Marlins
Miami Marlins pitcher Paul Campbell was suspended 80 games by Major League Baseball after testing positive for Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone. The suspension is effective immediately. Campbell may be proof that taking performance enhancing drugs does not immediately make a player successful, as he had an 8.74 ERA in 11 1/3 innings of work. Campbell got one start and pitched in five games total for the Marlins. He was a Rule 5 pick from the Tampa Bay Rays and may end up heading back to that organization once his suspension is up.

Paul Campbell Allows Three Runs On Sunday
Miami Marlins rookie relief pitcher Paul Campbell worked as the bulk reliever in Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants. After Ross Detwiler served as the opener and pitched one inning, Campbell came in and pitched the second, third, and fourth innings. He allowed three runs on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts. All three of the runs Campbell allowed came in his first inning of work before he was able to settle in to pitch two scoreless frames. Campbell has struggled to an 8.22 ERA. As a Rule 5 pick, he can't be sent down and needs to either stick on the Marlins roster all season or be offered back to his original team. The Marlins may have a tough decision to make on Campbell soon.

Paul Campbell Makes His Debut On Saturday
Miami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Paul Campbell, a Rule 5 pick, made his major league debut in Saturday's win over the Rays. Campbell was forced to come into the third inning after starter Elieser Hernandez (bicep) had to leave the game due to an injury. Campbell ended up throwing two innings, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk. He did get his first big league strikeout though. It was overall not a great debut for Campbell, but he was thrown in without much notice. With Hernandez possibly missing time and Sixto Sanchez (shoulder) certainly missing time as well, there's a chance Campbell gets stretched out to join the starting rotation.

Paul Campbell Makes The Opening Day Roster
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Paul Campbell made it on the Marlins Opening Day roster. Campbell was a Rule 5 selection from the Tampa Bay Rays, so unless he gets hurt, he'll need to remain on the active 26-man roster all year or be offered back to the Rays. Campbell earned his spot by pitching to a 3.86 spring ERA and showing plenty of zip on his fastball. He'll work in middle relief and can provide multiple innings in an outing. He won't have much fantasy value in that role, but could eventually develop into a more significant bullpen position.
