Bryan Woo Keeps Rolling With Sixth Win

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryan Woo had another excellent start on Sunday, pitching seven innings of one-run ball against the San Francisco Giants. Woo allowed just four hits and didn't walk a batter in this one. He also collected seven strikeouts and generated 16 whiffs, 12 of which came on his fastball. When he's been healthy, Woo has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this year, pitching to a stellar 2.05 ERA and 0.81 WHIP. While those ratios will likely increase, Woo should be able to maintain very good numbers based on his ability to generate weak contact. He is a must-start pitcher in fantasy.

Bryan Woo Punches Out Seven

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryan Woo turned in a solid start on Thursday, allowing three runs over 6 IP against the Detroit Tigers. Woo allowed five hits and walked one while striking out a season-high seven. It was an encouraging start for Woo, who generated eight whiffs on his fastball and a 32% CSW overall. The 24-year-old has been rock solid when healthy this year, pitching to a 2.27 ERA and 0.88 WHIP. The problem has been the health, as he's had multiple injuries that keep popping up from start to start, making him hard to trust in fantasy. Still, if he can continue performing like he has in his past two starts, he will quickly become a good option.

Bryan Woo Tosses Seven Scoreless Innings In Win

Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo threw a gem in his team's 10-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday. Woo tossed seven innings of shutout ball while allowing five hits, no walks, and striking out six to earn the win. The 24-year-old's quality start improved his record to 5-1 on the season, to go along with a 2.08 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and 43 strikeouts over 60 2/3 innings of work. Woo has missed time this season due to two separate stints on the injured list but he appears to be fully healthy and is hitting his stride as the season comes down to the final two months. He should be a solid mid-rotation starting pitcher in fantasy leagues moving forward.

Bryan Woo Officially Named Friday’s Starter

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryan Woo (hamstring) is officially listed as Friday's starter on MLB.com. The right-hander was dealing with a lingering hamstring injury all week after he left his last start early. This was the same injury that caused him to spend a minor stint on the injured list in July. The Cal Poly product has performed very well this season, holding a strong 2.35 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and a 6:37 BB:K ratio. Under the hood, he sports a near-perfect 2.5% barrel rate and an above-average 34.4% hard-hit rate. Woo should be started in all standard leagues but should be faded in DFS this evening as he will face the high-powered Philadelphia Phillies.

Bryan Woo Exits Early Saturday Due To Hamstring Pain

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryan Woo left Saturday's matchup against the White Sox with a 3-1 lead after throwing just 70 pitches due to some discomfort he felt in his right hamstring, which is the one that put him on the IL last month. Despite the early exit, manager Scott Servais stated that Woo is still expected to make his next start, which would come at home next Friday against the Phillies. Injuries have marred Woo's 2024 campaign, as he's made just 11 starts for Seattle, but when he's been able to pitch, the righty has been effective. The 24-year-old has a 2.35 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 6:37 BB:K over 53.2 innings pitched.

Bryan Woo Reinstated And Starting On Friday

The Seattle Mariners reinstated right-hander Bryan Woo (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list on Friday and optioned right-hander Eduard Bazardo to Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move. Woo will make the start on Friday versus the division-rival Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim and is a recommended fantasy play despite this being his first start coming off the IL. In his lone minor-league rehab start for High-A Everett on July 6, Woo gave up two runs while walking two and striking out two in 2 2/3 innings (45 pitches). The 24-year-old might not make it too deep into Friday's outing, but the matchup is just too nice to pass up, and he had also gone 3-1 with a 1.77 ERA and 0.69 WHIP with 28 strikeouts and only three walks in his 40 2/3 innings prior to landing on the IL again with his hamstring injury. In his first meeting with the Halos on May 31, Woo went six shutout innings.

Bryan Woo To Return This Weekend Against Angels

Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo (hamstring) will be activated from the 15-day injured list this weekend to face the division-rival Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim, according to manager Scott Servais. The skipper didn't specify which of the four games that Woo will start, though. Woo's rotation turn comes up on Friday, but the Mariners could re-slot after their off day on Monday. Even though Woo only threw 2 2/3 innings in his only minor-league rehab start last Saturday, the 24-year-old has been excellent when healthy in 2024 and should be considered a must-start this weekend against one of the worst offenses in baseball in the Angels. Woo has been bit by the injury bug multiple times this year, but otherwise he's been outstanding for fantasy managers, going 3-1 with a 1.77 ERA and 0.69 WHIP with 28 K's and only three walks in 40 2/3 innings over eight starts in his second year in the big leagues.

Bryan Woo Feeling Good, Next Start Likely To Be For Mariners

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryan Woo (hamstring) threw 45 pitches for High-A Everett on Saturday. Woo came away from the outing feeling good after allowing two earned runs in 2 2/3 innings with a hit, two walks, and two strikeouts. The next start for the rehabbing right-hander is likely to be with the Mariners in Anaheim later this week. In eight starts for the Mariners this season, Woo is 3-1 with a 1.77 ERA and 0.69 WHIP. He is an elite pitcher when healthy but the trouble has been staying on the mound and putting together a consistent string of starts.

Bryan Woo To Make Rehab Start This Weekend

Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo (hamstring) has been cleared to make his first minor-league rehab start for High-A Everett this weekend. Woo is trying to recover from a mild hamstring injury and could only need one rehab start if all goes well this weekend before rejoining Seattle's starting rotation before the All-Star break. The 24-year-old has been held back by multiple injuries in 2024, but when he's been available, he's been excellent, going 3-1 with a 1.77 ERA (2.72 FIP) and 0.69 WHIP with 28 strikeouts and just three walks in 40 2/3 innings over eight starts in his second major-league season. Woo is sporting only a 18.7% strikeout rate after striking out 25.1% of the hitters he faced in his rookie season, but he's been able to induce plenty of weak contact while showing pinpoint command. He deserves to be stashed in most fantasy leagues while he's on the IL.

Bryan Woo Goes Back On Injured List

Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo (hamstring) is heading back to the 15-day injured list on Tuesday with what he called a low-grade hamstring strain. Woo suffered the hamstring strain in his start on Monday night in Tampa against the Rays and will now miss at least several weeks. Although Woo's injury doesn't sound serious, given the timing of the injury, he may be fighting an uphill battle to return to Seattle's starting rotation before the All-Star break in mid-July. In a corresponding move, the M's called up pitcher Collin Snider from Triple-A Tacoma. Woo has pitched great in 2024 but has had terrible injury luck. Emerson Hancock would be the logical replacement for Woo in Seattle, but he's currently dealing with lower-back tightness at Tacoma. Woo deserves to be stashed where he's rostered after going 3-1 so far this year with a 1.77 ERA and 0.69 WHIP in eight starts.
