Ryan Graves Evaluated For An Upper-Body Injury

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ryan Graves suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday's 3-2 victory over Columbus. He was limited to only seven shifts and 5.27 of ice time in the contest. Graves' exit left the Penguins without their leading shot-blocker. The 28-year-old has put his body on the line against 142 shots this season while also recording 72 hits in 70 games with 14 points (three goals, 11 assists). John Ludvig will likely enter the lineup if Graves can't play in Saturday's rematch versus the Blue Jackets.

Ryan Graves May Be An Option Tuesday

New Jersey Devils defenseman Ryan Graves (upper body) skated Tuesday morning and could be back in the lineup for Game 4 against Carolina. He missed the previous game with an upper-body injury, with Luke Hughes coming in to replace him. Hughes had an impressive playoff debut with two assists and is set to remain in the lineup Tuesday. Graves, who has only one point in nine playoff appearances this year, looks set to replace Kevin Bahl if he's good to go.

Ryan Graves Won't Play On Sunday

New Jersey Devils defenseman Ryan Graves (lower body) was been ruled out for Sunday's Game 4 against Carolina. The 27-year-old was injured in Friday's Game 2 of the second-round series and will give up his spot to Luke Hughes. Greaves is a big physical presence for the Devils who has recorded 27 hits in nine playoff games this season. Hughes, the younger brother of Devils star forward Jack, has yet to feature in the Stanley Cup Playoffs but did skate in two games for the team during the end of the regular season. He made an immediate impact with a goal and an assist, but playoff hockey is set to prove the 19-year-old with a whole other challenge.

Ryan Graves Out Against Boston

New Jersey Devils defenseman Ryan Graves (lower body) won't be in the lineup Friday versus Boston. He suffered a lower-body injury against Florida on Wednesday and he is still under evaluation. The 27-year-old boasts nine points from the season with 49 shots, 42 hits and 53 blocks added in 33 appearances. Damon Severson played massive minutes following Graves' injury on Wednesday and should do so again against the Bruins. He's had a poor season so far, but a bigger role could help him to get going.

Ryan Graves Suffers An Injury Wednesday

New Jersey Devils defenseman Ryan Graves left Wednesday's 4-2 win over Florida with an undisclosed injury. He saw the ice for only two shits and played 1:03 in total. The 27-year-old is ranked second on the team with 53 blocks, and he has registered 42 hits with 49 shots, nine points and a plus-18 rating. In John Marino (upper body), the team also lost another piece of its top four prior to Wednesday's action, and the injuries resulted in Damon Severson logging over 28 minutes of action. He could have another very busy night against Boston on Friday if Graves and Marino can't return.

Ryan Graves Nets Two Points On Friday Night

New Jersey Devils defenseman Ryan Graves assisted on one goal and scored another in Friday's 8-4 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. Graves had two shots on goal, two hits, and one blocked shot. Also, he was one of the few New Jersey players with an even plus-minus on Friday night. That was in 20:04 of ice time which included 4:40 on the penalty kill. Lost in the Dougie Hamilton signing was the Graves trade. The defenseman now has three goals and seven assists in 21 games. Graves is a nice fantasy gem of sorts in all formats.

Ryan Graves Traded to New Jersey

The Colorado Avalanche traded defender Ryan Graves on Thursday. He will be heading to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Mikhail Maltsev and a second-round pick in this year's draft. Maltsev, who is 23 years old, has recorded nine points in 33 career regular season contests. Graves played on Colorado's second defensive pairing, recording two goals and 13 assists in 54 games. The 26-year-old had an excellent plus-15 rating in 2021.

Ryan Graves Makes His Return Against San Jose

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Ryan Graves (upper body) will get back into the lineup on Monday against San Jose, after missing Saturday's 4-3 win in the matchup. The 25-year-old is a beast on the defensive end, having recorded 81 blocks and 65 hits through 47 games, and he's also chipped in offensively at times, picking up 14 points with a plus-12 rating. With the Avalanche missing some time due to COVID-19, they still have seven games left to play, and Graves' addition comes at a good time with Samuel Girard getting forced out of the lineup with an undisclosed injury.
