Nathan Walker Out for Eight Weeks

St. Louis Blues left wing Nathan Walker (upper body) was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday and is projected to miss eight weeks. The veteran forward has picked up nine points (three goals, six assists) in 25 contests this season while averaging 3.8 hits per game. Injuries continue to pile up for the Blues, who have been without Pius Suter (lower body) recently and just lost Jimmy Snuggerud (wrist) and Alexey Toropchenko (leg). At least Suter is expected to make his return on Thursday night against the Boston Bruins. Due to the injury situation in the attacking department, Suter may see more ice time than usual upon his return.

Nathan Walker Takes Down Detroit With A Hat Trick

St. Louis Blues left wing Nathan Walker came out of nowhere to produce his first career hat trick in Thursday's 6-2 win over Detroit. The 27-year-old Australian made his season debut and already had two goals in the opening period. He completed his hat trick in the third frame. Walker was plus-four for the night and led all skaters with five shots. This was a huge performance by Walker, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to repeat it any time soon. The NHL's first-ever Aussie boasted only three career goals in 25 appearances prior to Thursday.
