Morgan Rielly Back in Action Tuesday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (lower body) will return from a one-game absence on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins. He will resume his duties on the first defensive pairing and the second power-play unit. Philippe Myers will make room in the lineup for Rielly, who has totaled 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists) in 67 appearances. Rielly's scoring rate has been abysmal recently, as he has finished scoreless in nine of his 10 outings this month. His offensive impact might again be limited on Tuesday against a Bruins team that ranks third in the NHL with 1,887 saves.

Morgan Rielly Unavailable Saturday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (lower body) won't play on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators and is considered day-to-day. According to Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube, Rielly aggravated a lower-body injury in Friday's overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. The 32-year-old has played in 67 of Toronto's 70 games this season, amassing 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists), 125 shots, and 96 blocks. Jack McCabe is the only Maple Leafs player with more blocks than Rielly this season. With Rielly out, McCabe might also be asked to take on more offensive responsibilities and is an option to join the second power-play unit.

Morgan Rielly Cleared to Play Friday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (illness) will play on Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes. He was initially questionable for the game after being away from the team on Thursday due to illness. Rielly has a chance to post his fifth consecutive 40-point campaign in 2025-26. He has tallied 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists) through 66 appearances, firing off 124 shots on goal and blocking 92 shots from opponents. However, Toronto's No. 1 defenseman has been in an offensive slump lately, going scoreless in eight of his last nine games.

Morgan Rielly Available After Olympic Break

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (upper body) will be back in the lineup after the Olympic break. Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube told reporters on Tuesday that Rielly is"good to go" after he missed a couple of games before the break with an upper-body injury. Rielly is set to post his fifth consecutive 40-point campaign in 2025-26. Currently, he sits on 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists) through 54 outings. Rielly also ranks third on his team with 74 blocks. Fantasy managers will hope that a few weeks of rest will help Rielly rediscover his scoring touch, as he's tallied just five points (two goals, three assists) in his past 15 appearances.

Morgan Rielly Out Through Olympic Break

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (upper body) will not be available for the final two games before the Olympic break. After sustaining an upper-body injury in Saturday's win over the Vancouver Canucks, Rielly will exit the lineup for Monday's meeting with the Calgary Flames. Rielly has been a busy man for the Maple Leafs, recording 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists), 106 shots, and 74 blocks in 54 appearances. He is second on the team in average ice time with 21:33 per game. Simon Benoit will enter the lineup on Monday, but won't offer anywhere near the same level of fantasy production. Jake McCabe will move into Rielly's spot on the first defensive pairing.

Morgan Rielly Returns to Action Saturday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (undisclosed) will return to the lineup for Saturday's tilt against the Buffalo Sabres. Toronto gets back its No. 1 defenseman after Rielly sat out Friday's matchup against the Sabres with an unspecified health issue. While the Maple Leafs have struggled so far this season, Rielly will be happy with his contributions. The 2024 All-Star has amassed six points (two goals, four assists) in seven outings. Rielly's return will bump Oliver Ekman-Larsson down from the first power-play unit.

Morgan Rielly Out on Friday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Buffalo Sabres. He was on the ice for an optional skate on Friday morning, but Rielly won't be ready to play due to an undisclosed injury. His absence will greatly impact the Maple Leafs, as Rielly is among the top-scoring defensemen in the league this season with six points (two goals, four assists) in seven games. From a fantasy perspective, Oliver Ekman-Larsson stands to benefit the most from Rielly's absence, as he is set to assume his position on the first power-play unit. Philippe Myers is expected to fill the gap in the lineup.

Morgan Rielly Questionable for Friday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (undisclosed) sat out practice on Thursday and may have to miss his first action of the season on Friday night against the Buffalo Sabres. Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube told reporters that Rielly is "dealing with something." At the start of the season, Rielly has been hot with six points (two goals, four assists) in seven games. The Maple Leafs have just lost Chris Tanev (upper body) from the lineup, and Rielly's absence would be a further blow for the defense. Dakota Mermis and Philippe Myers could make their season debuts on Friday, while Oliver Ekman-Larsson is poised to take over Rielly's duties on the first power-play unit if he can't play.

Morgan Rielly Registers Two Assists In Wednesday's Win

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly helped to set up two goals in Wednesday's 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers. He collected a power-play assist on a Max Pacioretty goal late in the first period and made it a multi-assist game for himself by helping Max Domi score in the second frame. This marked Rielly's seventh career multi-assist game in the postseason, placing him second in franchise history, with only Borje Salming (9) achieving more. Rielly is also closing in on Salming in the scoring charts, needing just four more points to become Toronto's all-time leader in playoff scoring among defensemen. With the Maple Leafs now 2-0 up against Florida, Rielly will get plenty of chances to reach the historic mark this year. He has recorded six points (three goals, three assists), 14 shots, and 20 blocks in eight games during the postseason.

Morgan Rielly Set To Return Wednesday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (upper body) appears ready to return for the team's game on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Rielly has missed four games while nursing an upper-body injury, but head coach Sheldon Keefe said that he expects the defender to be ready to play on Wednesday. Rielly has 51 points (seven goals, 44 assists) in 65 games from the back end and would be a big final-week addition to fantasy teams that are stashing him on IR. He should regain top powerplay duties upon his return.

Morgan Rielly To Miss Fourth Straight Game Monday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (upper body) will miss his fourth straight game Monday when the team takes on the Florida Panthers, although he did participate in the morning skate on Monday. The veteran is dealing with an upper-body injury and last played on March 24 in a 2-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. "He's day-to-day," Toronto head coach Sheldon Keefe said. "Today I think was his first time on the ice coming through this, so he will be day-to-day from here. But he's close to 100 percent here now." The veteran is in the midst of a nice season, his 11th in the NHL, as he has tallied seven goals and 51 points across 65 games on the season, adding 90 hits, 122 blocks, and a plus-eight rating to his ledger.

Morgan Rielly Doesn't Skate Friday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly was absent from Friday's practice due to an upper-body injury and has been ruled out for Saturday's contest against the Buffalo Sabres. Rielly didn't play Thursday night when the Leafs defeated the Washington Capitals by a 5-1 score. He remains listed as day to day. The 30-year-old is in the midst of a fine season, his 11th in the NHL, with seven goals and 51 points across 65 games while logging 23:49 of ice time per game. He has also added 90 hits and 122 blocked shots to his ledger. The Maple Leafs enter Saturday's contest with a 41-22-9 record, good for third in the Atlantic Division, although the Tampa Bay Lightning have closed within four points with the same number of games played.

Morgan Rielly Available Again On Thursday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly has served his five-game suspension and will be available to rejoin the lineup Thursday versus the Golden Knights. Impressively, Toronto won all five games without Rielly. His return should give a further boost to the red-hot team. The first-year All-Star has been in fantastic form all season, logging 43 points (seven goals, 38 assists) in 50 games. Rielly's return will bump Timothy Liljegren down from the first defensive pairing.

Morgan Rielly's Suspension Upheld

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has upheld Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly's five-game suspension for cross-checking Ottawa Senators forward Ridly Greig. Rielly was suspended for five games on Feb. 13, but the NHL Players' Association appealed the suspension on his part. The NHLPA claimed it to be excessive, considering Rielly had never been suspended before during his 11-year NHL career. Rielly, who has notched 43 points (seven goals, 36 assists) in 50 outings this season, has already sat out four contests and will serve the final game of his suspension on Wednesday versus Arizona.

Morgan Rielly Receives Five-Game Suspension

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly has been suspended for five games for a cross-check to the head of Ottawa forward Ridly Greig in Saturday's 5-3 loss. Reilly cross-checked Graig with 5.1 seconds remaining in the game after the Senators player had fired a slap shot into an empty net. The 2024 All-Star served the first game of his suspension on Tuesday versus St. Louis. He will be eligible to return to action on Feb. 22 versus Vegas. Jake McCabe had nearly three minutes of power-play time without Rielly on Tuesday, while Timothy Liljegren took Rielly's spot on the first defensive pairing next to T.J. Brodie. The latter lead the Maple Leafs blue line in ice time with 23:41.

Morgan Rielly Has First Three-Point Outing Of 2023-24

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly factored in three goals for the first time this season as the team closed out the Global Series on Sunday with a 4-3 overtime victory versus Minnesota. Rielly had the team's third goal and posted a pair of assists, including one on William Nylander's game-winner. Following a quiet opening to the campaign, Rielly has started to pick up speed, boosting his points total to 15 by averaging a point per game in eight November outings. His 12 assists are tied for the third-most on the team, and Rielly has also scored three goals in 17 appearances.

Morgan Rielly Extends Point Streak With An Assist

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly had a historic outing Thursday against Florida, setting a new franchise record with an eight-game postseason point streak. He got there with an assist on an early Alexander Kerfoot goal. Rielly led all skaters in ice time with 26:30 in the 3-2 loss, and he added one shot on goal and three hits to his tally. The team has started the second-round series poorly, but it's been a great postseason for Rielly, who has notched three goals and seven assists in eight games with a plus-nine rating. No Maple Leafs defenseman has managed more points in the first eight games of a single postseason.

Morgan Rielly Bags Four Assists In Game 2 Victory

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly tied a franchise record for most assists in a playoff game Thursday against Tampa Bay when he had four helpers in a 7-2 victory. He needed only 47 seconds of action to grab his first assist and already had three of them on board before the first intermission. Doug Gilmour was the last Maple Leafs player with four assists in a playoff game 29 years ago. Rielly has never tallied more than six points in one playoff campaign, but his Thursday's performance has given the 29-year-old a good chance to set a new career-high in 2023.

Morgan Rielly Sits On Saturday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly won't feature Saturday against Montreal for rest purposes. The Maple Leafs have been resting players regularly over the final few weeks of the regular season and it's Rielly's turn to sit on Saturday, along with T.J. Brodie. Timothy Liljegren and Erik Gustafsson will be drafted into the lineup. The latter is getting his first taste of action since March 23 and should aim to make a big impact, especially with Gustafsson getting a chance to fill in for Rielly on the first power-play unit.

Morgan Rielly Finally Gets His First Goal

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly was finally able to celebrate a goal in Sunday's 5-1 win over Washington, producing the game-winning tally 7:00 into the second period. He incredibly needed 69 shots on target to finally register his first goal of the season. Rielly has never been a prolific goal-scorer, but his career shooting percentage is near five percent and he really should have had a goal by now. The lack of goals has left Rielly averaging 0.60 points per game, which is above his career average, but the 28-year-old grabbed 0.83 points per game a year ago and he hasn't lived up to his reputation in fantasy hockey. With 36 games played, Rielly has amassed 22 points in total with 40 hits and 48 blocks.
