Carter Kieboom News
Washington Nationals infielder Carter Kieboom (elbow) will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery, according to Nationals manager Dave Martinez. Kieboom had been sidelined all year with an elbow injury. He never had a clear timeline for a return, but it wasn't originally believed he would miss the entirety of the 2022 season until now. Kieboom has struggled during his time in the majors, slashing just .197/.304/.285 over 106 games from 2019 to 2021. Assuming his recovery goes well, there's a chance he'll be ready for spring training next year.
Washington Nationals third baseman Carter Kieboom (elbow) has resumed throwing, while outfielder Ehire Adrianza (quadriceps) has begun running on an anti-gravity treadmill. Kieboom can't come off the injured list for another month, and it's still unclear if he'll be ready when he's eligible to return on June 7. The 24-year-old has yet to play in 2022 due to his injury, but when he's healthy enough to return, he figures to compete for playing time at third base with Maikel Franco. Adrianza suffered a left quadriceps strain in spring training on March 31 and was put on the 60-day injured list a few weeks ago, so he won't be able to return until early June. The 32-year-old will go on a minor league rehab assignment before that, and he'll represent bench depth for the Nats when he returns.
Washington Nationals infielder Carter Kieboom (forearm) suffered an injury during a pregame fielding drill on Friday. Now, the organization is going to shut down the young infielder for at least four weeks, but he could be sidelined up to six weeks. There's a good chance that Kieboom doesn't take the field until sometime in May. That being said, Maikel Franco has a great chance of beginning the season as the starting third baseman. However, neither player has a ton of fantasy value. Franco might have slightly more because of his power numbers, but neither are attractive fantasy options right away.
