Tobias Myers Sent to Nashville

The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Monday that they optioned right-hander Tobias Myers to Triple-A Nashville and recalled right-hander Craig Yoho from Nashville in a corresponding move. Myers made five starts with the Brew Crew to begin the year before being sent to the minors. He rejoined the big-league squad in a relief role last week and made two appearances, throwing three scoreless innings with no walks and four strikeouts. The 26-year-old will now go back to Nashville and could be stretched out in a starting role so that he can be ready to provide depth out of the bullpen down the stretch and potentially into the postseason. The former sixth-rounder by the Baltimore Orioles in 2016 is off the fantasy radar right now and has a 4.30 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB in eight appearances (five starts) in Milwaukee this year.

Tobias Myers Sent To Triple-A

The Milwaukee Brewers have optioned right-handed pitcher Tobias Myers to Triple-A Nashville. In a corresponding move, the Brewers have recalled Elvis Peguero from Triple-A. Myers missed the start of the season due to an oblique injury and has struggled in his return. Over his first five outings of the season (16 1/3 innings), Myers has posted a 3.86 ERA with a 1.53 WHIP. During this stint, he has struck out 11 batters and served up 10 free passes. While the 26-year-old has gotten off to a slow start this season, he has impressed during his MLB debut last summer. Across his first 138 MLB innings, Myers posted a 3.00 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP. He struck out 127 batters. With Myers being sent down, fantasy managers should expect either Aaron Civale (hamstring) or Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) to return from the injured list in the coming days.

Tobias Myers Activated Off Injured List, Starting On Thursday

Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitcher Tobias Myers (oblique) was activated off the 15-day injured list prior to his season debut on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants. Myers has been out of action since spring training due to this injury. In a corresponding move, the Brewers optioned left-handed pitcher Bryan Hudson to Triple-A Nashville. Myers made his MLB debut last season and performed quite well, holding a 3.00 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP across 138 innings of work. He tallied strikeouts at a modest 22.3 percent rate but showed strong command of his pitches, allowing walks at a 6.3 percent rate. He also generated a 38.7 percent hard-hit rate and an 8.0 percent barrel rate, which were both just below the average marks. Fantasy managers in deeper 15+ team formats should look to add Meyers ahead of his season debut, as he should remain in the Milwaukee rotation throughout the season. However, he is best to leave on your bench on Thursday, as he could face an innings limit in his debut.

Tobias Myers To Start On Thursday Against Giants

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers (oblique) is set to come off the 15-day injured list to start against the San Francisco Giants on Thursday at Oracle Park. It will be Myers' season debut after making three minor-league rehab starts for Triple-A Nashville. The 26-year-old looked good during his three starts in the minors, allowing three earned runs on 10 hits while walking four and striking out eight in 13 1/3 innings pitched. Myers tossed five scoreless innings with five strikeouts in his final rehab assignment and should be ready to handle close to a full workload when he takes the mound in a pitcher-friendly ballpark in San Fran this week. Due to his below-average strikeout rate, expecting Myers to be better than his 3.00 ERA from last year might be foolish, but he'll have value in deep-mixed and NL-only leagues as a permanent member of Milwaukee's starting rotation.

Tobias Myers To Make Next Rehab Start On Friday

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers (oblique) is scheduled to throw 65 to 70 pitches in his next minor-league rehab start on Friday for Triple-A Nashville, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. After that, Myers could return to the major-league starting rotation to face the San Francisco Giants next week. The 26-year-old's rehab start on Friday will be his third after working his way back from a left-oblique strain that he suffered in mid-March in spring training. Although he only struck out three total batters, Myers looked sharp in his first two rehab starts, allowing three earned runs on eight hits while walking three in 8 1/3 inning pitched. Myers was great down the stretch for the Brew Crew and finished with an impressive 3.00 ERA and 1.17 WHIP, but he had a below-average strikeout rate, which will limit his chances for a breakout in 2025. Still, he's worth a look for rotation depth in deep-mixed leagues if he's available.

Tobias Myers To Make Rehab Start On Sunday

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Tobias Myers (oblique) will make his second rehab start with Triple-A Nashville on Sunday. Myers is currently working his way back from an oblique strain, but he appears to be progressing well. He threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings during his first rehab outing. The expectation is that Myers will probably need one more rehab start after Sunday's game. That means, Myers should be back in the Brewers rotation by the end of April or early May. Until then, Quinn Priester figures to remain in the starting rotation.

Tobias Myers To Make First Rehab Start On Tuesday

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers (oblique) is tentatively scheduled for minor-league rehab starts with Triple-A Nashville on April 8, 13 and 18 before potentially rejoining the major-league starting rotation, according to MLB.com. Myers was placed on the 15-day injured list on March 24 with left-oblique discomfort and is tentatively expected to return in mid-April, barring any setbacks on his rehab assignment. The 26-year-old will face live hitters on Thursday before being officially cleared to make his first rehab start next Tuesday. Myers was unable to begin the 2025 regular season in Milwaukee's starting rotation, but he'll have a spot waiting for him when he's ready after going 9-6 with a 3.00 ERA (3.91 FIP), 1.17 WHIP and 127:36 K:BB in 138 innings in his first 27 big-league appearances (25 starts).

Tobias Myers Throws Sim Game, Nearing Rehab Assignment

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Tobias Myers (oblique) completed a 32-pitch simulated game on Sunday. The 26-year-old is slated to face live hitters on Tuesday and would then be set to embark on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville. Adam McCalvy of MLB.com noted that Myers has not felt any discomfort in his oblique. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears he is nearing a return to the big leagues. Myers has been sidelined since March with a left oblique strain. Last season, the 26-year-old made his MLB debut and performed quite well, holding a 3.00 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP across 138 innings of work. He tallied 127 punchouts and held a strong 6.3 percent walk rate. When healthy, he should return to the starting rotation and be a viable option in deeper 12+ team formats.

Tobias Myers Throws Pain-Free On Friday

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers (oblique) played catch in camp on Friday and didn't have any discomfort in his oblique, making a late-April return a possibility, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. Myers was pulled from his Cactus League start last Saturday due to a left-oblique strain and will be forced to open the 2025 regular season on the injured list. However, the 26-year-old's MRI results delivered good news, and he might not have to wait long before making his season debut before the calendar flips to May. Expect him to begin ramping up his workload before eventually going on a short minor-league rehab assignment in April. The former sixth-round pick by the Baltimore Orioles in 2016 was a stabilizing force in Milwaukee's rotation in his rookie year in 2024, going 9-6 with a strong 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 127 K's and 36 walks in 138 innings. A below-average strikeout rate limits his fantasy upside, and regression could be coming.

Tobias Myers To Start The Year On Injured List

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers (oblique) will start the year on the injured list with a left-oblique strain, but the team thinks they can get his injury under control fairly quickly. Manager Pat Murphy said that Myers' injury was "better than we were expecting" and that a return in April "could be in play." It's a best-case scenario for the 26-year-old, who went 9-6 with a 3.00 ERA (3.91 FIP), 1.17 WHIP, 127 strikeouts and 36 walks in 138 innings over his first 27 major-league appearances (25 starts) for the Brew Crew last year. With Myers set to open the season on the shelf, Tyler Alexander is expected to open the year in the Brewers' starting rotation. While Myers was a bright spot for Milwaukee's rotation last year, he's due some regression in 2025 and has a lowered fantasy floor and ceiling due to his below-average strikeout rate. He's currently ranked as RotoBaller's No. 92 fantasy starting pitcher.
