Boston Bruins forward Morgan Geekie had one of the best nights of his life on Thursday in a matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights, helping the team to a 5-4 victory with his first NHL hat trick. Geekie potted a pair of first-period goals and completed his three-goal night late in the second. He was incredibly efficient in front of the net, scoring with all three shots he had on goal. The three-goal effort also helped Geekie post a new career high in points. He's tallied 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) in 55 games during his debut campaign in Boston. Geekie has seen quite a bit of top-six action but has been centering the third line in recent times. Despite the lesser role, he has averaged close to a point per game across his last seven appearances.
Morgan Geekie Out Week-To-Week With Upper-Body Injury
Boston Bruins center Morgan Geekie (upper body) will miss some time with an injury suffered in Monday's game against the Dallas Stars. He finished the contest, but head coach Jim Montgomery said on Wednesday that Geekie is week-to-week. The 25-year-old has been playing third-line minutes with Trent Frederic and rookie Matthew Poitras, a line that has looked quite good so far, and has also been on the second powerplay unit. He's a much better real-life player than fantasy player, so he can be left on waivers.
Seattle Kraken center Morgan Geekie (personal) is set to rejoin the lineup for Monday's Game 4 against Colorado. He missed the previous game for the birth of his child but rejoined the team for Monday's morning skate. Geekie has tallied one goal with three shots on net and two hits in the series in two games with a plus-two rating. He is expected to rejoin Jaden Schwartz and Alexander Wennberg on the second line. Brandon Tanev will be dropping back down to the fourth line.
