Zach Bogosian Inks Two-Year Extension With Wild

The Minnesota Wild have agreed to a two-year contract extension with veteran defenseman Zach Bogosian. The deal carries an average annual value of $1.25 million. The 33-year-old came to the Wild in a deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning in November in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. A rugged blueliner is in the final season of a three-year, $2.55 deal he signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the summer of 2021. Bogosian has collected one goal and nine points across 43 games on the season while skating 17:36 per game. He has added 80 hits, 51 blocks, and 43 penalty minutes to his ledger. He has played 830 career regular-season games between the Thrashers, Jets, Sabres, Lightning, Maple Leafs, and Wild.

Zach Bogosian Hurt In Tuesday's Loss

Minnesota Wild defenseman Zach Bogosian sustained an upper-body injury in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Winnipeg. He appeared to have been hurt late in the first period when Bogosian blocked a shot from Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers. The veteran had two blocks in total across 7:05 of action in the game. The Wild will miss his presence on the defensive end if Bogosian needs to take some time off to heal. He has tallied 83 hits and 53 blocks across 44 appearances. Offensively, Bogosian has contributed one goal and eight assists this season. Alex Goligoski and Jon Merrill are the candidates to enter the lineup in Bogosian's potential absence on Friday versus Edmonton.

Zach Bogosian Traded By Lightning To Wild

The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded defenseman Zach Bogosian to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The veteran blueliner has appeared in just four games with Tampa Bay this season, failing to record a point with five shots, two blocks, and two hits on the campaign. He won the 2020 Stanley Cup with the Lightning after the club added him off waivers from the Buffalo Sabres. A veteran of 787 career regular-season games, the 33-year-old has collected 57 goals and 213 points along with 715 penalty minutes in that time. The Wild also traded defenseman Calden Addison to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday in exchange for minor-league forward Adam Ruska and a 2026 fifth-round pick.

Zach Bogosian On Track For Season Debut

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Zach Bogosian (shoulder) appears ready to come off Injured Reserve and make his season debut on Saturday against Nashville. The team moved Cal Foote (upper body) to Injured Reserve on Friday, opening up a roster spot for Bogosian, who had shoulder surgery in the offseason. Bogosian lacks fantasy appeal, but the veteran will be a nice addition to the team in a situation where two defensemen have been sidelined. In addition to Foote, Nick Perbix (undisclosed) will likely be unavailable Saturday. Bogosian has tallied 208 points in 737 career games with 1332 shots, 1314 hits and 1013 blocks.

Zach Bogosian Returning To Lineup Tuesday Vs. Jets

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Zach Bogosian (lower body) will return to the lineup on Tuesday against the host Winnipeg Jets. The 31-year-old blueliner missed 15 games after sustaining a lower-body injury on January 15 in a 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars. Bogosian has been in and out of the lineup this season due to a variety of injuries, which has made it difficult to get any real momentum going. He has six points (two goals, four assists) and a plus-5 rating in 23 games played this season.

Zach Bogosian Could Miss Up To Six Weeks

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Zach Bogosian (lower body) is set to miss four to six weeks with a lower-body injury suffered in the team's opening-night defeat to Pittsburgh. He logged 14:14 of ice time in the game with a minus-two rating and didn't make it to Wednesday's practice. Tampa has called up Andrej Sustr from the minors to fill in for Bogosian. The Czech blue-liner is back in America after spending the past two seasons in the KHL with the Kunlun Red Star. Sustr, who started his career with the Bolts and who has also played for Anaheim, boasts 63 points, 322 blocks, 148 hits and 141 penalty minutes in 318 career games in the NHL.
