Elias Pettersson News
Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson extended his career-high point streak to 12 games on Sunday, finishing a 4-2 victory over Chicago with two goals. With the game tied at one, Pettersson struck two quick goals in the third period to push the Canucks to their fifth win in six games. Vancouver's form as a team has finally caught up with Pettersson, who has been crushing it throughout the campaign. With 71 games played, the Swedish star has posted 35 goals and 58 assists.
Vancouver Canucks center Elias Pettersson reached 51 assists for the season with a pair of helpers in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win against the Ducks. He logged a short-handed assist on a J.T. Miller goal and also had one in an even-strength situation when Andrei Kuzmenko scored. Pettersson (8) now trails only Pavel Bure (9) and Russ Courtnall (9) for the most short-handed points in a season by a Vancouver player. It's been a disappointing campaign for the Canucks, but Pettersson has given his all to make it a successful one, putting up 81 points across 62 games. On Wednesday, he joined Edmonton's duo Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl as the only players to register 30-plus goals and 50-plus assists in 2022-23.
Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson had a sensational game against the Flyers on Saturday, putting up two goals and three assists in a 6-2 win. He became the first player since Alexander Mogilny in 1995 to finish a game with at least two short-handed points, two even-strength points and one power-play point. Pettersson completed his fifth career five-point effort with two empty-net goals, so there was a bit of luck involved, but it was still a huge performance from the Swedish forward. The Canucks star became the ninth player in the league to hit 70 points for the campaign and has registered 27 goals and 44 in total across 54 outings.
Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson scored the team's only goal in Friday's 4-1 defeat to Colorado. He lit the lamp for the 19th time this season with 12:32 played in the second period, but the Canucks couldn't generate any more offense and had to take a ninth loss in 11 games. It's been an extremely difficult season for Vancouver, but Pettersson has managed to keep his performance levels high, notching a team-high 53 points in 43 games. He needs only one more goal to become a part of a select group of players with 20-plus goals and 30-plus assists this season.
