Tyson Foerster to Miss 2-3 Months

Philadelphia Flyers winger Tyson Foerster (upper body) will be out 2-3 months after being hurt in Monday's loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Foerster scored a team-leading 10th goal of the season against Pittsburgh and has logged three assists in 21 contests. He has played a big role in all situations for the Flyers, averaging over two minutes of power-play time (2:19) and 1:28 on the penalty kill. Due to Foerster's injury, Matvei Michkov will likely see increased usage moving forward, with Nicolas Deslauriers in line to rejoin the lineup.

Tyson Foerster Hurt in Monday's Loss

Philadelphia Flyers winger Tyson Foerster (upper body) was injured in an unusual manner during Monday's 5-1 defeat against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He left the ice holding his right shoulder after an attempted one-timer in the second period. Foerster scored Philadelphia's only goal in the contest, lighting the lamp on the power play. Last month, Foerster missed four games with a foot injury, and unfortunately, he may land back on the shelf after Monday night. The 23-year-old leads his team with 10 goals and has amassed 13 points in 21 outings. Matvei Michkov might take Foerster's spot in the top six, while the Flyers also must tweak their second power-play unit if he can't play.

Tyson Foerster on Track to Return Wednesday

Philadelphia Flyers winger Tyson Foerster (lower body) has been removed from Injured Reserve, Jackie Spiegel of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. This is a strong signal that Foerster is ready to rejoin the lineup on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers. Earlier in the day, Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet labeled Foerster a game-time decision for Wednesday's matchup. Due to a lower-body injury, Foerster has missed four contests. He has scored four goals and seven points in 11 games this term. On Wednesday, Foerster will make his comeback alongside his regular linemates, Noah Cates and Bobby Brink. The trio is also expected to operate on the second power-play unit.

Tyson Foerster Won't Play Sunday

Philadelphia Flyers winger Tyson Foerster (lower body) won't play on Sunday night against the Calgary Flames. The 23-year-old potted a power-play goal in Saturday's 5-2 defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he apparently sustained a lower-body injury during that game. The team announced that Foerster will be re-evaluated at a later date. Foerster has enjoyed a couple of three-game point streaks this season and boasts seven points (four goals, three assists) in 11 appearances. He's been playing in all situations, averaging 18:18 of ice time. While losing Foerster is a blow for the Flyers, they will get Sean Couturier (upper body) back in the lineup on Sunday.

Tyson Foerster Makes Preseason Debut Monday

Philadelphia Flyers left wing Tyson Foerster (elbow) will play in Monday's preseason encounter against the Boston Bruins. He will log his first preseason minutes after recovering from an elbow procedure. Following Monday's action, the Flyers have two more preseason games scheduled, giving Foerster a good opportunity to find some rhythm before the regular season starts. Foerster has improved year after year and could make another leap in 2025-26 as a top-six regular. He looks set to start the season on a line with Noah Cates and Bobby Brink, which new head coach Rick Tocchet has praised during training camp.

Tyson Foerster Ditches Non-Contact Jersey

Philadelphia Flyers winger Tyson Foerster (elbow) practiced in a regular jersey on Tuesday, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports. He arrived at training camp still recovering from offseason elbow surgery. The fact that Foerster has been cleared for contact is a good sign that he might be ready for game action soon. Foerster won't play on Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens, but he could be an option for Thursday's encounter with the Washington Capitals. The 23-year-old managed 25 goals and 43 points over 81 appearances last season. With further experience and development, he has the potential to achieve 50 points this season.

Tyson Foerster on Track to Be Healthy for Season Opener

Philadelphia Flyers winger Tyson Foerster (elbow) appears to be on track to be healthy for the start of the 2025-26 NHL campaign. Flyers general manager Danny Briere told Bill Meltzer of Hockey Hot Stove via text that "everything looks good right now" for Foerster, and he "should be ready for the season." The 23-year-old underwent elbow surgery during the offseason to treat an infection caused by an injury he sustained while playing for Team Canada at the World Championship. Foerster has produced back-to-back 20-goal campaigns in his first two years in the NHL and was tied for fourth in scoring on his team last season with 43 points (25 goals, 18 assists) in 81 games.

Tyson Foerster Signs Two-Year Extension with Flyers

Philadelphia Flyers forward Tyson Foerster signed a two-year extension on Thursday. The 23-year-old was approaching restricted free agency before finalizing a new deal with the club. His contract is valued at $7.5 million, resulting in a $3.75 million cap hit for the next two seasons. Foerster, who turned 23 in January, enjoyed a second consecutive 20-goal campaign in 2024-25 and had a career-high 43 points (25 goals, 18 assists) in 81 appearances. Tyson Foerster Celebrates First Hat Trick In Flyers Win

Philadelphia Flyers forward Tyson Foerster continued his late-season scoring surge with his first career hat trick in Wednesday's 8-5 triumph over the New York Rangers. After scoring three goals in four games, Foerster lit the lamp three times in a single contest, wrapping up his hat trick with an empty-net goal. He has become the second Flyers player in the past 15 years to record multiple 20-goal seasons at age 23 or younger. Foerster boasts 22 markers and 39 points in 77 games. The young forward will look to keep his hot streak going against the reeling New York Islanders on Saturday afternoon.
