Patrick Kane News
Detroit Red Wings right wing Patrick Kane (illness) is questionable to play on Saturday against Florida. He was a late scratch for Thursday's meeting with Carolina due to an illness and might have to skip a second consecutive game now. Kane has been in top form lately and Detroit will be desperate to have him in the lineup to continue its playoff push. The former MVP has scored in three of his last four appearances, bagging nine points (four goals, five assists) over an eight-game span. Michael Rasmussen moved into the top six as Kane's replacement on Thursday and could fill in for him again versus the Panthers.
Detroit Red Wings winger Patrick Kane scored the overtime winner on Tuesday night versus the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets. Desperate for points, the Wings flirted with disaster on Tuesday, trailing the lowly Blue Jackets into the dying seconds of the game before Lucas Raymond scored to tie it with just 13 seconds to go. Kane would bury the overtime winner just 48 seconds into the extra frame. The winner was Kane's 15th goal of the season and he added a pair of assists, giving him 38 points in 38 games after signing a one-year deal with the Red Wings midway through the season following hip resurfacing surgery. The Red Wings improved to 35-28-6 on the season, good for the second and final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Detroit Red Wings right wing Patrick Kane had a special outing in his first game back in Chicago on Sunday, finishing a two-point performance with the game-winning goal in overtime. Kane's assist to Alex DeBrincat late in regulation helped Detroit take the game into the extra frame, and he finished the contest by making it 3-2 with 1:43 played in overtime. With the effort, Kane extended his point streak to eight games. He has collected five goals and seven assists during the streak, enjoying his best run of form since the days he still represented the home team in United Center. For the season overall, Kane boasts 12 goals and 28 points through 27 appearances.
Detroit Red Wings right wing Patrick Kane (lower body) will miss a seventh consecutive contest Wednesday versus Ottawa. Following Wednesday's action, Detroit will be off until Feb. 10, which gives Kane a good amount of recovery time, and he expects to be back after the All-Star break. The veteran star has totaled 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 19 games with the Red Wings this season. Robby Fabbri is currently filling in for Kane on the second line.
