New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon stumbled in Game 2 of the World Series and was handed his second loss of the postseason. Rodon held the Dodgers scoreless in the opening frame but ran into trouble early in the second as Tommy Edman hit a lead-off solo shot. Then, in the third inning with two outs, outfielder Teoscar Hernandez would hit a two-run blast. The next batter, Freddie Freeman would also go on to take Rodon deep to extended the Dodger lead. The southpaw was able to log only three 1/3 innings of work with six total hits allowed and three runs. He struck out three and did not allow a free pass. During October, Rodon now sits with an underwhelming 5.60 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. DFS players should select Rodon with caution if he is able to make another start in the World Series.

Carlos Rodon Faces Tall Task In Game 2
New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon has a tough matchup in Game 2 of the World Series. In his previous outing, Rodon lasted only four 2/3 innings and surrendered five hits, two earned runs, and one walk, while striking out six. During three starts this October, the southpaw sits with a modest 4.40 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. This evening, he will face the Los Angeles Dodgers who have hit left-handed pitching exceptionally well this season at a stellar .826 OPS mark. In addition, the Dodgers have only struck out 18.0% of the time facing southpaws which could limit Rodon's upside. Given his shaky performances during the postseason and tough matchup, it may be best to fade Rodon in DFS formats.

Carlos Rodon To Start In Game 2 Of World Series
New York Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodon said he will make the start for Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday at Dodger Stadium against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Right-hander Gerrit Cole will kick things off in Game 1 on Friday, while right-hander Clarke Schmidt is scheduled to toe the rubber for Game 3 on Monday back at Yankee Stadium. The 31-year-old Rodon could be the X-factor in this series as the Yankees look to neutralize the Dodgers' power-hitting left-handed bats, most notably Shohei Ohtani. In three postseason starts this October, Rodon has a 4.40 ERA (seven earned runs allowed in 14 1/3 innings) while giving up 15 hits (two homers), walking only one and striking out 22. He did not face the Dodgers during the regular season and will need to continue missing bats to avoid a rough outing against the high-scoring Dodgers offense.

Carlos Rodon Eyes Series-Clinching Victory On Saturday
New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon looks to clinch the ALCS for the Bronx Bombers on Saturday evening against the Cleveland Guardians. The southpaw got the nod in the series opener and performed exceptionally well, as he tossed six frames of one-run ball, allowing just three hits and no walks while striking out nine. This was an excellent bounce-back for Rodon, as he served up four earned runs and seven hits across 3 2/3 innings against the Kansas City Royals in the ALDS. During the regular season, the 31-year-old posted a 3.96 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. Rodon will be a popular pick in DFS due to his ability to generate whiffs but faces a tough task, as the Guardians have hit left-handed pitching quite well this summer at an .813 OPS.

Carlos Rodon Wins Game 1 Over Guardians, Strikes Out Nine
New York Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodon was on his game in the team's Game 1 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Monday night at Yankee Stadium in the American League Championship Series by a score of 5-2. Rodon was on point, going six innings while allowing only one earned run on a solo home run by Brayan Rocchio and striking out nine. He didn't walk a single batter. The 31-year-old southpaw was missing bats with regularity in the Bronx and picked up his first career postseason victory with the outstanding effort. Rodon was much sharper than in his start in Game 2 of the AL Division Series against the Kansas City Royals, when he allowed four runs on seven hits with no walks and seven strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings in a loss. Don't look now, but Rodon now has zero walks and 16 strikeouts in his two playoff appearances this fall. Rodon pitched one of his best games in pinstripes at a very opportune time.

Carlos Rodon Starting Game 1 Of ALCS
New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon will get the starting nod in Game 1 of the ALCS against the Cleveland Guardians, according to Chris Kirschner of The Athletic. Rodon got the start in Game 2 of the ALDS and allowed four earned runs across 3 2/3 frames. He surrendered seven hits, no walks, and struck out seven. The 31-year-old enjoyed a nice bounce-back campaign this summer, as he posted a 3.96 ERA and 1.22 WHIP compared to the 6.85 ERA and 1.45 WHIP he held in 2023 in his Yankees debut. He will face a tough Cleveland lineup that has hit left-handed pitching quite well this summer with a strong .813 OPS. In addition, they have only struck out 18.4% of the time against southpaws.

Carlos Rodon To Start Game 2 Of ALDS
New York Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodon will start Game 2 of the American League Division Series on Monday at Yankee Stadium against either the division-rival Baltimore Orioles or the Kansas City Royals. Right-hander Gerrit Cole will take the ball for Game 1 of the series on Saturday in the Bronx. Rodon managed to stay healthy in 2024 and make 32 starts (175 innings pitched) for the Bombers, going 16-9 with a 3.96 ERA (4.39 FIP), a 1.22 WHIP and a 195:57 K:BB. Home runs have continued to be an issue for him, as he allowed a career-high 31 round-trippers in his second year with the team. Rodon had his share of ups and downs for fantasy managers, but the good news for the Yankees is he pitched well entering the postseason, not allowing more than two earned runs in any of his final five starts in September with 34 K's and 10 walks over 28 2/3 frames.

Carlos Rodon Tosses Six Shutout Innings, Picks Up Win
New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon tossed six shutout innings and struck out five in the Yankees' 3-0 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night. Rodon reduced his ERA to 4.16 on the season and improved his record to 14-8. This was his 12th quality start of the season and just his first in August, a good sign for the lefty. Rodon has been struggling to go deep in games, completing six innings just twice since June 15th before tonight. His efficiency will be key for the Yankees down the stretch as they'll be facing many important games in the weeks ahead as they work to make space between them and the Baltimore Orioles in the standing. With Luis Gil hitting the IL this week, the Yankees' rotation will need to be efficient with their pitch count to keep their bullpen fresh and anything Rodon can do to be more efficient will be great for New York. He will look to make another quality start during his next scheduled start on Wednesday when the Yankees head to Washington DC to face off against the Nationals.

Carlos Rodon Strikes Out Six In Win
New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon fanned six batters over five-and-two-thirds scoreless innings in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader victory over the Rangers by a score of 8-0. The southpaw allowed just three hits but also walked five batters in the contest. Still, the 31-year-old was able to pick up his 13th win of the season, now sporting a 13-7 record with a 4.18 ERA (4.56 FIP), 1.22 WHIP, and an 18.0% K-BB%. The former 2x All-Star should get a favorable matchup in his next start versus the Tigers on the road next weekend.

Carlos Rodon Looks Impressive On Monday
New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon put together a masterful performance against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday. The southpaw allowed one run on two hits over seven innings of work. Rodon struck out 10 batters along the way as he made easy work of the Rays' lineup. He has put together an up-and-down campaign thus far. Rodon was struggling heavily before this start so hopefully this will help him get back on track.
