The veteran had battled an undisclosed injury throughout training camp and preseason, but it looks like he will be good to go for the start of the regular season. Tampa Bay will start the action on Friday versus the Carolina Hurricanes. Glendening lacks fantasy value but has been a reliable fourth-line center for the Lightning. He finished the 2023-24 campaign with 10 goals and 11 points in 81 outings, winning 56 percent of his faceoffs.

Detroit Red Wings forward Luke Glendening was responsible for both of the team's goals in Monday's 3-2 shootout loss against Dallas, tying things up twice in the second period. Alex Biega registered assists on both goals. Robby Fabbri (upper body) missed an eighth straight game and Jakub Vrana (illness) was out, so Detroit needed somebody to step up on the offensive front and Glendening managed to do it. He was on only three goals for the season ahead of the contest, so don't expect the veteran to repeat the feat anytime soon. Glendening missed two games with an upper-body injury before playing again on Saturday. The Grand Rapids, Michigan native, was slotted on the fourth line playing along with center Frans Nielsen and winger Adam Erne on the right side. Glendening had zero points going into Saturday's game and he has played in 14 games thus far. Detroit will host the Chicago Blackhawks at home on Monday.
