Addison Barger Moves into Starting Lineup for Game 2

Toronto Blue Jays infielder/outfielder Addison Barger will slide into the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's Game 2 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Barger blasted a pinch-hit grand slam during Game 1 of this series. He has been on fire this season, Barger is slashing .324/.405/.622 through 42 plate appearances. As a result, Barger will take over in right field and bat seventh versus right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Saturday. Myles Straw will head to the bench after starting in right field to begin the series.

Addison Barger Playing in Game 4

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Addison Barger is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's Game 4 of the ALDS against the New York Yankees. It has been a quiet series for Barger who is currently 1-for-7 during his two games in this series. He'll get a chance to snap out of his slump during Wednesday's contest. Barger will bat cleanup and play third base versus right-hander Cam Schlittler. This won't be an ideal matchup for Barger against Schlittler who tossed eight shutout innings during the Wild Card round.

Addison Barger Out of Lineup for Game 2 of ALDS

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman/outfielder Addison Barger isn't in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the ALDS against the New York Yankees on Sunday. The lefty-swinging Barger, who went 1-for-4 in a 10-1 rout on Saturday, will take a seat with southpaw Max Fried on the mound. Ernie Clement will cover third base and hit sixth versus left-hander Max Fried, while Isiah Kiner-Falefa will play second and bat seventh. Barger put up a .243/.301/.454 line with 21 homers, 74 RBI, 61 runs, and four stolen bases over 502 plate appearances during the Jays' AL East-winning regular season. However, he did little damage against lefties, who held him to a .217/.270/.337 line with one HR in 89 trips to the plate. While it's a small sample, Kiner-Falefa has gone an impressive 4-for-8 with two RBI off Fried.

Addison Barger Tallies Three Extra-Base Hits on Thursday

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman/outfielder Addison Barger continued his breakout campaign on Thursday, going 3-for-4 with a homer and two doubles in a 8-5 win over the New York Yankees. Barger hit an RBI double in the first, doubled again in the third, and then hit a solo shot in the fifth. He is now up to a .272 AVG with 34 runs, 11 homers, 32 RBI, and two steals in 213 at-bats. The 25-year-old has been a revelation for the Jays, and he is actually underperforming his statcast data. There may be something special here, and Barger is certainly worth picking up in case this breakout is for real. He is still out there in plenty of leagues, and he should be rostered in all but the shallowest of leagues at this point.

Addison Barger Scratched With Hip Discomfort

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder/infielder Addison Barger (hip) was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Chicago White Sox due to right-hip discomfort, according to MLB.com's Keegan Matheson. With Barger now out of the lineup, Nathan Lukes will start in right field and bat out of the two-hole against White Sox right-hander Aaron Civale. Until we know more about Barger's injury, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day. The 25-year-old has been solid offensively for the Blue Jays in June, hitting .276 (16-for-58) with four home runs, five doubles, 10 RBI and 11 runs scored in 16 games. If he's forced to miss additional time or go on the injured list, Davis Schneider would benefit from more playing time in a corner-outfield spot in Toronto. Barger is slashing .270/.332/.500 on the year with an .832 OPS, eight homers, 24 RBI and 25 runs scored in 174 at-bats.

Addison Barger Hits Walk-Off Homer Tuesday

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman/outfielder Addison Barger played the hero in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks. Barger went 2-for-5 with a double, a walk-off solo home run, and a strikeout. The 25-year-old stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning with one out and the game tied 4-4. Barger went back-to-back with Bo Bichette to end the game, obliterating a Shelby Miller offering deep into the right-field seats. Barger has been a surprising source of power for fantasy managers this season, slashing .264/.322/.497 with eight HR, 23 RBI, and a stolen base in 177 plate appearances. He is currently rostered in just 39 percent of leagues, making him an available option for fantasy managers in need of a spark to their lineups.

Addison Barger Batting Third on Wednesday

Toronto Blue Jays infielder/outfielder Addison Barger is starting at third base and is batting in the three-hole in Wednesday's game at the Rogers Centre against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies and rookie right-hander Mick Abel, who will be making just his second start in the majors. Barger, 25, is one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now and is gaining opportunities in the Jays lineup with both Anthony Santander (shoulder) and Daulton Varsho (hamstring) on the injured list. He went 2-for-4 in Tuesday's loss to the Phils while homering for a fourth straight game. In addition to the power of late, Barger has hit safely in his last six games, going 9-for-21 (.429) with four homers, a double, eight RBI and seven runs scored. The former sixth-rounder in 2018 has become an everyday player for Toronto and is currently slashing .274/.338/.508 with an .846 OPS, six homers and 19 RBI in 124 at-bats.

Addison Barger Goes Yard For the Fourth Game in a Row

Toronto Blue Jays' outfielder Addison Barger blasted his sixth home run of the season on Tuesday, and the fourth in his last four games. The home run came in the eighth inning, with the Blue Jays down 8-1 in the contest. However, it was a two-run shot, and Barger finished his evening going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored. He has been on a tear the last seven days, slashing .429/.478/1.048 with nine hits, four home runs, eight RBI, and seven runs scored. Fantasy managers looking to stream a hot bat will want to pick up Barger and ride out the streak, but be aware, that in 332 plate appearances at the MLB level, Barger is slashing .226/.283/.410 with 13 home runs, so if he does not stay hot, feel free to drop him. Next up for the Blue Jays is game two of their three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies

Addison Barger Homers In Fourth Consecutive Game Tuesday

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman/outfielder Addison Barger continued his impressive streak in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Phillies. Barger went 2-for-4 with a single, a two-run home run, and a strikeout. He also made a throwing error in right field. The 25-year-old turned on an eighth-inning Max Lazar fastball, launching it over the left-field wall. Barger has now homered in each of his last four games, bringing his season total to six. He has emerged as a source of power and batting average for fantasy managers, slashing .274/.338/.508 with 19 RBI in 136 plate appearances. He hasn't seen much playing time against left-handed pitchers, but he is currently just 26 percent rostered and has hit so well that he could provide a boost to fantasy managers' lineups even if he doesn't always play against lefties.

Addison Barger Homers Again in Victory

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Addison Barger went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 8-4 win against the Athletics. The 25-year-old stepped to the dish with his team down two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and promptly deposited a first-pitch Justin Sterner fastball 412 feet over the right-field wall. It gave the Blue Jays a 5-4 lead and would spark a massive six-run outburst. That marks three straight appearances with a homer for him, notching at least one hit in five straight. The streak has him up to five long balls on the year, and a solid .267 batting average (32-for-120) in 38 games. Despite the middling statistics, Barger boasts a fantastic .306 xBA, and has vastly outproduced the average exit velocity (95.1 MPH) and hard-hit rate (55.9%) figures he sported in 2024.
