Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Nick Seeler (knee) is poised to make his season debut on Tuesday against Washington. Philadelphia has activated Seeler from Injured Reserve ahead of the tilt. The 31-year-old has been unavailable for the first few games of the season due to a knee injury sustained during preseason. Seeler led the Flyers with 205 blocks in 71 games last season while delivering 132 hits. However, fantasy managers can't rely on him to produce offense, as Seeler only had 13 points (one goal, 12 assists). He will be linking up with Jamie Drysdale on the third defensive pairing, bumping Erik Johnson out of the lineup.

"I just think getting back to my game as quickly as I can is probably the best thing for me, and that includes blocking shots," Seeler said. "But just playing simple and playing my game and hopefully can get back to that tonight." The defensive-minded Seeler has one goal and 12 points while adding 112 hits in 63 games this season.

The 30-year-old is currently scheduled to hit unrestricted free-agent status at the end of the season but it appears the Flyers could very well lock him up. The defense-first blueliner has recorded just one goal and 12 points on the season but he also has 112 hits and 78 penalty minutes on his ledger. Additionally, his 184 blocks rank first in the NHL and he is a plus-15 on the season. A valued penalty killer, Seeler is a veteran of 288 games in six NHL seasons with the Wild, Blackhawks, and Flyers. He currently carries a $775K cap hit.
