Troy Stecher Good To Go Thursday

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Troy Stecher (ear) is expected to play against Columbus on Thursday. He was injured in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Vegas when a puck hit Stecher's ear. Stecher recently put together a three-game assists streak. These are his lone points in 21 outings this season. Without the puck, he has recorded 25 blocks and 15 hits in 21 games. The 30-year-old will continue to skate with Darnell Nurse on the second defensive pairing Thursday night.

Troy Stecher Dealt To Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers have acquired defenseman Troy Stecher and a seventh-round pick from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a fourth-round pick. The Oilers acquired centers Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday and were rumored to be in the market for a cheap depth defenseman and Stecher fits that bill. The 29-year-old has appeared in 47 games for the Coyotes this season and has recorded one goal and five points along with 52 hits and 67 shots on goal in that time. The well-traveled veteran has skated in 487 career regular-season games between the Canucks, Red Wings, Kings, Flames, and Coyotes (twice).

Troy Stecher Set For Multi-Week Absence

Arizona Coyotes defenseman Troy Stecher has suffered a lower-body injury and won't be available for 4-6 weeks. He will miss his third game of the season on Monday against Pittsburgh. Stecher isn't a popular figure in fantasy hockey, but he has played a big part on the Coyotes blue line by registering 40 hits and 57 blocks in 42 games. He boasts the third-best plus/minus on the team with a plus-seven, though Stecher has tallied only five points (one goal, four assists). Juuso Valimaki, who's more of an offensive-minded defenseman, is set to enter the lineup in Stecher's absence on Monday as Arizona continues to use an extra defenseman.

Troy Stecher Traded To Los Angeles

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Troy Stecher has been traded to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2022 seventh-round pick. He has been a versatile veteran presence for the Red Wings this year. At a relatively low salary cap hit of $1,700,000 this year and an unrestricted free agent after the season, Stecher is a good add for the playoff-bound Kings. The 27-year-old defenseman still has a lot left to give and can slot in on a team's third-pairing.

Troy Stecher Has Surgery, Out Until February

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Troy Stecher (wrist) has undergone surgery and is set to be out until the break for the Olympics, which starts in February. The 27-year-old rearguard has already missed three weeks of action. Stecher managed one assist in six outings before getting injured. His role in Detroit has diminished this season, as the former Canuck has averaged only 14:28 of ice time. The team has also announced that depth forward Mitchell Stephens (lower body) will be out at least until the Olympics break as well.
