Jonathan Araúz News
New York Mets infielder Jonathan Arauz has been recalled ahead of Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. The 24-year-old is set to make his Mets' debut after playing 95 games in Triple-A Syracuse. During that time, Arauz held a .773 OPS with 14 home runs and two steals. He played with both the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles previously. He'll cover second base and bat seventh versus left-hander Cole Ragans on Wednesday.
Boston Red Sox infielder Jonathan Arauz hit his third home run of the season Monday, going 1-for-5 with two runs scored in an 11-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Arauz has gotten plenty of playing time filling in for Kike Hernandez and Xander Bogaerts while they've been out with COVID, but he stands to lose some of those opportunities with Hernandez set to return. He should not be rostered in any fantasy format.
Boston Red Sox infielder Jonathan Arauz is available to play Monday, though he is not in the starting lineup. Yairo Munoz is in the lineup at second base. Arauz left Sunday's game after appearing to tweak something swinging the bat, and it's good news that he's managed to avoid missing any time. Arauz is expected to get the lion's share of playing time at second base with Kike Hernandez and Christian Arroyo out with COVID-19, but he can be left on waiver wires as he has produced a .566 OPS with one homer in 37 at-bats this season.
