Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy hit a two-run home run in the first inning of the Dodgers 7-3 extra-inning loss to the Nationals in Game 5 of the NLDS. Muncy capped off a fantastic series with a bang right out of the gate, staking the Dodgers to an early 2-0 lead. The team couldn't hold it for nine innings, but Muncy finishes the series slashing .263/.391/.737 with three home runs and seven runs batted in. There was no sophomore slump this season for Muncy, and he heads into the offseason as a legitimate fantasy asset moving forward.
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy is on fire this series, clocking his third home run in five games in the first inning in Game 5 of the National League Division Series. Joc Pederson hit a ground-rule double through the wall a batter before, and Muncy pulled a high fastball over the right field fence to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead. Stephen Strasburg hasn't looked clean this first inning, so it will be interesting to see how this game goes.
Muncy jumped on a first-pitch fastball and drove it over the right-field fence to pull within one run of the Washington Nationals at 3-2. Sean Doolittle was brought in to face the lefties after Stephen Strasburg went six strong. He struck out Cody Bellinger and Will Smith to finish off the inning, but allowed a dangerous Dodgers team to climb closer to a comeback with a get-over first-pitch fastball to a lefty that can hit southpaws.
