Carlos Correa Ends 23-Game Home Run Drought

Houston Astros infielder Carlos Correa hit his first home run since June 28, a span of 23 games, in a 6-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. It was one of just three hits for Houston, which was no match for Red Sox starter Lucas Giolito. Correa, meanwhile, now has his first homer in his second stint with the Astros. He starred with the Astros from 2015-21, left in free agency for the Minnesota Twins, and is back in Houston after the two teams swung a deal at the July 31 trade deadline. The Astros and fantasy managers are left to hope the trade will reignite Correa during a down season. The 30-year-old is hitting .266/.318/.390 with eight homers, 32 RBI, and 43 runs scored over 377 plate appearances.

Carlos Correa Back From Illness, Hitting Cleanup in Return to Houston

Houston Astros infielder Carlos Correa (illness) is back in action on Friday and will start at third base and bat cleanup in Friday's series opener against the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Cooper Criswell at Fenway Park in his return to the Astros. Correa was held out of the lineup for the Twins on Wednesday after experiencing lightheadedness the day prior, but he's back now after an off day on Thursday after being traded to the Astros. The 30-year-old Puerto Rican spent the first seven years of his career in Houston and won a World Series with the club in 2017. With Jeremy Pena (ribs) returning from the injured list, Correa will move from shortstop to third base with Isaac Paredes facing a season-ending hamstring injury. Correa has hit .267 (90-for-337) with only seven home runs and 31 RBI in 2025, but he will be gaining third base eligibility for the 2026 campaign.

Astros Acquire Carlos Correa From the Twins

The Houston Astros agreed to a deal to reacquire shortstop Carlos Correa (head) from the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, a source tells MLB.com's Brian McTaggart. Correa left Tuesday's game due to lightheadedness and was held out of Wednesday's contest, but it's not believed to be a serious injury and he should play for the Astros this weekend. The Astros also acquired veteran infielder Ramon Urias from the Orioles on Wednesday with Isaac Paredes (hamstring) potentially missing the rest of the season. Now with Correa back in town -- he was with Houston from 2015-21 -- Correa figures to be the favorite to start at third base if Paredes isn't able to return. Shortstop Jeremy Pena (rib) is on the IL but is expected to return on Friday. Correa can also fill in at DH. Fantasy managers will be hoping Correa turns it around in a familiar environment, as he's hitting .267 with only seven homers and 31 RBI in 93 games in 2025.

Carlos Correa to Return on Friday

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (head) expects to be in the lineup for the Twins on Friday, when the team opens a series with the Guardians in Cleveland. The 30-year-old veteran had to leave Tuesday's game and sat out Wednesday due to a migraine, but there was also speculation about him possibly being traded at the deadline. He has a full no-trade clause and downplayed the possibility of playing anywhere else when asked about it on Wednesday. This year, Correa is batting .267 with seven homers, just a .119 ISO and .337 wOBA. He has a 97 wRC+, which indicates he's been below league average this season. He'll look to turn it around with a strong finish, and it doesn't look like the migraine issues will hold him back at all moving forward.

Carlos Correa Not in Lineup for Series Finale

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (illness) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting Boston Red Sox after he was pulled early from Tuesday's tilt with lightheadedness. Brooks Lee will take over at shortstop and will hit second versus Red Sox right-hander Brayan Bello. With a scheduled day off on Thursday, the Twins are hoping that the 30-year-old Correa will be feeling much better and be ready to return to the lineup for Friday's series opener on the road against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians. Correa should be considered day-to-day for now, and he could be on the move this week at the trade deadline with the Houston Astros considering a reunion. Lee, who has hit .256 with 10 home runs and 43 RBI in his first full season in the big leagues, would be the beneficiary if Correa is traded by Thursday.

Carlos Correa Exits Early Tuesday with Lightheadedness

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (illness) left Tuesday's game early with what manager Rocco Baldelli described as lightheadedness. Correa spoke with the team's head trainer multiple times before exiting during the top of the third inning. Twenty-four-year-old Brooks Lee took over at shortstop. Correa is day-to-day. The 30-year-old has taken a step back following an excellent 2024 season. Through 93 games, he is slashing .267/.319/.386 with limited power production. The Twins will likely be cautious with their star infielder as they continue their push for a postseason spot.

Carlos Correa Returns to Twins Lineup

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (ankle) is back in the lineup for his team's Sunday game against the Pittsburgh Pirates after being held out on Saturday. His return is excellent news for Minnesota, as it looked like Correa may have suffered a serious injury when Pirates outfielder Tommy Pham collided with his lower leg in a play at second base on Friday night. Injuries have historically been an issue for Correa, but he's managed to largely stay healthy in 2025, logging 318 plate appearances so far. However, his production on the field is below his usual standard. Correa has posted a .261/.302/.385 slash line with seven home runs and 30 RBI.

Carlos Correa Sitting on Saturday

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (ankle) is out of the lineup for his team's Saturday afternoon game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Correa left the team's 2-1 win over Pittsburgh on Friday night in the seventh inning after Pirates outfielder Tommy Pham collided with his lower leg in a scary-looking play at second base. Initial reporting indicates a mild ankle sprain for Correa, and with the All-Star Break in sight, it seems likely that Minnesota will let him rest for the remainder of the weekend. The 30-year-old Correa has had an underwhelming season so far, slashing .261/.302/.385 with seven home runs, 30 RBI, and 35 runs scored. Correa's 5.7% walk rate in 2025 is significantly worse than his career average (10.3%), and his .302 OBP would be his lowest single-season mark. He has a history of ankle issues, so this latest injury is a worrying one for fantasy managers hoping for a second-half bounce back.

Carlos Correa Exits Game with Mild Ankle Sprain

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa left a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday with a mild left-ankle sprain, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Correa went 1-for-3 before the Twins replaced him at shortstop with Brooks Lee in the top of the seventh inning. The injury may wrap up the first half of the season for Correa, who would get more time to rest with the All-Star break coming. Correa earned his third All-Star nod last year, but this season has been a struggle. He's hitting an underwhelming .261/.302/.385 with seven home runs and 30 RBI in 318 plate appearances.

Carlos Correa Resting Thursday

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa is not in the lineup for their game against the Miami Marlins on Thursday. Brooks Lee will start at short and bat fourth against Marlins starter Eury Perez. This looks like a rest day for Correa, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 2-1 win over the Marlins on Wednesday night. After playing just 86 games in 2024, Correa has already appeared in 75 contests this year. Correa's production hasn't been up to his typical standards, though. He's hitting .259/.299/.387 with seven homers, 29 RBI, 32 runs scored, and a career-low 5.5% walk rate in 291 plate appearances.
