Sam Antonacci Gaining Momentum as Emerging Waiver-Wire Option

White Sox rookie outfielder Sam Antonacci has put together an excellent start to his first MLB season, slashing .286/.386/.379 and working his way into everyday lineups. He is hitting .348 in June and appears to be continuing his upward trend with three multi-hit games in his last six outings. He has also added eight stolen bases in 48 games and profiles as a contact-first hitter from the left side. Fantasy managers should take advantage of the opportunity to add him as he looks to build on his early success. His playing time has become more stable as he continues to earn trust within the White Sox lineup.

Sam Antonacci Remains a Solid Deep-League Waiver Wire Target Despite Lack of Power

Across 162 plate appearances since being promoted to the big leagues in mid-April, Chicago White Sox outfielder Sam Antonacci is hitting .275/.369/.362 with one home run, 13 RBI, 23 runs scored, and eight stolen bases. The 23-year-old hit just five home runs across 519 minor league plate appearances in 2025, so he appears unlikely to provide fantasy managers with much power any time soon. However, Antonacci has consistently shown an ability to put the ball in play and has spent considerable time in the leadoff spot for Chicago since making his MLB debut. Antonacci stole 48 bases in the minors in 2025, so he may just be scratching the surface of his speed potential in the big leagues. As long as he can continue to get on base at a solid clip, Antonacci should rack up runs and stolen bases for fantasy managers and is worth a look on the waiver wire.

Sam Antonacci Still Worth a Waiver-Wire Pickup for his Speed

Chicago White Sox rookie outfielder Sam Antonacci has cooled off a bit recently at the plate, but fantasy managers targeting speed should still be considering acquiring him off the waiver wire. The 23-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder has hit .233 (7-for-30) with an RBI, two stolen bases, six runs scored, three walks, and seven strikeouts in nine games since May 15, but he still holds a strong .300/.395/.357 slash line with a .752 OPS, four doubles, four RBI, five stolen bases, and 15 runs scored in 21 contests in May. Antonacci, a former fifth-round selection in 2024 out of Coastal Carolina, has only one home run and won't provide much pop for fantasy managers, but he has held his own in his first 35 big-league games in 2026. He's hitting .273 (30-for-110) with a homer, five doubles, two triples, 10 RBI, five steals, and 20 runs scored across his 132 plate appearances. Making him even more attractive in deeper leagues is the fact that he's eligible at second and third base, in addition to the outfield. He's also widely available in Yahoo leagues, as he's currently rostered in just 16% of leagues.

Sam Antonacci Emerging as a Prime Waiver-Wire Target

Since making his MLB debut on April 15, Chicago White Sox outfielder Sam Antonacci has proven he's ready for the big leagues. Across 106 plate appearances entering play on Sunday, the 23-year-old was hitting .284/.385/.420 with one home run, nine RBI, 16 runs scored, and three stolen bases. Antonacci's plate skills were one of his calling cards as a prospect, and he's struck out in just 12.3% of his MLB plate appearances so far. While he's just three for his first six as a base stealer with the White Sox, Antonacci swiped 48 bags in the minors in 2025 and should get to more speed in the big leagues over the course of the year. His 10.3% barrel rate also hints at some untapped power upside, although fantasy managers shouldn't expect more than 10 to 15 long balls at the most. Even still, Antonacci offers a well-rounded skill set and has emerged as the everyday leadoff hitter for an improving White Sox lineup. In fantasy leagues where he's not already rostered, Antonacci is worth targeting on the waiver wire.

Sam Antonacci Should be Rostered in All Formats With Five-Category Upside

Chicago White Sox ninth overall-ranked prospect Sam Antonacci has been very consistent throughout his first 87 plate appearances at the MLB level, slashing .268/.376/.394 with two stolen bases, six walks, nine RBI, one home run, two triples, and 12 runs scored. More impressively, his plate discipline has been rock solid, striking out only 10.8 percent of the time (95th percentile), whiffing 17.1 percent of the time (85th percentile), and chasing 23.7 percent of the time (82nd percentile). His xBA is also .322, which showcases that even after the impressive start, he could be in line for additional positive regression. Additionally, Antonacci hit .291 in the minors last year and has hit at nearly every stop of his career, showcasing an overall track record of success that should give fantasy managers confidence he will provide value in most categories. Due to his lack of power, Antonacci remains a better points player than a categories player, but is still useful in all formats and should be rostered across all types of leagues.

Sam Antonacci Starting to Heat Up, Emerging as a Waiver-Wire Target

After getting called up to the big leagues on April 15, Chicago White Sox outfielder Sam Antonacci recorded just one hit over his first 19 plate appearances. However, the 23-year-old has started to heat up of late, as he's six for his last 18 and now owns a slash line of .233/.351/.433 with one home run, four RBI, and three runs scored across 37 plate appearances. While Antonacci does not profile as a power bat, he's struck out just twice in the big leagues. He also should eventually emerge as a high-end speed threat, as he swiped 48 bags across 116 minor league games in 2025. Antonacci's slow start and unorthodox profile at the plate may lead to him being overlooked in most fantasy formats, but he could be a valuable waiver wire pickup for deeper-league managers.

Sam Antonacci Hits Inside-the-Park Homer, Worthy of Waiver-Wire Pickup?

Chicago White Sox rookie outfielder Sam Antonacci hit his first career home run on Tuesday in the team's 11-5 blowout win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, but it wasn't a traditional home run. Antonacci went 2-for-5 at the plate with an inside-the-park homer, a triple, and three RBI in just his sixth major-league game. It was nice to see the 23-year-old speedster have a good game, as he had struggled at the plate in his first five games with the White Sox. Antonacci, who is considered the team's No. 9 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is now hitting .190 (4-for-21) with three RBI, two runs scored, two walks, and a strikeout in his first six games in the big leagues. There's not going to be a lot of extra-base power from Antonacci in his first year in the majors, but fantasy managers in deeper leagues may want to consider him if they need speed. Antonacci is only rostered right now in 6% of Yahoo leagues, so he's widely available.

Sam Antonacci Still Worth Adding Despite Slow Start to MLB Career?

Chicago White Sox outfielder/second baseman Sam Antonacci was called up for his MLB debut on Wednesday after posting a .979 OPS across his first 67 plate appearances at Triple-A. However, the 23-year-old has struggled out of the gates in the big leagues with just one hit and one run scored across his first 19 plate appearances. Antonacci is also a speed threat who stole 48 bases in 116 minor league games in 2025, but he's yet to record his first major league steal. On the plus side, Antonacci has drawn two walks and struck out just once. His ability to control the strike zone was one of the biggest reasons for his effectiveness in the minors, as he posted a 13.3% walk rate in 2025. If he continues to make contact and draw walks, Antonacci should pull out of his current skid. He's still a worthy waiver-wire gamble for fantasy managers in need of speed.

Sam Antonacci Officially Called Up by White Sox

The Chicago White Sox officially have recalled outfield/infield prospect Sam Antonacci from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, according to Bruce Levine of 670 The Score. Antonacci will receive his first big-league call-up after going 15-for-48 (.313) with two home runs, seven RBI, five stolen bases, and six runs scored in 14 games at Charlotte. The 23-year-old is ranked as Chicago's No. 9 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and he could see regular playing time against right-handed pitching in the majors at various positions. Antonacci has mostly played left field in the minors in 2026, but he also has experience at all four infield spots down on the farm. He has a compact swing from the left side of the plate and plenty of plate discipline for a young prospect. There's not a ton of power with Antonacci, but he's worth considering off the waiver wire in deeper leagues for his potential speed contributions. In the long term, second base might be his best path to regular playing time. UPDATE: Antonacci is starting at second base and is batting fifth in his MLB debut on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Sam Antonacci an Elite Option for Speed Among Stash Candidates

Chicago White Sox infield/outfield prospect Sam Antonacci holds high-end stash upside among hitting prospects. Reports last weekend suggested that the White Sox were set to call up Antonacci to the big leagues, but since this transaction has yet to occur, the team may feel he needs additional development in Triple-A. Entering the season, Antonacci was not on the stash radar in most formats as he sat as the No. 9-ranked prospect in the system on MLB.com. However, he has performed at an elite level at Triple-A and is beginning to tap into his power upside. Through 14 games with Charlotte, Antonacci has gone deep twice, swiped five bags while holding a .313/.500/.479 line. Last summer, Antonacci hit just five home runs in the lower levels while stealing 48 bases over 116 games. If Antonacci can continue this power trajectory, he could hold 10/30 upside once he reaches the South Side. Given Chicago's current lineup, Antonacci is a top hitter prospect to stash in standard category leagues, given his speed potential.
