Cristopher Sanchez Tosses Eight Shutout Innings

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez was dominant on Sunday, earning his 10th win of the season in a 2-0 victory over the Tigers. He pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out six. He needed only 84 pitches to complete the outing. The 28-year-old has been sensational this season, as his ERA is now down to 2.40 on the year with 145 strikeouts and 34 walks in 138 innings. This was a great bounce back after allowing four runs in his previous start, which was only the second time he's given up more than three runs all season. He looks like a true ace for fantasy purposes, and could end the season regarded as a top-12 starting pitcher.

Zack Wheeler, Cristopher Sanchez to Lead Phillies Against Red Sox

Philadelphia Phillies standout starters Zack Wheeler and Cristopher Sanchez will make their second-half debuts in a home series against the Boston Red Sox during the upcoming week. Wheeler will start Monday, Sanchez will toe the rubber Tuesday, and left-hander Jesus Luzardo will get the ball Wednesday. Wheeler was spectacular in the first half en route to his third All-Star nod, going 9-3 with a 2.36 ERA, a 0.86 WHIP, and 154:26 K:BB in 122 innings. Sanchez was a controversial All-Star snub after the southpaw went 8-2 with a 2.50 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP, and 122 strikeouts against 32 walks over 115 frames.

Cristopher Sanchez Tosses Quality Start, Earns the Win

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez allowed one run on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts in 7 innings in a 2-1 victory against the Padres. This was his eighth win of the season, bringing his record to 8-2. The 28-year-old has been one of the most reliable pitchers in baseball, as this was his eighth straight quality start. The lefty heads into the break with a 2.50 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 122 strikeouts through 115 innings pitched. He's been regarded as one of the biggest All-Star snubs, and the Phillies recently activated his bonus All-Star clause in his contract to reward him, despite not officially making the team.

Cristopher Sanchez Records 11 Strikeouts

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez was once again sharp on the mound during Thursday's outing against the Houston Astros. Sanchez isn't known as a big strikeout pitcher, but had his swing and miss stuff working on Thursday. The left-hander tossed six innings, allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out 11 batters. Sanchez has been excellent lately as he's allowed two earned runs or less in six straight starts. He'll take a 2.79 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 103/29 K/BB ratio into his next start against the San Diego Padres.

Cristopher Sanchez Goes Eight Strong Innings in Win Over Marlins

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez picked up his sixth win of the year in a 2-1 victory over the Miami Marlins on Thursday. Sanchez was extremely efficient in this one, needing just 91 pitches to get through eight one-run innings. He scattered five hits, struck out four, and didn't walk a batter. While he didn't end up with many strikeouts, Sanchez did generate 11 whiffs (10 on his changeup) and had a solid 34% CSW. The lefty improves to 6-2 on the season with a 2.87 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 92 strikeouts in 87 IP. Sanchez has been phenomenal this season and is a clear must-start pitcher. His next outing is scheduled for next Wednesday, when he will face the Houston Astros on the road.

Cristopher Sanchez Tosses Seven Solid Innings on Saturday

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez looked good on Saturday, holding the Toronto Blue Jays to just two runs over seven frames in a 3-2 win. Sanchez scattered five hits, walked none, and struck out five. Unfortunately for the lefty, he left the game an inning before the Phillies took the lead, so he took a tough-luck no-decision. Sanchez has been terrific in June, allowing just five runs over 20 IP (2.25 ERA). He now owns a 5-2 record, 3.05 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 88 strikeouts in 79 IP. The WHIP is a little high, but everything else looks great for the 28-year-old. He has earned must-start status in fantasy. Sanchez's next start should come next Thursday in a tasty matchup on the road against the Miami Marlins.

Cristopher Sanchez Strikes Out Nine in Tough-Luck Loss

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez pitched well but got handed the loss in a 2-1 defeat to Paul Skenes and the Pirates on Sunday. He allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine over seven innings. The 28-year-old has been rock solid all season long, as he's allowed more than three runs in a start only one time. This was his seventh quality start in 13 tries, and he now has a 3.10 ERA and 1.29 WHIP on the season. The lefty will look to keep things rolling in his next start, currently set to be against the Blue Jays.

Cristopher Sanchez Moved Up to Tuesday

Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez is having his next start moved up from Wednesday to Tuesday's series opener at Rogers Centre against the hosting Toronto Blue Jays with right-hander Zach Wheeler (personal) being skipped this series with his wife scheduled to give birth any day now. It means that Sanchez will get a two-start week and also pitch on Sunday in a plus-plus matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 28-year-old Dominican southpaw has been a great value pick this year for fantasy managers in his fifth year with the Phillies, as he's gone 4-1 with a 3.32 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 70:22 K:BB in 59 2/3 innings over his 11 starts. Sanchez will be facing a Blue Jays offense that ranks 10th in OPS (.723) this year, but he should still be in all starting lineups for both of his start this week with Wheeler away from the team.

Cristopher Sanchez Strikes out Five in No-Decision

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez was saddled with a no-decision in his team's 5-4 win in their first game of a doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves. The Dominican Republic native yielded seven hits and two earned runs -- striking out five and walking two over 5 2/3 innings of work. Sanchez again did well to limit the damage against him, and has been exceptional for the most part this season. Still, fantasy managers might quibble that he's lacking in the win column -- stuck at 4-1 despite three earned runs or fewer and two quality starts across his last four outings. He'll carry a strong 3.32 ERA and slightly inflated 1.31 WHIP with a 70:22 K:BB ratio (59 2/3 innings) into his next start -- a road matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays next week,

Cristopher Sanchez Tosses Six Scoreless Innings

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez was dominant on Wednesday, pitching six shutout innings and earning the win in a 7-0 victory against the Rays. He allowed one hit and three walks while striking out five. He's only allowed more than two runs in a start one time all season, and he now holds a 2.89 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 37 1/3 innings. Although he didn't strike out many batters in this start, he limited the damage by inducing ground balls. This isn't anything new for the left-hander, whose 58.3% ground ball rate in 2024 ranked in the top five percent of the league. He'll look to keep things going in his next outing, which is currently lined up to be against the Cardinals.
