Jazz Chisholm Jr. has First Multi-Homer Game of the Year on Monday

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. carried the offense in Monday night's 8-5 victory in the Bronx over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates, going 2-for-4 at the plate with two home runs, five RBI, and two strikeouts to bolster his season average to .228 and his OPS to .726. It was Chisholm's first multi-homer game of 2026 after he did it four times in 2025. The big game on Monday night against the Bucs boosted Chisholm's season totals to 16 home runs, 43 RBI, and 26 stolen bases in 375 plate appearances in his second full season in the Bronx. The 28-year-old left-handed slugger continues to be a batting-average and on-base-percentage drain thanks to a 29.6% strikeout rate. Chisholm is also displaying less power with a 40.4% ground-ball rate in his 371 plate appearances so far this year. Still, the two-time All-Star should reach the 20-20 mark for the third straight campaign, and fantasy managers cannot complain for a player with second base eligibility. It's just not the high-end production that we expected after he hit 31 homers, drove in 80, and stole 31 bags in 2025. Chisholm has now homered three times in his last two games.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Back in Yankees Starting Lineup

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (toe) was included in the team's starting lineup for Monday's series opener in Tampa against the division-rival Rays, according to MLB.com. Chisholm is starting at second base and is batting sixth versus Rays right-hander Griffin Jax. The Yankees pulled Chisholm from Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Twins early due to discomfort in his right big toe, but X-rays came back negative, and he ended up not missing a start at all. The 28-year-old left-handed slugger has elite power/speed upside for a position player eligible at second base in fantasy, but he's not without his issues. Chisholm has a strikeout rate that sits at 28.9% and a .307 on-base percentage in his 85 games across 336 plate appearances. But he enters Monday's action with 12 home runs, 33 RBI, 26 stolen bases, and 43 runs scored in his second full season with the Yankees. Chisholm has hit .200 (9-for-45) with a homer, a double, two RBI, five stolen bases, four runs, two walks, and 16 strikeouts in his last 14 games since June 20.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Day-to-Day After Injuring his Toe on Sunday

The New York Yankees announced that infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (toe) left Sunday's series finale early against the visiting Minnesota Twins with right big-toe discomfort. Chisholm was examined by Dr. Christopher Ahmad at Yankee Stadium, and X-rays came back negative. He will be reassessed on Monday. Before leaving in the fifth inning, Chisholm went 1-for-2 at the plate. Jose Caballero shifted from third base to second base, with veteran Amed Rosario entering the game to play third. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Monday to see if the switch-hitting infielder is back in the starting lineup for the team's series opener against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays on the road. The 28-year-old entered Sunday's game with a .223 (66-for-296) batting average and an on-base percentage just over .300, but Chisholm continues to provide high-end power/speed skills at second base for fantasy managers. He has 12 long balls, 33 RBI, 43 runs scored, and 26 stolen bases in 296 at-bats in 2026 in his second full season in the Bronx.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Returns to Yankees Lineup for Series Finale

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (head) is starting at second base and is batting fifth in Wednesday's series finale in the Bronx against the visiting Detroit Tigers and right-hander Troy Melton, according to MLB.com. Chisholm took an elbow to his head during a collision with outfielder Jasson Dominguez on Monday and was pulled early, and then he sat out of Tuesday's contest. The 28-year-old left-handed slugger was able to clear the concussion protocol, though, and now he's back on the field for the Yankees. Fantasy managers will want to get Chisholm back in their starting lineups right away for his high-end power/speed upside. Chisholm is batting just .222 (63-for-284) with a .305 on-base percentage and a 28.7% strikeout rate in 321 plate appearances on the season, but he's one of the best power/speed options in fantasy with eligibility at second base. He'll be looking to get back on track on Wednesday after going hitless in his last eight plate appearances over four games with five strikeouts.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Won't Start on Tuesday Against Tigers

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone told the Talkin' Yanks podcast that infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (head) won't be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's clash against the visiting Detroit Tigers after he collided with outfielder Jasson Dominguez in Monday's loss. However, Boone hopes Chisholm is available off the bench. Chisholm took an elbow to his head on Monday night and was put in the concussion protocol. The fact that the 28-year-old might be available off the bench a day later suggests that he might have avoided a concussion and won't land on the seven-day concussion list as we head into July. If Chisholm avoided a concussion, he could be back in action as early as Wednesday's game against Detroit. The two-time All-Star is batting just .222 (63-for-284) on the season with an on-base percentage just over .300 and a 28.7% strikeout rate, but his power (12 homers) and speed (24 stolen bases) make him enticing as a fantasy second baseman in the Bronx. Check back on Wednesday to see if he's back on the field.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Leaves Early on Monday With Apparent Head Injury

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (head) is leaving Monday's game early against the visiting Detroit Tigers after colliding with outfielder Jasson Dominguez in the fourth inning in the Bronx, according to Chris McCosky of The Detroit News. Chisholm took an elbow to the head and was being checked for a concussion by the medical staff. Before being replaced at second base by Oswaldo Cabrera, Chisholm went 0-for-1 at the plate with a strikeout. Fantasy managers should check back later on Monday evening to see if Chisholm passed through the league's concussion protocol. If not, there's a good chance he'll land on the seven-day concussion injured list. The two-time All-Star came into Monday's series opener against Detroit with just a .223 batting average (63-for-283), but he also has 12 home runs, 33 RBI, 24 stolen bases, and 42 runs scored in his 80 games and 320 plate appearances as one of the most valuable players eligible at the second base position in fantasy baseball. If Chisholm is forced to miss additional time, veteran Amed Rosario could see more playing time at the keystone in addition to Cabrera. UPDATE: According to the Yankees, Chisholm was examined by Dr. Christopher Ahmad and is currently in the concussion protocol.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Returns to Friday's Lineup After Injury Scare

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (groin) is back at second base and is batting fifth for Friday's series opener in the Bronx against the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Rhett Lowder, according to MLB.com. Chisholm fouled a ball off his groin in Thursday's series finale against the Chicago White Sox and was removed from the game early, but he thankfully avoided a serious injury and is back in action a day later. Despite his recent slump, fantasy managers in traditional leagues should return the left-handed slugger to their starting lineups in a favorable matchup. He's hitting just .178 (8-for-45) with four home runs, a triple, 10 RBI, six stolen bases, 12 runs scored, 10 walks, and 18 strikeouts in 14 games in June to drop his season slash line to .228/.316/.404 with a .720 OPS. The 28-year-old doesn't get on base at a high clip or help in batting average, but his power/speed upside at second and third base is hard to replace in fantasy. He's one of only a few players in baseball this year with double-digit home runs and 20 stolen bases in the first half.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Departs Early After Fouling a Ball Off his Groin

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (groin) was pulled from Thursday's contest against the Chicago White Sox in the fourth inning after fouling a ball off his groin area, according to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. Chisholm fell to the ground and was eventually removed from the game after a trainer came out to check on him. Before leaving early, Chisholm went 0-for-1 at the plate in the Bronx in the series finale against the Pale Hose. He was replaced at second base by Jose Caballerlo, who moved over from shortstop. We should know more about the 28-year-old's status shortly, but for now, we'll consider him day-to-day. Chisholm came into Thursday's contest with a weak .229 batting average (57-for-249) and .317 on-base percentage, but he's also one of just a few players in the league already with 10 home runs and 20 stolen bases in his first 69 games played. He's also added 30 RBI and 37 runs scored in his 284 plate appearances and is rostered in 99% of Yahoo leagues as the top fantasy second baseman.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Not Providing Fantasy Managers With Much Power

It's been a frustrating season so far for New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr., who enters Week 7 with a .207 average (30-for-145) with only four home runs, 14 RBI, 17 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, 16 walks, and 46 strikeouts in 163 plate appearances across 40 games played in his second full season in the Bronx. The 28-year-old two-time All-Star hit a career-high 31 home runs, drove in 80 runs, and stole 31 bases in his first full year with the Yanks in 2025, making him the clear top option at second base in fantasy going into the 2026 campaign. Chisholm is still providing useful speed on the basepaths, but his power numbers are down early on, and he has a bad combination of ranking in the 20th percentile in strikeout rate and the 26th percentile in hard-hit rate. In 10 games so far in May, Chisholm has gone 8-for-36 (.222) with a homer, double, four RBI, four runs, and two steals. He hasn't had a multi-hit game since April 26. It's still early, though, so there's a buy-low opportunity for his power/speed potential.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Sitting Against a Lefty on Tuesday

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. is not in the team's starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the visiting Los Angeles Angels with left-hander Reid Detmers on the mound, according to MLB.com. First baseman Ben Rice will also take a seat for the second straight day against a lefty. Cody Bellinger will also start on the bench for the Yanks. Amed Rosario is at second base in place of Chisholm and will bat third for the Yankees against Detmers. The 30-year-old Rosario has only played in 10 games so far in 2026 as a bench option, but he's gone .308 (8-for-26) with two home runs, six RBI, and two runs scored in his 29 plate appearances. Rosario has some experience against Detmers, too, hitting .462 with a 1.115 OPS and a home run against him in 13 career at-bats. The Yankees are hoping a day off will get Chisholm right, as the 28-year-old has gone just 11-for-61 (.180) in his 16 games with no homers. Chisholm does have six stolen bases in 65 plate appearances.
