Matt Rempe Out Week-To-Week Due To Upper-Body Injury
New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe (upper body) is set to miss some time after the team labeled him as week-to-week. Rempe has sustained an upper-body injury and will come out of the lineup on Friday against the Anaheim Ducks. With only three weeks remaining in the regular season, Rempe's campaign could be over. The 22-year-old enforcer has registered five points (two goals, three assists) in 36 games, along with 103 hits and 63 penalty minutes. Brett Berard, who has totaled eight points (four goals, four assists) in 28 games, may see regular action during Rempe's absence.
New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe has received an eight-game suspension. The 22-year-old was handed the suspension for boarding and elbowing Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen in Friday's 3-1 win. Rempe racked up 17 penalty minutes and was tossed from the game. He has now recorded 24 penalty minutes across five NHL appearances this season. Jimmy Vesey replaced Rempe in the lineup on Sunday, scoring the Rangers' lone goal in a 3-1 defeat to Carolina. This was only the fourth point of the campaign for Vesey, who does not have fantasy value.
New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe has been suspended four games for elbowing New Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler in the head on Monday. The suspension doesn't come as a surprise, as the hit was vicious and Rempe has had a few suspect hits already in his short career. New York plays four more games this week, so he will be eligible to return next Tuesday against Winnipeg. Rempe doesn't really do much other than hit and get PIM, but if your league counts those he carries some value.
