Colby Thomas Stays Hot At Triple-A

Oakland Athletics outfield prospect Colby Thomas has stayed hot at Triple-A and is continuing to make a strong case to see time in the big leagues later this summer. Since July 21, the Mercer product has been riding a stellar .404/.455/.894 slash line with five round-trippers, eight doubles and 11 RBI. Since joining Triple-A Las Vegas on June 18, Thomas has posted a strong .314/.391/.614 line with nine home runs and 27 RBI. Since making his professional debut in the 2023 season, Thomas has progressed through the minor leagues very quickly and is knocking on the major league door. The number 11-ranked prospect in the Oakland system on MLB.com is someone to keep a close eye on as he is approaching stash territory.

Colby Thomas Continuing To Succeed At Triple-A

Oakland Athletics outfield prospect Colby Thomas has yet to slow down at Triple-A Las Vegas and is making a case to see time in the major leagues during the stretch run of the season. Since moving up to the top level of the minor leagues on June 18, Thomas has posted a dominant .291/.378/.512 line with four home runs, 16 RBI, and two swiped bags. The Mercer product opened the season with Double-A and held a strong .282/.340/.568 line with 14 home runs and 47 RBI across 59 games. Since June 28, Thomas has been showcasing his high-potential raw power with an eye-catching .968 OPS. Thomas is ranked as the number 11 prospect in the Oakland system and is making a strong case to see major league time later this summer.

Colby Thomas Showing Power Surge At Triple-A

Oakland Athletics outfield prospect Colby Thomas recently joined Triple-A Las Vegas and has begun to showcase his elite power potential. In his past six games, the Mercer product has posted a .348/.464/.783 slash line with an eye-catching 1.247 OPS. In this stretch, Thomas has launched three long balls with one double and tallied eight RBI. He only went one game in this stretch without tallying at least one hit. Overall, through his first 13 games at Triple-A, the 23-year-old has held a strong .327/.417/.596 line. The number 11 ranked prospect in the Oakland system on MLB Pipeline has progressed through the minor leagues very quickly after needing just 54 games at High-A and 59 games at Double-A to reach the top level of the minors. Thomas has a strong chance of making his major league debut in the second half of the season and could become a popular stash candidate in redraft leagues if he continues this power run.

Colby Thomas Launches Ninth Home Run Of The Season

Oakland Athletics outfield prospect Colby Thomas went 3-for-6 at the plate on Wednesday with a two-run shot, which was his ninth of the season. Through his first 33 games at Double-A, the 23-year-old has posted a strong .281/.331/.540 slash line with 23 RBI and nine swiped bags. Last season, through a similar 54 games at High-A, Thomas posted a .290/.333/.516 line with 10 long balls and 11 stolen bases. This is a great sign for the former third-round selection, as he has yet to face any growing pains when facing harder competition. Thomas is projected to reach the major leagues next season but could see time in Triple-A late this summer.
