons, Dostal has averaged 27 saves per game with a .902 save percentage.

Lukas Dostal Day-to-Day With Lower-Body Injury

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal (lower body) is day-to-day, the team announced Monday. Dostal has logged only 31 minutes of preseason action and may now be done for the remainder of the preseason due to a lower-body injury. Anaheim will likely want to avoid all risks with their No. 1 netminder, who earned a five-year, $32.5 million contract extension this offseason. Last term, Dostal had a 23-23-7 record over 49 starts. He collected one shutout and produced a 3.10 goals-against average with a .903 save percentage. Petr Mrazek and Ville Husso will serve as Dostal's backups this season.

Lukas Dostal Signs Five-Year Extension with Ducks

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal has signed a five-year, $32.5 million contract extension. The 25-year-old Czech native was a restricted free agent and avoided an arbitration hearing. Dostal posted a 23-23-7 record last season, allowing 3.10 goals with a .903 save percentage and one shutout. With John Gibson now in Detroit, the Ducks see Dostal as their undisputed No. 1 between the pipes. "Lukas has proven he is a No. 1 goaltender and we are so pleased to get this deal done," Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek said. "He is just entering the prime of his career with his best hockey ahead of him." Anaheim is hoping to get back into playoff contention next season, and with a stronger team supporting him, Dostal will have more fantasy appeal.

Lukas Dostal Stops 45 Shots In Victory

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal stopped 45 of the 47 shots he saw en route to defeating the Edmonton Oilers on Monday evening. The Oilers had more than double Anaheim's shot total, but Dostal enjoyed a career game. Dostal allowed the opening goal of the contest to Edmonton center Adam Henrique. His other blemish came in the final frame to Edmonton winger Jeff Skinner. This was also a much-needed bounce-game for Dostal as he allowed six goals on just 26 shots in his previous start against the Vancouver Canucks. This was the fifth time this season Dostal stopped at least 40 shots in a single game. With John Gibson (lower body) sidelined, fantasy managers should expect the 24-year-old to patrol the starter's crease for the remainder of the season.

Lukas Dostal Stops 43 Shots In Victory

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal stopped 43 of the 44 shots he faced en route to defeating the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday evening. The Ducks were heavily outshot in this contest, but Dostal was able to lead the way. His lone blemish came in the final minutes of the third period when Adrian Kempe beat him on a backhand shot. However, Dostal was able to shut the door during overtime and the penalty shootout to earn Anaheim the extra point. This victory extended his winning streak to four games. During this stretch, the 24-year-old has posted a solid .938 percent SV with a 2.13 GAA. He has allowed two goals or less in three of these contests. Even though Dostal has typically alternated starts with John Gibson, Dostal's recent play could earn him more opportunities after the international break.

Lukas Dostal Starting On Tuesday In Seattle

According to Derek Lee, Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal will get the starting nod on Tuesday evening against the Seattle Kraken. Dostal entered their previous contest in relief of John Gibson (upper body) and will likely see most of the starts for the time being while Gibson remains out. In this contest, Dostal stopped 35 of the 37 shots he saw over the final two periods of the contest. Over his previous five starts, Dostal has held a disappointing 4.18 GAA with a .872% SV. However, prior to this rough stretch, the 24-year-old netminder won his previous two starts. Dostal is a viable value play in DFS contests, given that Kraken has scored just six goals over their previous three games.

Lukas Dostal Stands Tall On Sunday

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal stopped 35 of the 37 shots he faced en route to defeating the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday evening. The Ducks were heavily outshot in this contest, but Dostal was able to lead the way. Dostal allowed both of his goals in the third period, one of which was a power-play goal by Andrei Svechnikov. This was a much-needed bounce-back showing for the young netminder, as he lost his previous two starts and surrendered nine goals over that span. Overall, the 24-year-old has posted an 11-12-3 record across 26 games with a 2.89 GAA and a .910% SV. Dostal will look to extend his winning streak against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday evening.

Lukas Dostal Looks To End Losing Streak On Friday

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal has been confirmed as the starter for Friday's clash against Minnesota. The 24-year-old has been one of the most impressive netminders in the league at the beginning of the campaign, but Dostal heads into Friday's matchup sitting on a three-game losing run. He has given up nine goals in his past two appearances. However, Dostal still owns an impressive .930 save percentage and has allowed 2.50 goals for the year while logging a 4-4-2 record. He's in a tough spot to improve his numbers on Friday, as the Wild have won nine of their 13 games so far, averaging the eighth-most goals in the league (3.62).

Lukas Dostal Shines In Season Opener

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal stopped all 30 shots he faced in the season opener en route to defeating the San Jose Sharks on Saturday evening. This was the 24-year-old's second career shutout. The shots were even in this game, but Dostal was able provide the difference maker in the divisional showdown. Last season, Dostal saw the most starts of his young career and held a modest .902 SV% and 3.33 GAA. Dostal will likely continue to serve as the starting option while John Gibson (abdomen) remains on the IR. Fantasy managers in shallow leagues should continue to monitor Dostal's development as he could be worth a look. DFS players should expect veteran James Reimer to get the nod in the second-half of a back-to-back on Sunday evening against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Lukas Dostal Dazzles With Shutout Versus Blackhawks

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal starred with a 29-save shutout against the Blackhawks on Thursday in a 4-0 win. He fended off 12 shots in the first period alone before the Anaheim offense started to click in the season. Dostal became the third rookie netminder in Ducks history to post a shutout, following in the footsteps of John Gibson and Ilya Bryzgalov. The 23-year-old has produced more than a few outstanding performances over the course of the season, but unfortunately, there's not a lot of quality playing in front of him. Dostal continues to carry a losing record with 11-19-1 and has allowed 3.46 goals with a .901 save percentage.

Lukas Dostal Getting The Nod Wednesday

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal is the starting netminder for Wednesday's game versus the visiting Ottawa Senators. The 23-year-old will make his third straight start over the struggling John Gibson as he stopped 81 of 86 shots (.942 save percentage) over his last two starts against top-10 offenses in the Devils and Canucks, winning a 4-3 decision over New Jersey before a tough-luck 2-1 loss to the NHL-leading Canucks. Despite his recent success, Dostal still owns a subpar 3.61 goals-against average and .902 Sv% across 29 outings (24 starts) on the season, albeit behind a very weak Ducks team. He is a decent streaming option on Wednesday against the last-place Senators but Ottawa still sits 13th with 3.27 goals per game on the season.

Lukas Dostal Sets New Ducks Record With 52 Saves

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal had a memorable night in the crease on Friday against New Jersey, helping the team to a 4-3 victory with a 52-save effort. It's the most saves a rookie netminder has had in Ducks history in a winning effort. Dostal's special night included an extraordinary finish, as the Devils were awarded a penalty shot with just 2.1 seconds left in regulation. Jack Hughes had a chance to collect his third point of the night and send the game to overtime but couldn't outplay Dostal, who improved to 9-15-1 for the season. He has allowed 3.67 goals with a .900 save percentage. It's been a struggle for Dostal, but it will have made Friday's victory taste even sweeter for Anaheim's young backup.

Lukas Dostal Will Start Friday, Shouldn't Be Trusted

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal will start Friday against the New York Rangers. Dostal has been reduced to a backup role after starting the season in a split with John Gibson. If he can get going, he has a chance to see more starts as the Ducks have been in a major slide recently and Gibson has been mediocre. Unfortunately, Dostal might be in tough tonight against a Rangers team that ranks fourth in the NHL in points. He shouldn't be started or streamed outside of extremely desperate situations.

Lukas Dostal Receives Two-Year Extension From Ducks

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal has inked a two-year extension with the club. It's a two-way deal for the upcoming campaign and a one-way contract for the 2024-25 season. The Athletic has reported that Dostal will earn $775,000 in the first year and his pay will rise to $850,000 in the second year. Dostal has made 23 NHL appearances, going 5-12-3 with a 3.65 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage. The 23-year-old played in 19 NHL games last season and went 11-21-0 in the AHL with the San Diego Gulls, allowing 2.97 goals per game with a .912 save percentage and three shutouts. The Czech netminder is set to start the 2023-24 campaign as John Gibson's backup in Anaheim.

Lukas Dostal In Goal Thursday For Anaheim

Anaheim Ducks netminder Lukas Dostal is set to guard the crease in their upcoming game on Thursday. In his last start, the Czech Republic native made 38 saves on 42 shots, earning his second win in three games as he led the Ducks to victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Despite being 22 years old, Dostal has performed admirably well this season but has received little support from his team, leading to his 4-5-1 record, 3.91 goals-against average, and .899 save percentage. Dostal will face a tough test in his next game against the Winnipeg Jets, who have won four out of their last seven contests.

Lukas Dostal Set For 11th Start

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal is expected to make his 11th start of the season Friday against Columbus. The 22-year-old will look to improve a 3-5-2 record. Dostal has struggled to keep pucks out of the net and sits on a 3.90 goals-against average while having posted a .898 save percentage. The Ducks allow a league-worst 39.0 shots on goal per game, so Dostal should bring plenty of saves for managers on Friday, and he also has a great chance to end up in the winning column, with Columbus owning the worst record in the league.
