Cam York To Miss Two Weeks

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Cam York (upper body) will miss at least two weeks. He came out of the lineup on Saturday versus Minnesota with an upper-body injury. York will likely miss six further contests because of the ailment. The 23-year-old has totaled three points (two goals, one assist) in seven games this season, firing off nine shots and recording 10 blocks with seven hits. Replacing York on Saturday, Erik Johnson went scoreless with one shot, one block, two hits, and a minus-one rating. He logged 14:41 of ice time on the third defensive pairing. Travis Sanheim and Rasmus Ristolainen teamed up on the first defensive pairing and played well by combining three points in a 7-5 win.

Cam York Uncertain To Play Saturday

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Cam York (undisclosed) could be out of action for the first time this season on Saturday against Minnesota. York missed Friday's practice, and Flyers head coach John Tortorella noted that he's uncertain about York's status for Saturday's game. York has been one of the better performers on a struggling team. Through seven outings, the 23-year-old has recorded three points (two goals, one assist) with nine shots, 10 blocks, and seven hits. Erik Johnson is poised to rejoin the lineup if York can't play. Meanwhile, Egor Zamula and Nick Seeler will get larger roles on the blue line. Saturday's matchup promises to be very difficult for the Flyers defense as they welcome the red-hot Kirill Kaprizov to town.

Cam York Injured On Thursday

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Cam York sustained an upper-body injury in Thursday's clash with the Maple Leafs. He couldn't carry on after absorbing a hit from Maple Leafs defenseman Simon Benoit in the second period. York finished with 15:28 of ice time. The 22-year-old has struggled offensively as of late, but he's had a solid year overall with the Flyers, recording 18 points (six goals, 12 assists), 77 shots, 48 hits, and 96 blocks in 55 contests. Only Travis Sanheim has averaged more ice time than him on the team, meaning Philadelphia will have a big gap to fill if York is forced to sit out some action.

Cam York Considered Day-To-Day

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Cam York (undisclosed) is considered day-to-day as he works his way back from an unspecified injury. The 22-year-old has been skating on his own, and it's not currently clear when he can begin group work again. However, York is dealing with only a minor injury, meaning he could still be available before the preseason finishes. The American blue-liner had a decent campaign in 2022-23 with 20 points (two goals, 18 assists) in 54 games and should be ready for another leap in the upcoming season.

Cam York Signs Extension With Flyers

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Cam York has extended his stay with the team for two more years. The 22-year-old agreed on a $3.2 million contract that will have a $1.6 million cap hit for the next two seasons. York was Philadelphia's first-round draft pick in 2019, and he has slowly started to make noise in the NHL, having notched 20 points in 54 appearances last season. The University of Michigan product has totaled five goals and 35 points in 87 NHL games overall. York's role on the Flyers blue line should steadily continue to grow in the upcoming seasons and fantasy managers should keep an eye on him.
