Nikita Zadorov Set To Rejoin Bruins Lineup Saturday

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Nikita Zadorov has been fined $5,000 for cross-checking Connor McDavid in Sunday's Game 3 of the second-round series against the Edmonton Oilers. It's the maximum allowable fine under the collective bargaining agreement. Zadorov cross-checked McDavid from behind after the final buzzer. Vancouver will be happy to know Zadorov escaped the incident without a suspension, unlike fellow blue-liner Carson Soucy, who will be forced to sit out Game 4 for his involvement in Sunday's end-of-the-game scrum. Zadorov has been a huge force for the Canuck at both ends of the ice this postseason, posting seven points (four goals, three assists) with 14 blocks and 30 hits in nine appearances.

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Nikita Zadorov will be sidelined for Saturday's matchup against New Jersey with an undisclosed injury. The 28-year-old will miss his first action as a Canuck since he arrived via a trade from Calgary on Nov. 30. Zadorov debuted with an assist for his new team, but he's added only one more point to his tally in 14 appearances and continues to be more known as a stay-at-home defenseman. The Russian rearguard has notched 16 blocks and 20 hits in Canucks colors without the puck. He will be replaced by Carson Soucy, who's ready to return from a lower-body injury to make his first appearance since Nov. 12
The Vancouver Canucks have acquired defenseman Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames in exchange for two draft picks. The picks are a 2024 fifth-round and a 2026 third-round selection. Vancouver bolsters their defense by adding Zadorov to the team, as he should immediately see second-pairing minutes for the Canucks. The six-foot-six Russian also adds a physical element, posting 41 hits and 19 blocks over 21 games with the Flames this season. Calgary gets a few low-end picks back and gains some cap space in the deal.
Flames Haven't Had Any Extension Talks With Nikita Zadorov
Calgary Flames defenseman Nikita Zadorov has admitted that he hasn't received any contract offers from the team despite heading into the final year of his current pact. Zadorov was signed up for two years and $7.5 million in 2022. He reacted by exploding for a career-high 14 goals in 2022-23. The towering blue-liner added seven assists in 82 games while registering 130 shots on goal and 174 hits. Zadorov has said he wants to remain a Flame "for life," but it looks like the team currently isn't on the same page.
Calgary Flames defenseman Nikita Zadorov had the game of his life Wednesday against San Jose, scoring his first career hat trick in a 3-1 win. He became only the second defenseman ever to score a natural hat trick for the Flames. The club previously had only five rearguards in total with a hat trick in a game. Zadorov is known as a stay-at-home defenseman, so his Wednesday's performance came completely out of the blue. The 27-year-old, who had never previously had a multi-goal game, wrapped up his ninth season in the league with 21 points in 82 games. He also had 130 shots on goal, 174 hits and 75 blocks with 80 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating.
