Is Braden Montgomery Still Worth Stashing Amid Triple-A Skid?

Chicago White Sox top hitting prospect Braden Montgomery has hit a bit of a skid at the top club in the minor leagues over the past week. After putting together a dominant start to his time at Triple-A, the former first-round pick has gone 0-for-13 over his last five games while holding a 7:3 K:BB. However, prior to this, Montgomery carried a much higher .283/.348/.467 slash line with five doubles, two home runs, and one stolen base over his first taste of Triple-A earlier in May. Montgomery began the regular season with Double-A, but needed only another 27 gams at that level to prove he was ready to join the top ranks. If Montgomery can snap out of this skid in the immediate future, the young slugger should firmly be back on the stash radar, given Chicago's lack of depth in the outfield.

Braden Montgomery Enters Week 9 as No. 1 Prospect to Stash?

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Braden Montgomery recently moved up to Triple-A and enters Week 9 as an elite stash option among hitting prospects. Even though Montgomery has endured a brief three-game hitless skid, the team's top hitting prospects remain on the verge of an MLB debut. Prior to this short slump, Montgomery enjoyed a dominant start to his Triple-A campaign, posting a .283/.348/.467 line with five doubles, two home runs, and a stolen base over his first 14 games. He opened the season at Double-A Birmingham but needed only 27 games to prove he was ready to face the top pitching in the minor leagues. With Double-A, Montgomery posted a 1.035 OPS with six long balls and two stolen bases. Given that Chicago lacks much depth in their outfield, Montgomery could debut before the end of June, making him a top stash option in all formats.

Braden Montgomery Hitting Well at Triple-A, a Top Prospect to Stash?

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Braden Montgomery continues to produce impressive results at the plate following his promotion to Triple-A earlier this month. Across 15 games with the Charlotte affiliate, he's slashing .274/.338/.452 with two homers, five walks, 18 strikeouts, and 96 wRC+. Although it's a bit too soon for the White Sox to call Montgomery up to the majors, we wouldn't be surprised if he makes his MLB debut at some point this summer. The 23-year-old has produced at every level, offering plus power and defense, as well as average speed and a solid hit tool. Montgomery's average exit velocity of 93.3 mph (94th percentile) should play at the next level, resulting in plenty of power. Therefore, he's a top prospect to stash in fantasy baseball leagues. He ranks #19 among outfield prospects in RotoBaller's latest dynasty rankings.

Braden Montgomery Entering Must-Stash Territory with Performance at Triple-A

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Braden Montgomery has appeared unfazed by his transition to Triple-A pitching, going 15-for-50 (.300) over his first 12 games, with three doubles, two home runs, and a stolen base thus far. A 26.8 percent strikeout rate is on the high side, but mostly unchanged from the 25.4 percent rate he recorded in 27 games at Double-A, while the Texas A&M product is drawing walks at an average rate of 8.9 percent. The switch-hitter showed some power (12 home runs) and some speed (14 steals) in 2025, and if he can continue to produce at Triple-A, a promotion to the big league club looks likely by midseason. With his all-around skillset, Chicago's second-ranked prospect is a worthwhile stash option in deeper leagues for his potential to contribute across multiple categories.

Braden Montgomery Emerging as Priority Hitting Prospect to Stash

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Braden Montgomery is seeing his stash value continue to increase, and he enters Week 8 as one of the top hitting prospects to stash. Montgomery opened the campaign at the Double-A level but has since been promoted to Triple-A and is now on the verge of joining the White Sox. With Double-A, the former first-round pick swung a hot bat, which led to his early promotion. At this level, Montgomery posted a .313/.429/.606 slash line with five doubles, three triples, six home runs, and two stolen bases. Since moving up to the top level of the minor leagues, the outfielder has gone 8-for-33 with one home run and an 11:3 K:BB. If Montgomery continues to improve, he could find an easy path to join the current Chicago outfield that is currently dealing with many injuries, including to Everson Pereira and Austin Hays.

Braden Montgomery Seeing Stash Value Soar as MLB Debut Looms Closer

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Braden Montgomery was recently promoted to Triple-A and is quickly approaching his MLB debut. Montgomery is considered the top hitting prospect in the White Sox system and remains just one stop away from joining the MLB roster. Montgomery began his 2026 campaign with Double-A but needed only another 27 games at the level to prove he was ready to face the top pitching in the minor leagues. At Double-A, Montgomery held a .313/.429/.606 line with five doubles, six home runs, and two stolen bases. Since moving up to Triple-A Charlotte, Montgomery has gone 7-for-23 with two doubles and an 8:2 K: BB over a short five-game stint. If Montgomery continues this pace, the former 12th overall selection could debut in Chicago in the near future, making him a prime stash option for those in standard 12-team leagues.

Braden Montgomery Notches First Triple-A Hit as MLB Debut Inches Closer

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Braden Montgomery went 1-for-5 with a single in his second game at the Triple-A level on Wednesday. He's now just 1-for-9 since his promotion, but he posted a fantastic .296/.412/.565 slash line with six homers, a 16.2% walk rate, and 148 wRC+ when he was at Double-A this year. We expect that Montgomery will fare well at the plate in Charlotte, even though he has just one hit through his first two games. He's widely regarded as a plus hitter with impressive power and glovework. The 23-year-old also has high draft capital as a former first-round pick. Montgomery ranks #19 among outfield prospects in RotoBaller's latest fantasy baseball dynasty rankings. Now that he's just one level away from the majors, he's absolutely worth stashing in anticipation of his eventual debut.

Is Braden Montgomery Nearing His MLB Debut?

Chicago White Sox top prospect Braden Montgomery is quickly approaching his MLB debut and could reach the big leagues much sooner than anticipated. The team's No. 1-ranked prospect and the overall No. 31 prospect according to MLB.com began the 2026 campaign with Double-A but has since been promoted to Triple-A, putting him just one stop away from the majors. At Double-A (27 games), Montgomery showcased his elite raw potential, posting a .313/.429/.606 line with five doubles, six home runs, and two stolen bases. Last summer, Montgomery spent most of his time with High-A before joining Double-A later in the second half of the campaign. Currently, the White Sox do not have much depth in the outfield as they recently turned to fellow prospect Sam Antonacci to hold the starting left field job. If Montgomery is able to carry this momentum into his first stint with Triple-A, he could debut in the coming weeks.

Braden Montgomery Promoted to Triple-A, Entering Must-Stash Territory?

Chicago White Sox outfielder Braden Montgomery was promoted to Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday, according to Brooke Fletcher. The young stud outfielder is well deserving of a promotion after crushing the ball at Double-A. In 26 games, Montgomery is slashing .316/.430/.621 with six home runs, 22 RBI, and 20 walks. The former first-round pick from 2024 could be on the fast track to the South Side of Chicago. The White Sox could certainly use help in the outfield, so they might not be shy to call up Montgomery, assuming he continues this level of play at Triple-A. Fantasy managers in deep leagues should consider stashing Montgomery in case he does receive the call to The Show soon.

Braden Montgomery Heating Up After Two-Homer Game

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Braden Montgomery belted a pair of home runs on Sunday at Double-A Birmingham, breaking a 3-for-26 (.115) slump. Chicago's top-ranked prospect hit a home run in his first game of the season, but went into a seven-game slump immediately after, and hopefully Sunday's two-home run effort is a sign he's about to break out of that funk. Despite the poor hitting results, the switch-hitter has been getting on base with a strong 18.6 percent walk rate thus far, a trait he displayed throughout 2025. The former first-round draft pick climbed from Single-A to Double-A in 2025, hitting well at each stop and producing a .270/.360/.444 slash line with 12 home runs, 14 steals, and an 11.0 percent walk rate in 121 games overall. The 22-year-old could see a late-season call-up, but before that, he'll need to keep hitting and earn a promotion to Triple-A, so, for now, he is not a stash candidate in redraft leagues.
