Loperfido hasn't been afforded regular playing time since joining the team at the trade deadline and has hit just .198 (18-for-91) with two homers and six RBI in his 27 games with Toronto. Barger homered on Tuesday but also left the contest early with a left- knee injury, so he should be considered day-to-day. With the Blue Jays having Thursday off, the hope is that the 24-year-old Barger can return for the series opener on Friday in Atlanta against the Braves.
