Bryson Stott Moving to Third Base

The Philadelphia Phillies acquired All-Star infielder Luis Arraez from the San Francisco Giants on Monday, causing a shakeup on the Phillies' infield going forward, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Arraez will continue to play second base in Philly, and the team's first choice appears to be to move Bryson Stott to third base and Alec Bohm to first base. The domino effect means that first baseman Bryce Harper will be moving back to right field. The 28-year-old Stott already has eligibility in Yahoo leagues at second base and shortstop, so now he'll gain third-base eligibility to close out the 2026 season and for next year, which will definitely be a boost to his fantasy profile. The former first-rounder in 2019 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, is currently hitting a modest .252/.317/.407 with a .723 OPS, eight home runs, 50 RBI, 46 runs scored, and 19 steals in 106 games and 409 plate appearances in 2026 in his fifth year in the big leagues with the Phillies. Stott has minimal power and on-base skills, but he's useful for infield depth in deeper fantasy leagues for his speed and positional versatility. He's rostered in exactly half of Yahoo leagues.

Bryson Stott Shows Signs of Life in Sunday's Win Over Yankees

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott had a much-needed big game at the plate in Sunday's 11-4 win over the visiting New York Yankees at Citizens Bank Park. Stott went 3-for-4 at the plate with a solo home run, a double, and a season-high five RBI. The 28-year-old entered Sunday's series finale with a .268 average (19-for-71) with no home runs, four doubles, two triples, two RBI, eight runs scored, one stolen base, four walks, and 18 strikeouts in 19 games and 76 plate appearances in the month of July. The former 14th overall selection in the 2019 MLB draft out of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, is now slashing .252/.307/.405 with a .712 OPS, only eight home runs, 47 RBI, 17 stolen bases, and 41 runs scored in 100 games and 386 plate appearances in 2026 in his fifth year in the majors with the Phillies. Power has never been a big part of Stott's game, but he does continue to have fantasy value for his speed on the base paths. Fantasy managers will hope that Stott will fare better at the plate for the rest of July and going into August this weekend.

Bryson Stott Can Outrun His First-Half Price

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott finished the first half at .249/.308/.393 with seven homers, 42 RBI, 37 runs, and 17 steals in 353 plate appearances. Not one caught stealing. That speed has kept the fantasy line useful while the bat slowly comes around. Stott hit .287/.374/.415 in June, and the contact underneath looks better than it did a year ago. His hard-hit rate jumped from 29.5% to 38.3%, with the barrel rate up from 5.1% to 6.8%. Statcast has him at a .264 expected average and .407 expected slugging percentage. Nothing here screams middle-of-the-order breakout, especially with Philadelphia usually batting him sixth and dropping him to ninth against Tarik Skubal on July 12. Still, 17-for-17 on steals with better contact is worth buying. A modest lift in average and power could make Stott a real second-half asset.

Bryson Stott Hitless in Four Straight Games, Offensive Concerns Growing

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott continues to search for answers at the plate, hitting just .174 over his last seven games and going hitless in each of his last four contests. The recent struggles have dropped his season line to a .222/.270/.375 slash line with a .645 OPS across 51 games. Stott has still contributed five home runs, but his offensive approach has shifted this season. He is pulling the ball more frequently and has moved away from the all-fields profile that helped fuel his success in previous years. The former first-round pick should continue to receive regular playing time because of his strong defense and baserunning value. However, fantasy managers may want to consider other middle-infield options until signs of a turnaround begin to emerge.

Bryson Stott Sitting Again on Monday Against Southpaw

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott will get a breather on Monday in the series opener against the division-rival Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park. Veteran infielder Edmundo Sosa made the start at the keystone and is hitting sixth for the Phillies with Stott starting on the bench against left-hander Foster Griffin. It's the second straight day on the bench for Stott against a left-handed starting pitcher. If that continues, it will obviously be bad news for Stott and his fantasy managers in 2026. The 28-year-old former 14th overall pick in 2019 out of the University of Nevada has gotten off to a nice start at the plate in his first three games, though, going 3-for-8 (.375) with an RBI and a stolen base. Stott really struggled against southpaws in 2025, going 25-for-111 (.225) against them with a .575 OPS and just one of his 13 home runs on the season.

Bryson Stott Remains a High-Floor, Low-Ceiling Second Base Option

Across 560 plate appearances in 2025, Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott hit .257/.328/.391 with 13 home runs, 66 RBI, 66 runs scored, and 24 stolen bases. Stott looked like a potential future star in 2023, when he hit .280 with 15 home runs and 31 stolen bases. However, the 28-year-old has settled in a level a notch below what he showed in that banner year, as he's hit .251 and averaged 12 home runs over the last two seasons. With a 9.6% walk rate and 16.3% strikeout rate in 2025, Stott has quality plate skills that provide him with a high floor. However, he owns just a 4.4% career barrel rate and made hard contact just 29.5% of the time in 2025, so his power upside is limited. Perhaps most worryingly for his fantasy profile, the lefty-swinging Stott owns a .666 OPS in 529 career plate appearances against left-handed pitching and has lost some playing time against same-handed starters over the past two years. The Phillies have a quality right-handed infielder in Edmundo Sosa on their bench, which could mean Stott functions as a platoon bat once again in 2026. The lost playing time hurts Stott's ability to compile counting stats, which is his main appeal to fantasy managers. His speed gives him a safe floor, but Stott's fantasy upside has a firm ceiling.

Bryson Stott Back in Action Versus Marlins

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott (elbow) is back at the keystone and is hitting sixth against the division-rival Miami Marlins and right-hander Cal Quantrill on Tuesday. Stott is back in the lineup a day after suffering a hyperextended elbow in the win over Miami on Monday. Outside of some speed (11 stolen bases), the 27-year-old hasn't done a whole lot for fantasy managers, and he's also been struggling so far in the month of June. He hasn't had a multi-hit this month and is batting .146 (7-for-48) with no homers, three RBI and eight strikeouts in 14 games played. Stott is slashing just .236/.300/.329 with a weak .629 OPS and a .244 xBA. He's in the 72nd percentile in contact rate, but Stott just doesn't square the ball up or hit the ball hard enough to make much of an impact in run production and batted-ball metrics.

Bryson Stott Dealing with a Hyperextended Elbow

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott (elbow) may get at least Tuesday off after hyperextending his elbow on a swing on Monday, according to manager Rob Thomson. Stott was able to finish the game, but will undergo further evaluation to see if he needs some downtime to recover. The team will be cautious with the 27-year-old lefty to avoid the issue getting worse. Stott has struggled his season and is batting just .236 with four homers, a .283 wOBA, and only a 26.9% hard-hit rate. Now that he's also battling an injury, fantasy managers in standard-sized leagues may want to consider alternatives from the waiver wire. Stott has good power and speed potential, but hasn't been able to live up to it yet this season.

Bryson Stott Posts Three-RBI Game

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott came into this game in a bad slump, but was able to have a productive game on Saturday. Stott connected on a solo home run off right-hander Carmen Mlodzinski in the third inning. He did a little bit of everything in this game as he went 2-for-5 with a homer, three RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base in the win. Hopefully this nice performance will help Stott get back on track. Despite his slump, Stott is still worth rostering and starting in most 12-team formats.

Bryson Stott Homers, Doubles In Win Over Rays

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 7-6 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Stott scored twice, doubled, and added a sacrifice hit (bunt) that would eventually push across the game-winning run in the top of the tenth inning. The UNLV product was clutch late in the game for the Phillies, blasting a three-run bomb in the top of the eighth to bring the team within one run. It was his third of the season, and only hard-hit ball of the contest. Though he did register two others at 93.7 and 94.2 MPH. Thursday marks back-to-back multi-hit efforts for the 27-year-old, but it's worth noting that he's out-performing his .249 xBA (.277). He's done that before -- as recently as 2023 when he hit .280 -- but his batted ball metrics are worse off this season. He's striking out more, too (20.7%).
