With another forward out injured, Kirill Marchenko stepped up into a top-six role Tuesday against Philadelphia and impressed by scoring a goal. He crushed it in the AHL earlier in the campaign with 19 points in 16 games, and we could see him doing something similar now for Columbus if Marchenko can stick on a scoring line.

All the absentees had elevated Chinakhov to a top-six role, but he could now face some time off himself. The 21-year-old has posted four goals and nine assists in 30 outings this season. Kirill Marchenko could be the next man up if Chinakhov exits the lineup. He has already been getting power-play time and top-six minutes will give Marchenko's fantasy stock a further boost, although he hasn't really done anything yet to warrant a pickup in any league.

The 21-year-old will hope to maintain his good scoring form against the Islanders, having picked up four points in his past five appearances. Chinakhov boasts 10 points overall for the season in 18 games. He'll go on the fourth line, but we should also see Chinakhov skate with the second power-play unit. The young Russian will be eager to impress and earn himself a spot among the top six. Columbus's attack has been badly hit by injuries and is currently without Jakub Voracek (upper body) and Patrik Laine (ankle).

He missed Tuesday's practice with an undisclosed injury and wasn't on the ice for the morning skate either. The 21-year-old is forced to take a seat after enjoying his best spell of the season with four points in five games. Chinakhov has managed 10 points in total this season in 18 games with 24 shots and 23 hits. He's an exciting player, but Chinakhov tends to be very inconsistent with his performances, which hopefully will change once he is more experienced. His absence gives Liam Foudy a chance to soak in some action. Jack Roslovic (illness) also re-enters the lineup Wednesday, replacing Brendan Gaunce.
