Dillon Dube News
Calgary Flames forward Dillon Dube is taking an indefinite leave of absence to address his mental health, the team announced on Sunday. The news comes after Dube was kept out from Saturday's game against Edmonton. Dube takes a break from hockey after underperforming all season. Following a strong 45-point campaign in 2022-23, the 25-year-old has posted only seven points (three goals, four assists) in 43 games, with his last points coming in late November. Dube is finishing off the final season on a three-year, $6.9 million contract and will be a restricted free agent in the summer.
Calgary Flames forward Dillon Dube (illness) will sit out Saturday's clash with the Oilers. Having some time off might even be good for Dube following a 24-game run without a point. He's provided three goals and seven assists in 43 games on the attacking end through the entire campaign. With Martin Pospisil (upper body) also coming out of the lineup on Saturday, Matt Coronato will have a chance to log top-six minutes in the Battle of Alberta. The 21-year-old has tallied only two points (one goal, one assist) in his first 12 NHL appearances, but he has been on fire in the AHL this season with a 29-point effort across 27 games. Adam Klapka, who boasts 21 points through 33 AHL games in 2023-24, also enters the lineup on Saturday for his NHL debut.
Calgary Flames forward Dillon Dube (undisclosed) will miss Wednesday's game against the Dallas Stars. Dube wasn't on the ice for Tuesday's practice or Wednesday's optional skate, and now it appears he will miss his first game of the season. The injury looks to be a minor one, so expect Dube to return before long. After a solid 2022-23 campaign where he notched 45 points (18 goals, 27 assists) in 82 games, Dube has gone ice cold to start this season, with only three points in nine games to go along with a -10 rating. The 25-year-old won't have much fantasy value unless he can make his way into the top six or the top powerplay unit, so he can be left on waivers for now. In his absence, top prospect Connor Zary is expected to make his NHL debut. He is an interesting dynasty league option, but doesn't have much redraft value as of now.
Calgary Flames winger Dillon Dube had two assists as the team picked apart the Coyotes 6-3 Wednesday night. He played a big part in a comeback, helping Tyler Toffoli to tie the game at three and assisting Jakob Pelletier on the power play for the game-winning goal. The Flames had only two forwards without a point in the game and Dube was one of five players with multiple points. He has made it a habit for himself lately with three multi-point performances in his past six games. The scoring surge has pushed Dube to 37 points for the season with 58 games played. The 24-year-old is also nearing 100 hits for the campaign, so Dube is currently a great target for fantasy managers.
