Joel Hofer Blanks Stars in Season-Opening Win

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer was in top form during Friday's season opener against the Dallas Stars, registering a 25-save shutout in a 4-0 win. The Stars had won six straight season-opening games, but they couldn't find a way past Hofer on Friday night. Hofer became the second goaltender in franchise history to record a shutout in a season opener, joining Jaroslav Halak. Although Hofer tends to be solid on most nights he plays, he must compete for playing time with Jordan Binnington, limiting his fantasy appeal. Binnington is expected to make his season debut on Saturday against Colorado.

Joel Hofer Picks Up Sixth Shutout of the Season

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer frustrated the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night, recording his sixth shutout of the season in a 3-0 win. He made 21 saves, bringing him within one of tying Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders for the most shutouts in 2025-26. While Jordan Binnington was Team Canada's No. 1 at the Olympics, Hofer has outperformed him in St. Louis this season. The Winnipeg-born netminder holds an 18-11-5 record, a 2.57 goals-against average, and a .910 save percentage. He has gone 6-0-2 across his last eight starts.

Joel Hofer Shuts Down the Oilers

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer made 37 saves and earned the 3-2 victory versus the Oilers in overtime on Friday night. This was a very impressive performance against one of the league's best offenses, especially since Edmonton took 39 shots in the contest. Hofer has solid numbers in his third full season in the NHL with a 2.67 goals against average and a .907 save percentage to go along with his 16-11-4 record.

Joel Hofer Controls Hurricanes Tuesday

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer produced a 33-save shutout against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night, backstopping his team to a 3-0 victory. Hofer became the first Blues goaltender with four shutouts in a season since Jordan Binnington in 2018-19, tying Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders and Jesper Wallstedt of the Minnesota Wild for the league lead. After an awful start to the season, Hofer began to pick up form in December and has enjoyed a 4-2-0 stretch. He has improved his record to 10-9-2 and has a 2.81 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage for the season.

Joel Hofer Notches Third Shutout of the Season

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer recorded his third shutout of the season on Wednesday night, stopping the Winnipeg Jets from scoring with 24 saves in a 1-0 win. Hofer became the fifth goalie this season with as many as three shutouts. Minnesota's Jesper Wallstedt is the only one with four. While Hofer has impressed at times, he still holds a disappointing 6-7-2 record. The 25-year-old has allowed 2.97 goals with a .896 save percentage. St. Louis averages the second-fewest goals in the league, making it tough for the team's goalies to please fantasy managers. Jordan Binnington, who is 7-8-5 for the year, will take over the crease for Thursday's matchup against the New York Rangers.

Joel Hofer Shuts Out Mammoth

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer backstopped his team to a 1-0 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Saturday, saving 18 shots for his second shutout of the season. Hofer ended a four-game losing streak with Saturday's flawless performance. The 25-year-old has recorded each of his two shutouts this month, but he is having trouble landing in the winning column. Following 11 starts, Hofer holds a 3-5-2 record. He has allowed 3.45 goals with a .877 save percentage. Despite some recent outstanding performances, Hofer has been mostly unreliable for fantasy teams.

Joel Hofer Commits to Blues for Two More Years

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer has avoided restricted free agency by signing a new two-year deal with the team. He will earn $6.8 million over the next couple of campaigns. Hofer has provided solid goaltending for the Blues since making his NHL debut during the 2021-21 season. He compiled a 16-8-3 record during the 2024-25 campaign, allowing 2.64 goals with a .904 save percentage and one shutout. Hofer saw quite a bit of action behind Jordan Binnington, making 28 starts, and is likely to have a similar workload next season.

Joel Hofer In Blues Net Saturday

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer has been named the starter for Saturday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Hofer will make his 25th start of the season, looking to register a third consecutive win. Throughout the season, Hofer has put in strong performances as Jordan Binnington's backup, posting a 13-7-3 record. He holds a 2.71 goals-against average and has recorded a .903 save percentage with one shutout. On Saturday, Hofer is an outstanding fantasy option, as the Blues face one of the weakest teams in the league and have been on a roll lately with four consecutive wins.

Joel Hofer Shuts Out Islanders With 34 Saves

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer was unbeatable for the New York Islanders on Thursday, skating away from a 1-0 overtime win with his second career shutout. Hofer stopped the Islanders from scoring with 34 saves and also made an offensive impact, as Jake Neighbours scored the game's only goal off assists by Hofer and Philip Broberg. The Blues backup will be very happy with his start to the season, having won both of his outings so far. Hofer defeated San Jose 5-4 in overtime a week ago. Jordan Binnington is carrying a losing record early in the year at 1-2-0, and if he doesn't improve, Hofer could start receiving action more often.

Joel Hofer Getting The Nod Wednesday

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer will be between the pipes for Wednesday's contest against the Chicago Blackhawks. While Jordan Binnington has continued to get the bulk of the starts for the Blues, Hofer has been the superior netminder. He has yielded just 11 goals over his last five starts while posting a .926 save percentage in that time. For the season, the 23-year-old has posted a 2.74 goals-against average alongside a .913 save percentage across 28 games (25 starts), going 13-12-1 in that time. The Blues' playoff hopes are on life support as they sit five points back of the Vegas Golden Knights for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference but Vegas sports a game in hand.

Joel Hofer Getting The Nod Monday

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer is the confirmed starter for Monday's game against the visiting Philadelphia Flyers. It's just the second starter for Hofer in the New Year after he surrendered four goals in a 5-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Jan. 9. For the season, the 23-year-old has recorded a 2.87 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage across 15 outings (13 starts), going 7-7-0 in the process. Despite the light workload, Hofer is indeed outperforming No. 1 goaltender Jordan Binnington who sports a 3.04 GAA and a .906 Sv% in his 30 appearances (28 starts). Nonetheless, the youngster will continue to act as the backup barring a complete collapse from Binnington.

Joel Hofer Likely Between The Pipes Versus Dallas

St. Louis goalie Joel Hofer will likely be the starter against Dallas Wednesday. Hoffer endured the worst start of his career in his last appearance, allowing five goals on just 17 shots. In addition, he was pulled after playing only late in the first period. Despite this setback, the 22-year-old has been reliable for St. Louis this season, with a 3-0-1 record, a 2.79 goals-against-average, and a .915 save percentage. He is set to face Dallas, who is currently on a four-game winning streak and ranks seventh in the NHL in goals per game with an average of 3.44.

Joel Hofer Guards Cage Against Detroit

Despite stopping 28 of 30 shots, St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer was handed his first loss of the season in a 3-2 shootout defeat to the Detroit Red Wings in his last start. However, the 22-year-old netminder has been exceptional since being called up last week, boasting a 2-0-1 record, a 1.32 goals-against-average, and a .959 save percentage. Hofer will have a chance for redemption as he faces the Detroit Red Wings again on Thursday.

Joel Hofer Between The Pipes Tuesday

St. Louis Blues goalie Joel Hofer achieved his first-career shutout in his last start by making 33 saves on 33 shots in a win over Winnipeg on March 19th. The 22-year-old has been nothing short of exceptional in his first two starts of the season, boasting a perfect 2-0-0 record, a remarkable 1.02 goals-against-average, and an impressive .970 save percentage. He is facing off Tuesday against the struggling Detroit Red Wings, who have suffered three consecutive losses and have only won two of their last 12 matches.

Joel Hofer Starts For Blues Friday

St. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer will guard the cage Friday against Washington, with Jordan Binnington suspended for two games. Binnington lost his cool in Wednesday's matchup against Minnesota and has been suspended for two games for roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct. Hofer will make his first appearance of the season and will play in only his third career game. The 22-year-old has put together a strong 22-14-4 record in the AHL this season with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. Hofer has been doing well, but the Blues are a struggling team and Washington has a decent scoring record with a 3.10 goals-for average, so this is a tough matchup for the young goalie.
