Zack MacEwen Exits Early Wednesday

New Jersey Devils right wing Zack MacEwen (undisclosed) was injured in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win against the Chicago Blackhawks. He left the action midway through the first period after taking a hit from Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy. This was only MacEwen's second appearance after he had to miss nearly a month of action due to an upper-body injury. Cody Glass (undisclosed) couldn't complete Wednesday's contest either, which may lead to several lineup changes for the next game. However, as both are bottom-six forwards, the absence of MacEwen and Glass won't make an impact in fantasy hockey.

Zack MacEwen to Re-Enter Devils Lineup Monday

New Jersey Devils right wing Zack MacEwen (upper body) has been activated from Injured Reserve and is poised to re-enter the lineup for Monday's tilt against the New York Islanders. He's available to play after missing 13 games due to an upper-body injury. On Monday, MacEwen will make only his second appearance of the season, skating on the fourth line alongside Paul Cotter and Luke Glendening. While MacEwen will bring a physical presence to the Devils' lineup, he is unlikely to have an impact in fantasy hockey.

Zack MacEwen Out for "Extended Period of Time"

New Jersey Devils right wing Zack MacEwen (undisclosed) is set to miss time after getting hurt late in Saturday's clash against the Tampa Bay Lightning. "He sustained an injury in the last game later in the third period. He's going to miss an extended period of time," Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe said. "The length we won't know until later on. That's the situation with him." On Saturday, MacEwan jumped into the lineup to replace Evgenii Dadonov (hand). Unfortunately, now he has to miss time himself. Brian Halonen will come into the lineup as MacEwen's replacement on Monday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Halonen has had some offensive success in the AHL, but he's unlikely to make an impact in the NHL as a fourth-liner.

Zack MacEwen Clears Waivers, Assigned To AHL

Ottawa Senators winger Zack MacEwen has cleared waivers and has been assigned to AHL Belleville. The 27-year-old has recorded two goals and three points across 22 games this season while adding 38 hits and 46 penalty minutes to his ledger in just 6:23 of average ice time per game. MacEwen has appeared in 208 regular-season games in parts of six NHL seasons, notching 15 goals, 31 points, and 291 penalty minutes in stints with the Canucks, Flyers, Kings, and Senators.

Zack MacEwen Waived By Senators

Ottawa Senators forward Zack MacEwen was placed on waivers on Thursday afternoon. The physical winger came out of the lineup to make room for the returning Josh Norris in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the visiting Washington Capitals and is likely headed for Belleville of the American Hockey League. The 27-year-old has skated in two games with the Sens this season, notching an assist and a pair of shots on goal while averaging just 6:39 of ice time per game on the team's fourth line. A veteran of 188 career NHL games, MacEwen has accrued 13 goals, 29 points, and 245 penalty minutes with the Canucks, Flyers, Kings, and Senators.
