Jonny Farmelo Will Participate in the Arizona Fall League

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Jonny Farmelo will participate in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) this October, part of a seven-player Seattle contingent that will represent the Peoria Javelinas. The Mariners' seventh-ranked prospect suffered a stress reaction in his rib that caused him to miss nearly three months in the middle of the season, finishing with a .230/.318/.460 slash line with six home runs in 29 games at High-A Everett. The 21-year-old was limited to 46 games in 2024 due to an ACL tear, so he'll use the AFL to help make up for some lost time. If he can manage to stay healthy in 2026, the former 29th-overall draft pick could see time at Double-A, but he's still likely at least a couple of years away from the majors. Though he hasn't logged much on-field playing time, he's got talent and is a player to monitor in dynasty leagues.

Jonny Farmelo has Resumed Baseball Activities, Eyeing Mid-August Return

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Jonny Farmelo (rib) resumed baseball activities this past week, including taking full swings. The Mariners' sixth-ranked prospect has been on the shelf after suffering a stress reaction in his rib, last playing in a game at High-A Everett on May 23. He also got a late start to the season, recovering from a torn ACL in 2024, which has resulted in a total of only 15 games played this year. In those 15 games, the 20-year-old slashed .288/.348/.610 with five home runs. With the big power comes lots of swing and miss, striking out at a 30.3 percent rate in his limited 2025 sample. His best tool might be his speed, though, and after suffering the ACL injury, the former 29th-overall draft pick has yet to steal a base this year, so keep an eye on that when he returns around mid-August.

Jonny Farmelo Back on Injured List With Stress Reaction in his Rib

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Jonny Farmelo (rib) returned from a torn ACL just several weeks ago but is now headed back to the minor-league injured list after suffering a stress reaction in his rib from swinging the bat, according to Seattle Sports' Cameron Van Til. Farmelo, the team's No. 6 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is expected to be out for four to six weeks, according to general manager Justin Hollander. The 20-year-old former first-rounder in 2023 missed almost 11 months after tearing his ACL last June with Low-A Modesto. He was hitting .288/.348/.610 with five homers and 12 RBI in just 15 games with High-A Everett before injuring his rib. It's a disappointing development for the 6-foot-2, 205-pound left-hander. He's a few years away from a big-league debut, but when he gets there, his plus-plus speed should make him an immediate fantasy asset.

Jonny Farmelo Goes Deep Twice On Friday

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Jonny Farmelo went 3-for-4 with a double and two home runs during Friday's contest against High-A Tri-City. During this outing, Farmelo tallied two RBI and drew a walk. The 20-year-old missed the opening weeks of the campaign while recovering from the torn ACL he suffered last season. Through his first seven games of the High-A regular season, Farmelo has been very productive, holding a .281/.343/.781 slash line with two doubles, one triple, four home runs, and seven RBI. Last summer, the No. 93-ranked prospect in the sport made his professional debut with Low-A Modesto and posted a .264/.398/.421 line with 10 doubles, three triples, and four long balls. Fantasy managers should expect Farmelo to spend most of the season at High-A.
