Hunter Brown Starting Game 2 On Wednesday

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown will be called upon to keep the team's playoff hopes alive in Wednesday's wild-card Game 2 against the Tigers. The 26-year-old enjoyed a strong second half of the regular season, bringing his totals to 11-9 with a 3.49 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and a 25.1% strikeout rate in 31 appearances (30 starts) and 170 innings pitched. He owns a 1.69 post-season ERA in 10 2/3 IP, but this will be his first post-season start. Brown had two successful starts against the Tigers in the regular season, allowing just one run in 12 IP with 16 strikeouts.

Hunter Brown Takes Tough Loss In Monday's Quality Start

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown continued his strong second half in Monday's 6-1 loss to the Mariners. Brown pitched six innings, allowing one run on three hits and three walks with eight strikeouts. However, the Astros could not figure Bryce Miller out and provided little run support. The 26-year-old has figured things out in the second half after a mediocre first half and is now 4-3 with a 2.26 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and 74 strikeouts in 12 starts and 71 2/3 IP. Assuming the Astros continue to use a six-man rotation to end the season, Brown will finish the 2024 regular season with an 11-9 record, a 3.49 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and a 9.48 K/9 rate in 30 starts and 170 IP. This is a big improvement from his 2023 numbers and fantasy managers may have the opportunity to see him pitch more in the playoffs.

Hunter Brown Throws Six Shutout Frames Against Reds

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown continued his run of consistency on Thursday, tossing six shutout frames in a 1-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. Brown allowed just four hits and a walk while punching out six in this one. The 26-year-old has figured things out since the start of May, with 15 of his 21 starts being quality starts since then. Other than a couple of blowups, he has been a consistent presence that fantasy managers can bank on to go six innings with about a strikeout per inning and decent ratios. He's not elite by any means, but he's certainly a solid arm to round out a rotation.

Hunter Brown Earns Win, Strikes Out Six Saturday

Houston Astros starter Hunter Brown beat the Chicago White Sox on Saturday night, striking out six en route to his 11th victory of the season. The young hurler went seven innings, surrendering four hits, two walks, and one run. After a tough stretch to begin the season, Brown has been outstanding in his last 15 starts: 10-2, a 2.27 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and 101 strikeouts in 91 innings. He will look to continue his outstanding recent run next weekend in a tilt against the Baltimore Orioles.

Hunter Brown Notches Nine Strikeouts In Win

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown continued his fantastic turnaround season against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. The right-hander struck out nine batters while allowing only two runs over 5 1/3 innings of work in the win. Brown had a 9.78 ERA heading into May and he has lowered that to 3.96 after his outing on Sunday. It has been an awesome turn of events for Brown. He has been one of the best pitchers in baseball over the last few months and is must-start in all fantasy formats.

Hunter Brown Continues To Ascend

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown picked up his ninth victory of the season on Wednesday versus the Oakland Athletics. Brown earned a quality start by tossing six innings, in which he allowed eight hits, one run, one walk and recorded eight strikeouts. Despite a rocky start to the season, Brown has really turned things on since May and been one of the better pitchers in the game during that span. For the season, Brown is now 9-6 with a 4.00 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 110 1/3 innings. Brown has become a near must-start with the way he has been pitching and will look to continue his success versus the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.

Hunter Brown Impressive Once Again

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown was once again impressive on the mound during Wednesday's outing against the Oakland Athletics. Brown recorded eight strikeouts while allowing only one run across six innings of work. He did give up eight hits but was able to limit the damage to only a single run. The 25-year-old has allowed three earned runs or less in 11 of his last 12 starts. He'll look to keep it going against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should make sure to get Brown in their lineups for that one.

Hunter Brown Picks Up Eighth Win

Brown tossed six innings of scoreless ball while allowing four hits, striking out five, and walking three. He was credited with the win to improve his record to 8-6, to go along with a 4.14 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 110 strikeouts over 104 1/3 innings of work. Brown will draw a favorable matchup in his next start, which is scheduled for Wednesday against the Oakland A's.

Hunter Brown Receiving First Start After All-Star Break

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown is slated to begin the second half in Friday's pivotal series opener at T-Mobile Park against the division-rival Seattle Mariners. A popular drop candidate in fantasy following a miserable start to 2024, Brown has bounced back dramatically to put together a 2.75 ERA alongside an 81:24 K:BB over his last 13 appearances (75 1/3 innings) for the Astros. While the 25-year-old right-hander has mostly struggled in his career against Seattle, he's allowed only three runs with a 14:4 K:BB in 10 1/3 frames against the M's in 2024. At a pitcher-friendly ballpark on Friday night, Brown deserves plenty of DFS consideration and should be in all starting lineups in season-long leagues.

Hunter Brown Tosses Six Scoreless Frames

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown was impressive on the mound during Monday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The right-hander tossed six scoreless innings while allowing only two hits in the win. He struck out five batters while walking three along the way. Brown has allowed an unbelievable one run over his last five starts. He's having an up-and-down season but has been pitching extremely well as of late.
