Twins
The Minnesota Twins are set to recall right-hander Randy Dobnak from the minors. Dobnak last pitched in the major leagues on Sept. 1, 2021. The 29-year-old is 9-5 with a 3.61 ERA at Triple-A St. Paul this year and leads the International League in victories, is third in innings pitched (99 1/3) and strikeouts (102) and is fourth in ERA. He pitched in 42 games from 2019-21 for the Twins and started 26 contests, going 11-15 with a 4.94 ERA before signing a five-year, $9.25 million deal in 2021. Dobnak is earning $2.25 million in 2024. He suffered a rupture of the tiny ligaments in his right middle finger three years ago and recurred even worse in 2022. Dobnak had to remake himself as a slider/changeup pitcher because of the injury. He's likely to pitch in a long-relief role in Minnesota, which won't give him much fantasy appeal.

Randy Dobnak To Start Rehab Assignment Thursday
Minnesota Twins pitcher Randy Dobnak (finger) will reportedly start a rehab assignment Thursday, per a tweet from 5 Eyewitness News' Darren Wolfson. Dobnak has yet to pitch in the majors this season. In 50 2/3 innings for the Twins last season, the 27-year-old pitched to a 7.64 ERA and a 5.70 FIP with 27 strikeouts and 12 walks. Dobnak made 14 appearances for the Twins last season, six of which were starts. As of now, Minnesota's current rotation options include Joe Ryan, Sonny Gray, Tyler Mahle, Chris Archer and Dylan Bundy.

Randy Dobnak Has Another Setback
Minnesota Twins right-hander Randy Dobnak (finger) had another setback in his recovery from a right middle finger strain and had a cortisone shot in his finger on July 1. Dobnak had played catch from 120 feet and threw a 15-pitch fastball-only bullpen session at around 75% before his most recent setback. He'll be down for about two more weeks before he tries to ramp up again, but he thinks he could make a reasonably quick return to pitching thereafter in around a month and a half if his finger cooperates. There's a surgical option, but there's very little precedent for that procedure in a baseball context. The 27-year-old has yet to pitch for Minnesota in 2022, and there remains no timetable for his return.

Randy Dobnak Surrenders Five Runs In Loss
Minnesota Twins pitcher Randy Dobnak struggled in his return from the injured list Friday. Dobnak pitched seven innings, allowing five earned runs on six hits while striking out a pair of batters with no walks issued. The righty navigated an easy first inning but ran into trouble in the second and third frames, allowing three extra-base hits and all five runs in the two innings. Dobnak settled in nicely after that, pitching through the seventh inning, but the damage was already done, resulting in his seventh loss of the year. He could stick in the Twins rotation for the final month of the season, though he won't have much fantasy value with a 7.64 ERA and 1.54 WHIP.

Randy Dobnak Transferred To 60-Day Injured List
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Randy Dobnak (finger) was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Saturday. No surprise here, and the move is a way to open up room on the team's roster. It's unlikely many fantasy managers will be impacted, primarily since he isn't on many rosters anyway because of his struggles this season, with the righty currently owning a horrendous 7.83 ERA and a 1-6 record. He hasn't been a regular member of the rotation, so the team probably won't need to rush him back from the right middle finger strain suffered nearly a month ago.

Randy Dobnak Placed On 10-Day Injured List
Minnesota Twins starter/reliever Randy Dobnak (finger) was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right middle finger strain. Dobnak had dealt with a fingernail issue following his start on June 10, though this seems to be a different ailment. It's not yet clear how much time the 26-year-old will be forced to miss, but the Twins might give him a break on the sidelines to correct some things, given his struggles this season. Griffin Jax was called up in a corresponding roster move. Jax has pitched to a 3.33 ERA with a 29:10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 27 innings pitched. The Twins could potentially turn to him for a spot start or two with Dobnak sidelined.

Randy Dobnak Limits The Damage In No-Decision
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Randy Dobnak rebounded nicely in Saturday's start against the Texas Rangers. Dobnak allowed 14 combined runs in his last two appearances but pitched five solid innings, allowing two runs on four hits against Texas. The 26-year-old righty induced 10 ground balls thanks to his sinker, which he threw nearly half the time Saturday. Dobnak still owns a 7.83 ERA despite the effort and could find himself relegated to the bullpen when Michael Pineda (forearm) returns.

Randy Dobnak Dealing With Bruised Fingernail Following Wednesday's Loss
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Randy Dobnak took his sixth loss of the season in Wednesday's defeat at the hands of the New York Yankees. Dobnak pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing eight earned runs on 11 hits while walking three batters. He didn't strike out any batters but did generate 10 whiffs, seven of them on his slider. The 26-year-old righty was hit hard by the Yankee bats at an average exit velocity of 95.1 MPH and allowed four balls to leave the park. While the performance was another disappointing one for Dobnak, he did note that his fingernail ripped during his last start- and it was impacting how he finished his pitches. Dobnak is clearly off the fantasy radar for now regardless of injury, with a 7.36 ERA and 1.64 WHIP.

Randy Dobnak Takes Tough Loss Wednesday
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Randy Dobnak was charged with his fifth loss of the season on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles. Dobnak pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out three with a pair of walks. The 26-year-old made it through three scoreless frames before allowing runs to cross the plate in the fourth and fifth innings. Dobnak was much better this time around than his last start, though he still owns an underwhelming 6.49 ERA and some concerning Statcast metrics to boot.

Randy Dobnak Allows Six Runs In Loss
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Randy Dobnak was saddled with his fourth loss of the season. Dobnak pitched six innings, allowing six runs on nine hits with one walk and three strikeouts. The 26-year-old cruised through four scoreless frames, but a promising outing was done in by the fifth and seventh innings, where he was charged with three runs apiece. Dobnak induced six groundball outs and six whiffs in a step back from his brilliant performance against the Cleveland Indians. He'll be in a good position to bounce back against the Baltimore Orioles in his next scheduled start on June 2.
